Soap Hub looks at the Hits and Misses for General Hospital’s Nurses’ Ball now that the gala event is over. Well, the fallout from the premiere charity ball isn’t over by a long shot. And that’s part of what we’re celebrating.
Top 10 Hits and Misses
10. Miss: What didn’t happen at the Nurses’ Ball. Ned (Wally Kurth) didn’t perform this year. Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Stella (Vernee Watson) weren’t there to watch James (Gary James Fuller) / Georgie (Lily Fisher) and Trina (Tabyana Ali), respectively. While many of the kids and young adults were present, none of the younger teens (meaning Rocco/Danny/Charlotte/Aidan) were there. Both Laura (Genie Francis) and Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) were also Mia. Because of Alexis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Kristina’s (Kate Mansi) confrontation, they didn’t make it to the Ball, and so Alexis wasn’t there for...

General Hospital’s Nurses Ball may have been missing a few things this year — like some beloved characters and a half-naked Lucy — but what it had plenty of was memorable performances! Here is every 2025 Nurses Ball performance, ranked.
Honorable Mention: The Tango That Wasn’t
Let’s start off with an honorable mention: Anna (Finola Hughes) and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) Tango… that didn’t happen. The Pcpd pair were supposed to dance, accompanied by Gio (Giovanni Mazza), but the real entertainment happened when Gio’s violin came to an abrupt stop and he made the big reveal that Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) are his parents.
7. Opening Act ft. Gh Nurses + Isaiah
There may be no opening act that could top the famous “Welcome to the Nurses Ball,” so watching beloved nurses like Amy (Risa Dorken), Deanna (Dioni Michelle Collins), and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) sing fell a bit short.

It’s almost that time of the year on General Hospital. The weather is getting warmer and pretty soon the Metro Court pool will be open. Will the latest batch of teenagers be hanging out there and dealing with new drama?
The Good Old Days
Gh has always done a good job of representing teenage soap stories. There was the original foursome of Lucky (Jonathan Jackson), Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Emily (ex-Amber Tamblyn), and Nikolas (the late Tyler Christopher). This group brought the teen angst and gave us first loves and real friendships. Port Charles also had a heartbreaking storyline with teens Robin (ex-Kimberly McCullough) and Stone (ex-Michael Sutton).
The most recent group centered around Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Trina (Tabyana Ali). The boys in their group were originally Oscar (ex-Garren Stitt) and Cameron (ex-William Lipton). After Oscar’s tragic death, they added Dev (ex-Ashton Arbab), who also died,...

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has an unwilling favor to ask, and he asks it of Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) during General Hospital’s Monday episode. Despite the Quartermaine family dwindling in recent years on General Hospital, their iconic mansion has filled up in the most unexpected way.
Mansion Madness
The Quartermaine Mansion was once occupied by infamous family members, like Monica (Leslie Charleson), Tracy (Jane Elliot), and her notable parents, Edward (ex-John Ingle) and Lila (ex-Anna Lee). More recently, a new generation of Quartermaines has moved in, like Michael and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), along with their spouses and children.
But what was once the home of arguing and bickering, betrayals and Elq drama, has now turned into a place to pawn off Port Charles’ parentless kids.

It all started when Violet (ex-Jophielle Love) moved into the mansion with Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn after already being ashamed by her mom and left with her uncle when Finn (ex-Michael Easton) went to rehab. Violet moved in...

Maxie and Spinelli’s Halloween night went from happy to heartbreaking on the November 4, 2024 episode of General Hospital.

Just when they were about to get cozy, a knock on the door threw them back into the spooky spirit.

Once he broke the news of Sam’s (ex-Kelly Monaco) death to the couple, they each let the shock sink in. It wasn’t all sadness and devastation on Halloween for the people of Port Charles.
Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) were tasked with talking to their daughter, Georgie (Lily Fisher), about Halloween.
She wasn’t interested in trick-or-treating until her parents gave her a pep talk about how there isn’t an age limit.
Maxie fondly remembered how Georgie’s namesake (Maxie’s sister) went all out for the fun holiday throughout high school.
As Georgie headed to get ready for trick-or-treating, viewers were likely unprepared for what General Hospital had in store.
The ABC soap honored Kirsten’s beginnings, with Georgie presenting as Zenon from Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century and the two sequels.

