You’ll Never Guess Who Is Representing The Royal Family At Pope Leo Xiv’s Inauguration
Image
British royal family news reveals that neither Prince William nor King Charles will be in attendance at the historical ceremony and inauguration of Pope Leo Xiv later this month.

The new pontiff, 69-year-old Robert Francis Prevost, is the first American pope. He hails from Chicago, Illinois and will be installed in Vatican City’s St. Peter’s Square on May 18.

Who will represent the UK monarchy at the historic ceremony? Keep reading to find out who has been chosen for this special honor!

Prince William Missing From Historic Ceremony

Pope Leo succeeds Pope Francis, who passed away on April 21 at age 88. Prince William attended Pope Francis’s funeral on April 26 as his father, King Charles’, proxy.

Charles met with the late pope in Vatican City just weeks prior to the pontiff’s death. Both Charles and his wife Queen Camilla were in Italy at the time, on an official state visit.

Pope Leo Xiv Watched 'Conclave' Ahead of Papal Election
Image
The death of Pope Francis in April had an unexpected impact on the Oscar-contender Conclave, with the Ralph Fiennes movie seeing a surge in interest on its streaming home following the news of the pope’s passing. It seems that Fiennes also had an unexpected impact on Pope Francis’ successor, Pope Leo Xiv, who, according to his brother, was among those who watched the movie just before taking on the biggest role of his life.

Earlier this week, Pope Leo Xiv became the latest Roman Catholic leader to take over the most important position in the Catholic faith. Ahead of the election that delivered him to his new role, it seems that the new pope spent a little time taking advice from Fiennes performance, and according to his brother, that meant he was well-prepared for what was expected of him. Asked by NBC News how his sibling prepared to become...

Pope Leo Xiv Watched ‘Conclave’ Before He Was Elected, Brother Says
Image
The newly elected Pope Leo Xiv‘s brother has answered the question many were asking following the pivotal election.

The College of Cardinals made history yesterday when it elected Robert Prevost, the world’s first American pope, to fill the shoes of the late Pope Francis. The new pope is a Chicago native, and his American origins were a major point of conversation, excitement and debate Thursday. During an NBC News interview, his brother, Illinois resident John Prevost, opened up about their last conversation before the beginning of the pivotal papal conclave.

Noting that he and his brother talk regularly, Prevost revealed that he spoke to him right before the conclave commenced. They played Wordle and Words with Friends together to help keep the new pope’s mind off “life in the real world” for at least a few moments before finally discussing the then-forthcoming election.

“I said, ‘Well, do you have your red socks?...

Harry Styles Attended Pope Leo Xiv’s Historic Conclave Election
Image
When Pope Leo Xiv was elected as the late Pope Francis’ successor, Harry Styles was one of the many in the crowd present for the occasion, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

In a photo circulating online, the singer was spotted by fans in Saint Peter’s Square in the Vatican on Thursday for the historic moment. The Grammy winner was seen wearing a blue jacket, sunglasses and a grey baseball cap.

Following the end of his Love On Tour, Styles has been spotted in various parts of the world during his travels. Styles was seen participating in a marathon in Tokyo in March and joined a London run club last April.

Following Pope Francis’ death in April at the age of 88, Catholic cardinals elected the first U.S. pope, Chicago-born missionary Robert Prevost, who becomes the 267th pontiff to lead the Catholic Church.

The 69-year-old member of the Augustinian religious...

New Pope’s Older Brother: Leo Xiv Watched Movie ‘Conclave’ Just Before Entering Real Conclave
Image
One of the new pope’s brothers has given an interview to a Chicago TV station, shedding light on how Cardinal Robert Prevost prepared for the Vatican conclave that elected him pontiff. Turns out the prelate boned up with help from an Oscar-nominated film.

John Prevost, the middle of three Prevost brothers (Louis is the eldest and Robert – now Pope Leo Xiv — is the youngest) told Chicago’s NBC affiliate Wmaq-tv that he talked with Robert a day before the conclave began.

“I said, ‘Are you ready for this? Did you watch the movie Conclave, so you know how to behave?’ And he had just finished watching the movie,” Prevost laughed, “so he knew how to behave.”

Prevost explained, “I wanted to take his mind off of it [the real conclave], you know, laugh about something because this is now an awesome responsibility.”

Robert Prevost Watched Ralph Fiennes in Conclave to Learn How to Behave Right Before Getting Elected as Pope Leo Xiv

Who knew becoming Pope might start with a movie night?

Turns out Cardinal Robert Prevost’s road to becoming Pope Leo Xiv, began with Ralph Fiennes’ Oscar-nominated film, Conclave. According to his older brother, the now-Pope Leo Xiv took notes and papal prep from Fiennes’ film right before landing the holiest job on Earth.

Talk about divine inspiration from Hollywood! Speaking with NBC News, Cardinal Robert Prevost’s big brother, John Prevost, mentioned how the 69-year-old, who is officially the first-ever American Pope in 2,000 years, found his unexpected spiritual coach in Ralph Fiennes. It seems that while Fiennes lost his Oscar, he at least needs an honorary halo.

Catholic Cardinals Reportedly Consulted ‘Conclave’ Film Ahead of Ongoing Vote for Next Pope
Image
Ahead of the 2025 conclave to find Pope Francis’ successor, Catholic cardinals reportedly consulted Edward Berger’s 2024 acclaimed drama film of the same name.

According to Politico, a number of cardinals who are a part of the ongoing conclave that began Wednesday in Rome watched Conclave as a “helpful research tool” to learn more about the process of selecting a new pope.

“Some have watched [Conclave] in the cinema,” a cleric told Politico, with the outlet adding that “The film is seen as remarkably accurate even by cardinals” and has been useful “at a time when so many of the conclave participants have little experience of Vatican politics and protocol.”

After Robert Prevost was named the new Pope on Thursday, his brother, John Prevost, told NBC News that Leo Xiv watched Conclave before the real-life conclave commenced.

“And I said, ‘Well, are you ready for this?’” Prevost recalled. “I said, ‘Did...
