Netflix 2023 Movie Preview: Films Premiering on the Streamer This Year

Netflix’s list of films premiering on the streaming service in 2023 isn’t nearly as long as their ambitious 2022 film slate. Yet even with a slimmed-down slate, the lineup of movies arriving this year is impressive and checks off nearly every genre.

The streamer will be dipping back into familiar territory with sequels to Murder Mystery and Extraction. Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon, Sam Esmail’s Leave the World Behind, and David Yates’ The Pain Hustlers will premiere this year, as will the film continuation of Luther starring Idris Elba. And two romantic comedies with big-name casts made their way into the lineup: Your Place or Mine (Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon) and A Family Affair.

Netflix’s announcement of their 2023 film slate was accompanied by a trailer showcasing 16 titles including You People, The Mother, Heart of Stone, The Killer, and Leo.

Lana Del Rey says she lost unpublished book manuscript and new music in car break-in

Lana Del Rey has said that a backpack containing her computer and multiple hard drives was stolen from her car in Los Angeles.

Speaking in an Instagram Live video, the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter revealed: “A few months ago, I parked my car on Melrose Place and I stepped away for a minute. And the one time I left my backpack inside my car, someone broke all of the windows and took it.

“Inside of it was my computer and my three camcorders and my hard drives.”

The theft resulted in the loss of various pieces of unfinished work, including unreleased music and a 200-page book manuscript that Del Rey was writing for publishers Simon & Schuster. She also lost family footage that was stored on the camcorders.

'Candy Cain' Holiday Trio of Films Features Former Soap Stars Patrick Muldoon, Carrie Genzel, Terri Garber, Jennifer Bassey, Cynthia Gibb
Former All My Children actress Carrie Genzel stars in the upcoming holiday film Ivy & Mistletoe.Production has wrapped on the final film in the upcoming "Candy Cain" trio of Christmas-themed romances from writer-director Candice Cain. Production on Painting Christmas, a modern-day fairytale about an artist who receives a magical paintbrush from Santa, wrapped last week in Patchogue, NY. It follows the family-focused Ivy & Mistletoe, also shot on Long Island and the travel romance Destination: Christmas, partially shot on location on the southern European island Republic of Malta.

The holiday trio are produced by Gemelli Films and the Bryant Zamberlan Group, and are written and directed by Cain, based her original stories. The three films will be distributed by the Global Genesis Group in the United States and abroad.
