Chicago – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review for “Tuesday,” the debut directorial effort of filmmaker Daina Oniunas-Pusić and featuring the continued performance growth and evolution of actor Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Currently in theaters since June 14th.
Rating: 4.5/5.0
Dreyfus portrays Zora, the emotionally distraught mother of a wheelchair-bound daughter named Tuesday (Lola Pettigrew). When an odd talking Macaw bird (voice of Arinzé Kene) infiltrates Tuesday’s bedroom, it’s representing the imminent death of the girl. Zora is unwilling to accept the bird’s premise, using any means to destroy the death by getting rid of the bird … which of course comes with consequences.
“Tuesday” is in theaters since June 14th. Featuring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lola Pettigrew, Leah Harvey, Arinzé Kene and Ellie James. Written and directed by Daina Oniunas-Pusić. Rated “R”

"Every life ends..." A24 has unveiled an official trailer for an intriguing film titled Tuesday, marking the feature directorial debut of Croatian filmmaker Daina Oniunas-Pusic (aka Daina O. Pusić). This premiered at last year's Telluride Film Festival, but it hasn't shown up many other places since then. This features a rather unique high concept: a mother and her teenage daughter must confront Death when it arrives in the form of an astonishing talking bird (who appears as a big parrot). It's a story about a woman who is sick and dying, and a mother who doesn't want to let her daughter go, learning to accept the reality of death thanks to this talking bird (as Death) helping her though it. All of this sounds quite wild. Julia Louis-Dreyfus stars as Zora, Lola Petticrew as Tuesday, Leah Harvey, Ellie James, and Arinzé Kene as the voice of Death. This actually doesn't seem that weird,...

Arthur faces the consequences of his poor choices, with war with Powys and the Saxons on the horizon. Nimue is exiled to the Isle of the Dead, and Derfel investigates to prove her innocence. The Winter King episode 8 takes a different approach to magic, implying it may not exist within the show's world. Nimue's "curse" in the show is revealed to be a lie, suggesting that magic is not real and she has no true magic abilities. While Merlin's visions may hint at the existence of magic, the show overall presents magic as underplayed and not a prominent feature.

The movie follows June Stevenson as she takes her estranged sisters on a road trip to make peace with their dying father. The film features stunning imagery of the Pacific Coast and delves into the beauty of landmarks and craft breweries.
Officially premiering at the 30th annual Austin Film Festival, For When You Get Lost is a dark comedy that proves one can still come of age when middle-aged. Gundleus in The Winter King is reminiscent of Ramsay Bolton from Game of Thrones - both villains take pleasure in their violent actions. Gundleus' actions in the show include staking Derfel, murdering a baby, killing Queen Norwena, and assaulting Nimue. Just like Ramsay, viewers will have to wait for Gundleus' comeuppance, but it will be worth it if the show stays true to the books.

"The Winter King" sets the stage for an epic fantasy show, combining Arthurian legend and historical fact in a gripping narrative. Arthur's banishment by his father is rooted in his illegitimate status and the belief that he failed to save his brother's life. Derfel's forbidden romance with Nimue and his secret warrior training pave the way for future conflicts, while Merlin seeks out Arthur to save Britain from the evil future King Mordred.
The Winter King's first episode reinvents the legend of King Arthur and sets the pieces in place for a dramatic first season. The Winter King is the first novel in Last Kingdom series creator Bernard Cornwell's The Warlord Chronicles, which also consists of Enemy of God and Excalibur. These novels combined Arthurian legend with historical fact and stripped back on the more overt fantasy elements of the tale.

