Denmark-based sales agency LevelK has boarded sales on Slovenian title Block 5 ahead of its world premiere at Locarno Film Festival.
The family title centres on a 12-year-old girl who must join forces with her worst enemies – a skate gang – when she discovers that her father’s company plans to demolish their playground. It will have its world premiere on Sunday, August 11 in the Kids Screenings section at Locarno.
It is the fourth feature from Slovenian director Klemen Dvornik, who previously directed 2011 comedy Bread And Circuses and for TV series The Lake and Lenin’s Park.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, that is just one of two parts of a government plan to level the regulatory playing field between streamers and traditional free-to-air networks in Australia, which are struggling in the fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The government is also considering the removal of annual broadcast spectrum taxes for commercial TV networks and replacing them with an entirely new licensing program that could save local broadcasters as much as $12 million Aud ($8.85 million) per year.

Channel 4 has commissioned Blink Films to make a follow-up to its explosive documentary on Princess Diana’s infamous Panorama interview with the BBC in 1995.
