Lilo & Stitch Social Media Reactions Promise Disney Fans The Best Live-Action Adaptation To Date
Image
Disney's live-action remakes have been nothing if not hit-or-miss. Some are considered improvements over their animated predecessors, and others...not so much.

Lilo & Stitch's fanbase has only grown since it was released in 2002, with merchandise featuring the adorable Experiment 626 still dominating store shelves over two decades later. Disney's marketing campaign for the movie has been fantastic, but will that translate into a great movie?

Based on the first social media reactions we first shared on Toonado.com, the answer to that question is a resounding "yes."

As you can see below, Lilo & Stitch is being hailed as Disney's best live-action remake yet, and the verdict thus far is overwhelmingly positive. Original plans called for this to be a Disney+ Original, so it's safe to say current Disney CEO Bob Iger was right to pivot to a theatrical release.

That's evident from early box office tracking suggesting a debut of at...

Lilo & Stitch First Reactions Blow Away Snow White Controversy
Image
Disney’s live-action movies have come in for some harsh criticism in the last several years, but it looks like that is about to change with the release of the highly-anticipated Lilo & Stitch. Like most Disney remakes, when it was first announced, many did not feel that the film would be able to live up to the charm of the original movie, but first reactions seem to suggest that the film is about push aside the controversies of Snow White and other recent releases and will be a strong challenger for the box office number one spot when it faces Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning over Memorial Day weekend.

While official reviews are yet to start coming in, early reactions on X and other social media platforms have been incredibly positive and could put Lilo & Stitch in the surprising position of being a Disney live-action remake...

“Lilo & Stitch,” Disney’s latest live-action remake, has been revealed to select members of the press, and the first reactions to the film are overwhelmingly positive.

Critic Wendy Lee Szany wrote on X, “Lilo and Stitch is the best Disney live-action to date. Seeing Stitch in his live-action form on the big screen brings on a huge wave of nostalgia. Journalist Laura Sirikul wrote on X, “Lilo and Stitch was heartwarming & really gave the official film more depth to Lilo & Nani. Maia Kealoha is a Star! The Stitch was so well made. Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning Social Reactions Reveal What To Expect From Ethan Hunt's Send-Off
Image
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning is expected to be the end of the line for Tom Cruise's iconic Imf agent, Ethan Hunt, and the first critic reactions have been shared on X following screenings across the globe last night.

The response is largely very positive, though it does sound like you'll need to do your homework and rewatch each of the previous instalments to get the most out of this conclusion. Some seem to feel it's a little self-indulgent, comparing Hunt to the Fast & Furious franchise's Dominic Toretto.

Overall, though, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning sounds like a fun time at the movies, with plenty of edge-of-your-seat action and a story that does right by Cruise's most iconic silver screen role.

Of course, we know better by now than to put too much stock into social media reactions like these. Ultimately, it will be the...

M:i – The Final Reckoning first reactions: Incredible action & stunts but is it too long?
Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible (1996)
It’s time for the final reckoning — and fans are here for it! The first reactions to Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning are in, although they might not exactly be what you’re hoping for.

But first, let’s start off with our own editor-in-chief Chris Bumbray, who was fortunate enough to catch a screening of the soon-to-be blockbuster and wrote that it “has some jaw dropping moments (the plane chase is an all time). Very much Dead Reckoning part 2 – I do still think this saga could have been 1 amazing movie, but I had a lot of fun.”

“Astonishing”: ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ Described as “Pure Cinema” as First Reactions Hit Social Media
Image
“Tom Cruise has done it again!” That’s the very early verdict from press screenings for the Hollywood icon’s latest film, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, with the film variously described as “astonishing,” “jaw-dropping,” “insane” and the “action movie of the summer.”

Following a series of press screenings, first reactions to Final Reckoning are hitting social media after the embargo lifted on Monday night. The social media reactions come ahead of official critics’ reviews, which drop on Wednesday.