Outlander is going on hiatus after its midseason finale and will not return until a later date, leaving fans eagerly waiting for its comeback. The Winter King, a new historical fiction series, premieres on August 20, 2023, and could be a perfect replacement for Outlander during its hiatus. The Winter King has similar elements to Outlander, including historical drama, action sequences, and even overlapping cast members, making it an ideal substitute.
Outlander is going on hiatus following its midseason finale on August 11, 2023, and the historical drama series sadly won't return until an unannounced later date. Starz split the show's seventh season in two, so the first half has already aired, and the second half will drop sometime later next year. However, in the meantime, fans of the television series can look forward to a new show that could fill the void left by Outlander's absence.

The Winter King cast brings together a diverse and exciting ensemble to bring the first in the trilogy of Bernard Cornwell's King Arthur novels to life. The show looks to be the latest medieval television hit with MGM+ releasing the series with the first season consisting of 10 episodes which will debut on August 20, 2023. The Winter King is based on The Warlord Chronicles by The Last Kingdom author Bernard Cornwell. Though a historical fiction, The Winter King cast will bring to life some legendary characters who audiences are certainly familiar with.
There have been many King Arthur movies over the years with each project looking to tell a new version of the classic hero. The Winter King begins with the first book in Cornwell's trilogy (also titled The Winter King) and follows the young Arthur who has been banished from the kingdom as a warlord and seeks to protect the throne.

If you’re eagerly awaiting the release of Seven Kings Must Die – the final feature-length instalment of The Last Kingdom, airing on Netflix this April – you might be wondering what will fill the epic battle-filled hole in your TV viewing schedule once it’s all over.
Good news: the answer could be Bad Wolf’s new show The Winter King, which will air on Itvx. This brand-new historical fiction TV series has more than just the Middle Ages setting in common with The Last Kingdom: they’re also both based on a series of Bernard Cornwell novels. This time, however, instead of Saxons vs. Vikings, The Winter King will tell the story of the legend of King Arthur:
“Once upon a time, in a land that was called Britain, these things happened.”

I May Destroy You was one of the most critically-acclaimed and most-talked about television shows of 2020, despite what the Golden Globes say.
However, Michaela Coel has always said that the 12-episode series, which is a co-production between HBO and the BBC, was intended as a one-off. “When you see the final episode, you’ll know,” she said last year.
That said, HBO would like to remain in business with the Chewing Gum creator, who also runs her own Falkna Productions, for whatever she is planning next.
“She is noodling ideas and I hope anything she comes up with, we would be able to participate in,” Casey Bloys, chief content officer of HBO and HBO Max told Deadline.
Coel herself told the Obsessed With… podcast that she did have an idea for another series. “It is in the back of my mind,” she said. “And I keep telling this idea to...

In 2015, Michaela Coel’s screenwriting debut was the brilliant Chewing Gum, an E4 comedy that earned her two Baftas, an Rts win, several nominations and a considerable weight of expectation for what she’d write next.
What Coel wrote next is I May Destroy You, a BBC-HBO co-production announced last year under the working title of January 22nd. It’s the autobiographically inspired story of Bella (played by Coel), a young London writer whose drink is spiked on a night out. When she tries to piece together the events of what happened, Bella goes on a personal journey through trauma and pain that examines questions of sexual consent, liberation and exploitation in contemporary London.
Arriving on HBO and BBC One this June, here’s the latest trailer and more…

HBO has released the official trailer for “I May Destroy You,” its hotly-anticipated topical new TV series from Michaela Coel, the BAFTA-winning creator of “Chewing Gum.” Coel executive produces, writes, co-directs and stars in the series, which the network promises will be bold and candid, exploring the question of sexual consent in the present day given how much the landscape of dating and relationships has changed. And given Coel’s previous work, as well as the look of the trailer, it likely will be provocative.
HBO is certainly no stranger to envelope-pushing series. And “I May Destroy You” will likely fit in perfectly on the network that Zendaya’s “Euphoria” — or any number of its hard-hitting documentaries — call home.
Previously titled “January 22nd,” the official synopsis for “I May Destroy You” reads: “Set in London, where gratification is only an app away, the story centers on Arabella (Coel), a carefree,...
