Zora is unwilling to accept the bird’s premise, using any means to destroy the death by getting rid of the bird … which of course comes with consequences.

"Every life ends..." A24 has unveiled an official trailer for an intriguing film titled Tuesday, marking the feature directorial debut of Croatian filmmaker Daina Oniunas-Pusic (aka Daina O. Pusić). The Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. alum stars as the future King Arthur in the MGM+ historical epic The Winter King, which has landed a 10-episode series order, TVLine has learned. The Winter King will premiere Sunday, Aug. 20 at 9/8c.

ITV’s big-budget Arthurian adaptation The Winter King has found a U.S. home.

MGM+ has boarded the 10-part Bernard Cornwell adaptation, which comes from His Dark Materials producer Bad Wolf, and the show will launch on the U.S. streamer on August 20.

Starring Iain De Caestecker and Eddie Marsan as The High King, the adaptation is set in the fifth century, long before Britain was united in a brutal land of warring factions and tribes, where lives were often fleeting. The series follows Arthur Pendragon, played by De Caestecker, as he evolves from outcast to legendary warrior and leader. Other cast includes Ellie James (I May Destroy You) as Nimue, Nathaniel Martello-White (Small Axe) as Merlin, Stuart Campbell (Rogue Heroes) as Derfel, Daniel Ings (I Hate Suzie) as Owain, Valene Kane (The Fall) as Morgan, Jordan Alexandra (Mammals) as Guinevere, and Simon Merrells as Gundleus.

MGM+ on Wednesday announced it has ordered a 10-episode first season of “The Winter King,” based on the popular “Warlord Chronicles” novels by Bernard Cornwell that explore a deconstructive, somewhat realistic take on the legends of King Arthur.

The series will star Iain De Caestecker as Arthur Pendragon.

The series is set to premiere August 20 on MGM+, the network formerly known as Epix. It is produced by Sony Pictures-owned production company Bad Wolf, and is being adapted by Kate Brooke and Ed Whitmore. Otto Bathurst, known for his work on Netflix’s “Peaky Blinders” and HBO’s “His Dark Materials,” will serve as lead director and executive producer alongside Toby Leslie.

I May Destroy You was one of the most critically-acclaimed and most-talked about television shows of 2020, despite what the Golden Globes say.

However, Michaela Coel has always said that the 12-episode series, which is a co-production between HBO and the BBC, was intended as a one-off. “When you see the final episode, you’ll know,” she said last year.

That said, HBO would like to remain in business with the Chewing Gum creator, who also runs her own Falkna Productions, for whatever she is planning next.
