First Stills from Indie Slasher ‘The Last Sleepover’ Starring Felissa Rose Revealed [Exclusive]
Image
The Last Sleepover is currently in production in Kentucky, and Bloody Disgusting has an exclusive look at the first batch of stills from the indie slasher.

Genre favorites Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) and Lisa Wilcox (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4-5) appear in the film alongside Spooky Madison, Audri Curtsinger, Jason Crowe, Ashe Parker, and Tj Moreschi.

A group of former friends reunite on the night of their 20-year high school reunion. Once part of an elite clique called The Pastels, they harbor a dark secret — years ago, they tormented a less fortunate girl in a cruel prank that ended in tragedy.

After the reunion, they continue the night at an Airbnb for one last sleepover, but the celebration quickly turns into a nightmare. A masked killer begins hunting them down one by one, seeking revenge for the sins of their past.

Gregory W. Brock directs from a script he co-wrote with Austin J. Rutherford.

Coming our way from Gregory W. Brock and Austin Rutherford, the filmmaking team behind Hillbilly Bloodbath, Kill Granny Kill, The Art of Killing, and The Town Without Halloween, The Last Sleepover has the following synopsis: A group of former high school friends reuniting on the night of their 20th-year class reunion. Once part of an elite clique called “The Pastels,” they harbored a dark secret—years ago, they tormented a less fortunate girl in a cruel prank that ended in tragedy. ‘Elm Street’ Favorite Lisa Wilcox Joins Felissa Rose in Indie Slasher ‘The Last Sleepover’

Lisa Wilcox has joined the cast of The Last Sleepover as Bethany Drake, a popular matriarch and pillar of the community.

The actress is best known for going toe-to-toe with Freddy Krueger as Alice Johnson in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child.

“Whether someone loves the horror genre or not, everyone is familiar with the Nightmare franchise,” producer P.J. Starks (10/31) tells Bloody Disgusting. “As a fan of those films, having Lisa join the project is very cool. She is a solid talent, and the gravitas she brings due to her status in the horror community only elevates the excitement of making this movie.”

Sleepaway Camp‘s Felissa Rose also stars in the indie slasher alongside Spooky Madison, Audri Curtsinger, Jason Crowe, Ashe Parker, and Tj Moreschi.

'Hazard' Review: The Opioid Crisis in Raw Detail
Image
Hazard depicts the opioid crisis ravaging rural America with a raw and unflinching lens. Writer and director Eddie Mensore pulls no punches as a drug user's entire family is consumed by a deadly epidemic's unsparing brutality. The film takes an all-encompassing view that incorporates multiple perspectives. We see desperate users clamoring for their next fix, regardless of the consequences; a frustrated cop trying to stem the tide; and ruthless profiteers supplying the carnage without a thought to the devastating aftermath. Hazard is admittedly heavy-handed at times and offers few narrative surprises, but tells harsh truths that sadly cannot be discounted.

Set in Hazard, Kentucky, the majestic beauty of the Appalachian mountain range is juxtaposed by grime-covered coal miners leaving another arduous shift. Will (Alex Roe) coughs and winces as a pill mill doctor writes another prescription for OxyContin. He gets high before driving in a daze past dilapidated homes and shuttered stores.