Kirsten Storms always documents her take-your-daughter-to-work days at General Hospital, but a recent day on set was cuteness overload.
Playtime
Storms captured a moment between her real-life daughter Harper, 10, and her on-screen son, Gary James Fuller, 8, during a day on the Gh set.
Along with the added sound of “MMMBop,” Kidz Bop edition, the pair are pictured playing with what looks like a Marvel Lego set.
“These 2 did not want to stop hanging out at work yesterday,” Storms captioned the photo before referring to their playtime as both cuteness and energy overload.

James was furious when he could no longer take riding lessons from Cody on General Hospital. So James followed in the footsteps of such Port Charles children like Michael and Spencer by running away from home so that the adults in his life would realize he was angry, and boy, wouldn’t they be sorry then! Maxie made a half-hearted attempt at disciplining him by cutting off his video games and his ice cream. Eh, James shrugged, whatevs. It’s not video games and ice cream he wants; it’s riding lessons and, more importantly, time with Cody. So, if running away didn’t get him what he wanted, maybe his new scheme will.

General Hospital Spoilers leak Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) have been a little bit ho-hum in recent months ever since they reunited.
We were on pins and needles waiting for that reunion to happen, and when it did, suffice it to say it was a little anticlimactic.
General Hospital Spoilers —Maxie Jones Is Busy Holding On To Deception
Still, we were expecting more than for Spinelli to just end up another cast regular who Maxie could play off of. There hasn’t been much focus on their relationship or the way their coming back together has changed their family unit.
We just expected more, but hey, maybe more is on the horizon. Rumor has it that while Maxie is busy still trying to hold Deception together, and Spinelli is finding himself comfortable back in cahoots with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), they...

General Hospital spoilers tease that two of Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) children have been appearing quite a bit in recent weeks.
Both James West (Gary James Fuller) and Georgie Spinelli (Lily Fisher) have been onscreen, while Maxie’s youngest Bailey Lou Jones (Riley and Miley Plonski) hasn’t been seen since sometime last year.
Bailey’s absence is usually explained fairly easily, she’s typically either napping in another room or with her grandmother, Felicia Jones (Kristina Wagner). But now that the Plonski twins have been case, it seems likely we’ll be seeing more of the little one.
General Hospital Spoilers – Mac Scorpio Comes Home!

General Hospital (Gh) spoilers and updates for Wednesday, June 19 tease surprise reunions, embarrassed confessions and big news!
Next On General Hospital
Georgie Spinelli (Lily Fisher) answers the door to a surprise reunion, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) makes some embarrassed confessions and Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) has big news!
What, You Worry?
At the Metro Court pool Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) talks to Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Massa) and she can’t quite believe her ears; she’s incredulous as she repeats it back.
Josslyn wants to make sure she’s understanding Gio correctly as she asks “So you’re worried about taking advantage of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)”!
That does seem odd, considering Gio’s living at the Quartermaine mansion, not living with Sonny.
He’s certainly not living in one of Sonny’s safe houses around town. Why he’d think he is taking advantage of Sonny is definitely a puzzler!

That being said, the fans are chattering that there might be more drama ahead before these two can really share any kind of happily ever after.
Did it all come too easy? We did wait more than a year for Spinelli to declare his love for the Maxonista, but will her worst fears of breaking his heart again come true? Or will they ride off into the sunset — finally?
One has to wonder whether the next big day Maxie will plan will be her own wedding day to Spinelli. Can they make it down the aisle this time while keeping their sanity and family intact?...

