David Loar

David Loar is a 32-year veteran of the professional stage. 2001--08, David was a member of the Blackfriars Resident Troupe of the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, VA, performing over 90 roles, including Shylock, Richard II, Prospero, Cassius, Claudius, Lord Capulet, and Ebenezer Scrooge. He toured the US for 6 years with the National Shakespeare Company, Chamber Repertory Theatre of Boston, and Shenandoah Shakespeare Express. Now living in Charleston, SC, David is a member of the Acting Ensemble of Charleston Stage Company, best known for playing Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol" twice and Robert Figg/4 other lawyers in 2 productions of "The Seat of Justice." "John Laurens' War" was his film debut; he has since appeared in several other films with Actors Theatre of SC, including "John at Patmos."