The eighth film in the long-running Paramount Pictures spy action franchise, Final Reckoning has a lot riding on it for the studio as well as the domestic box office. In November 2024, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the project has had a long and difficult journey, with a budget approaching a hefty $400 million amid production delays — partly due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes — making it one of the most expensive films ever made.

How To Train Your Dragon Live-Action Remake First Reactions Land Following CinemaCon Screening
Image
Universal and DreamWorks Pictures’ live-action How to Train Your Dragon screened for members of the press and theater owners at CinemaCon yesterday, and the first reactions are now online.

Attendees were advised that they were about to see an unfinished version of the movie, but a few incomplete VFX shots weren't enough to dull an incredibly enthusiastic response.

Quite a few posts hail How To Train Your Dragon as "the best live-action remake" yet, and it sounds like the movie does a great job of recapturing everything that made the animated original so popular. The only minor criticism we can see is that the new elements introduced don't work quite so well.

We all know not to put too much stock in these initial reactions at this stage, but have a look at some X posts below, and we'll be sure to bring you what will no doubt be a...

Daredevil: Born Again Star Charlie Cox "Still Not Convinced" Certain Event Was The Right Move - Spoilers
Image
Based on what we learned from last night's social media reactions (see below), the first episode of Daredevil: Born Again begins with a shocking scene that will serve as a catalyst for Matt Murdock's arc across the entire season.

Possible spoilers follow.

If you've been keeping track of the various set photos that found their way online when the series was shooting, you'll likely be aware that Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson is probably going to be killed off.

While speaking to Extra TV, star Charlie Cox teased this "brutal" sequence, and admitted that he's still not convinced it was the right way to take the story.

“At the beginning of this season, there's a very traumatic event, which is going to change Matt Murdock's life… He'll probably never be the same again. I'm still not convinced it's the right thing to do, but we have to come back big and bold,...

Daredevil: Born Again First Reactions Hail "Devastatingly Dark" Revival As "Best MCU Pilot Thus Far"
Image
Stars, filmmakers and special guests hit the red carpet in New York City tonight to celebrate the launch of Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again, and initial reactions to the first two episodes are now online.

The biggest takeaway here is that Born Again is said to feel like a natural continuation of the Netflix series, although quite a few of the posts below note that it's not exactly the same.

The Disney+ show is reportedly every bit as brutal, bloody and hard-hitting (perhaps even more so?) as its predecessor, however, and the opening scene is said to be a complete shocker.

If you've been keeping track of our coverage of the various set photos you might have a pretty good idea what this sequence involves, but no spoilers here just in case.

The reactions are mostly glowing, but there are a few criticisms, including what sounds like some iffy...

'Heart Eyes': First Reactions Praise Valentine's Day Horror Slasher
Image
The slasher movie sub-genre appears to be alive and well in 2025 with Heart Eyes, a new horror effort from Werewolves Within director Josh Ruben and writers Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day), Phillip Murphy and Michael Kennedy. While a slew of horror movies are opening in the first part of the year, including the buzzy AI thriller Companion, signs point to Heart Eyes being the true break out of the bunch if these first reactions to the film are any indication.

On X, @bigscreenleaks said, "#HeartEyes is going to become your latest obsession. A breath of fresh air for the slasher genre, Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding have chemistry for days, delivering every line perfectly and investing you for the long haul. The kills are simply put, Bloody Beautiful and a delight."

Agatha All Along Social Media Reactions Point To A Slow Start For An Overall Spellbinding New MCU TV Series
Image
The social media embargo for Agatha All Along lifted a few hours ago and we now have a roundup of verdicts from critics who were fortunate enough to see four of the eight episodes in advance (check back here tomorrow night for our full review).

As you can see, the overall consensus is extremely positive; however, the majority seem to agree that the WandaVision follow-up gets off to a slow start and perhaps tries a little too hard to generate fan theories.

The cast and queer themes receive a fair bit of praise and some are, as you might expect, calling Agatha All Along one of the best and most unique Marvel Television projects to date.

We'll see what tale that all-important Rotten Tomatoes score tells, but those of you who have had your doubts about the series can now put your minds at rest if these early verdicts are...
