When Sunil Pal Criticized Tanmay Bhatt With Homophobic Comments (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Comedian Sunil Pal grabbed a lot of headlines recently after he claimed that he was kidnapped by some people who demanded a 7.5 lakh ransom. This was after the comedian went missing on Tuesday (December 3), after which his wife filed a missing person complaint at the police station. Sunil returned home on Wednesday and made these shocking claims to the police authorities, who are now investigating the matter. However, Pal has had his own share of some controversies before. H had once come under the scanner for making homophobic statements against comedian Tanmay Bhatt’s show.

What Did Tanmay Bhatt Do?

Back in 2016, Tanmay Bhatt had sparked a major fiasco after he had allegedly mocked Bharat Ratna awardees Sachin Tendulkar and the late Lata Mangeshkar in his Snapchat video. As the video received some backlash, Sunil Pal also joined...

'Hasmukh' review: An unusual Netflix show about a serial killer comedian falls short
Vir Das
OTTThe show is about a standup comedian who needs to kill before his shows to get his boost of confidence.Saraswati DatarHasmukh, now streaming on Netflix, has the most clutter-breaking concept I have seen in a long time. What if the only way a man can be fully alive is by killing someone? If your muse is murder, then how far will you go to fulfil your dreams? The 10-part series is created by real-life standup comic Vir Das and Nikkhil Advani and co-produced by Applause Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment for Netflix. Hasmukh Sudiya (Vir Das) is the small-town Cinderella from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. An orphan, he lives with his physically abusive uncle and his aunt who sexually harasses him, which rather disturbingly is passed off as humour. Both her need for sex and her harassment of him. Piling on the abuse is Gulati (Manoj Pahwa), Hasmukh’s loathsome...

Immediate reaction when the end credit rolls

If idea would have been the only criteria to judge a moving pictures content than Hashmukh gets 10/10.

The Story of Hashmukh

An aspiring comedian in Saharanpur, Hasmukh Sudiya (Vir Das) is assisting the famous local stand up artiste Gulati (Manoj Pahwa). One day the fumbling Hashmukh gets into an argument with Gulati for a chance, break on stage, resulting in Gulati getting killed accidently. Hashmukh replaces Gulati on stage and the incident transfers the fumbling Hashmukh into a confident stand up who knows how to win over the audience with his jokes. Gulati?s manager Jimmy (Ranvir Shorey) knows what has happened and both Hashmukh and Jimmy form a...