The world of Netflix's One Piece gets further fleshed out nearer to its release date, dropping the first looks at the young Straw Hat Pirates.
The teaser images released via X (formerly Twitter) showcase young Zoro (Maximilian Lee Piazza), Nami (Lily Fisher), Usopp (Kevin Saula), Sanji (Christian Convery), and Pirate-captain-to-be Luffy, played by Colton Osorio. None of the East Blue Straw Hats spent much time with their biological parents; the image of Nami with Bell-mère (Genna Galloway) hopes to be indicative of the "found family" that Showrunner Matt Owens spoke about in Oda's Two Demands. Actors for Nojiko (Chioma Umeala) and Kuina (Audrey Cymone) have also been announced.

It’s hard to wait to watch a film months after its release and not be at least somewhat affected by what the public thinks about it. To say that the Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde has not received favorable mentions is an understatement. Still everyone has opinions so it seemed possible that there might be something worthwhile about it, like Ana de Armas’ Golden Globe-nominated performance or the Oscar-shortlisted makeup and hairstyling. Seeing the Nc-17 rating and the daunting 2-hour-and-47-minute runtime at the start of the film sets up certain expectations, and, somehow, this film still manages to surprise, and not in a good way.
Blonde opens in black-and-white on a young Norma Jeane Mortensen (Lily Fisher) and her mother Gladys (Julianne Nicholson), who shows Norma a photo of a celebrity she claims is her father. Gladys quickly descends into a manic state, driving her young...

Ana de Armas had zero difficulty finding streams of research to play Marilyn Monroe in Blonde. But learning what drove Norma Jean, the delicate and insecure woman behind the public persona, was an entirely different challenge.
“It was important to find the emotional truth in this character,” she said Saturday at Deadline’s The Contenders Film: Los Angeles. “One of the biggest themes in this movie is the private and public self. Norma Jean was completely unseen. I wanted to capture the essence of that woman, to find the human underneath. It was a long process studying her and her films, to understand what she was feeling at all times, always thinking that Norma for the most part never thought she could live up to Marilyn. What people thought of her was not at all what she felt like.”

Warning: This article contains major spoilers for "Blonde."
Andrew Dominik's "Blonde," a fictional look at the trauma and tumult in the life of cinematic icon Marilyn Monroe, bears only a passing resemblance to reality. Instead, the film — which is an adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates' book of the same name — is an unending string of disappointments, degradations, humiliations, and pain. Over the course of 2 hours and 47 minutes, Marilyn is beaten, raped, lied to, cheated on, exploited, and more. It's a punishing watch. There's plenty of bold filmmaking involved, but is it worth the cost?
Throughout the film a number of wild moments take the action — and the unpleasantness — to a whole new level. Dominik's film isn't just unconcerned with the truth; it's explicitly uninterested in grounding the story in any kind of reality. "Blonde" features multiple dream sequences and plenty of hallucinations, leaving us unsure as to what, exactly,...

Andrew Dominik’s long-gestating Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde received a reception Thursday night at its Venice world premiere that somehow managed to be both rapturous and stunned. The contradictory nature of that response reflects the divisiveness that will most likely follow the harrowing Nc-17 movie into awards season.
The Venice audience responded with rousing applause and a heap of appreciation as the nearly three-hour-long film came to a close, rising to give Dominik and his cast a standing ovation lasting around 14 minutes, the longest of the festival so far. The most exuberant moments of appreciation seemed to come when the attention was focused on star Ana de Armas, whose fully committed performance as Marilyn Monroe is certain to spark Oscar speculation. By the end of the ovation, Dominik and his full cast were in tears.

Here’s a cocktail for you — let’s call it the “Blonde.” Start with a base of biographical fiction, add three parts mid-century photography, a heavy dash of bitters, a wash of bad taste and top with a Lynchian float. You’ll have something that kicks hard, if leaving you somewhat worse for wear once the intoxicants run their course.
And to push this analogy further than needed, director Andrew Dominik’s long-awaited Marilyn Monroe biopic is somehow less about the actress and more about his own showmanship. Think of Dominik as a flair bartender.
Premiering at the Venice Film Festival, “Blonde” holds stardom to the light and finds nothing but an unending nightmare. If technically an adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’ novel of the same name, the film uses that source as a launch pad, a framework on which to pin countless other inspirations, most of them visual.
