“Schitt's Creek” is a licensed title for Hulu, but that doesn’t make it any less of a fantastic comedy series.

Emily Hampshire, known for portraying Stevie Budd on Schitts Creek and Jennifer Goines on SyFys 12 Monkeys, is joining the cast of the new film Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice.

According to The Wrap, Hampshire will play a crooked cop in the high-concept buddy action-comedy movie that will be set in a criminal underworld. BenDavid Grabinski is serving as writer and director on the project. Vince Vaughn, James Marsden, Eiza Gonzlez, Jimmy Tatro and Keith David will also be in the film.

Hampshire recently appeared in the films Humane, The Mattachine Family, Fitting In, and Self Reliance. She was in 78 of the 80 episodes of Schitts Creek, during the series six-season run from 2015 to 2020.

Fans of Schitts Creek may remember the bond between Eugene Levys Johnny Rose and Hampshires character on the series.

Filming has begun for Schitts Creek actor Scott Anthony Cavalheiro's directorial debut film, Plan C, starring Claire Cavalheiro, Daniel DeSanto and Vivica A. Fox.

Schitt's Creek's Christmas episode reveals the unseen figure of Stavros, Alexis' ex-boyfriend, highlighting how her present romance with Ted is more fulfilling." The brief flashback in the episode contrasts Stavros' disinterest in the Rose party with Ted's attentiveness and care for Alexis. The Christmas episode demonstrates the growth of the Rose family, finding true wealth and happiness despite their loss of money.

Schitt’s Creek often references various unseen figures associated with the Rose family’s glamorous past, with one such character actually making a subtle appearance in the sitcom’s Christmas episode. With the exception of the opening scene of Schitt’s Creek’s pilot, in which the Rose family’s belongings are chaotically removed from their lavish mansion, the pitfalls and glories of David (Dan Levy), Alexis (Annie Murphy), Johnny (Eugene Levy), and Moira’s (Catherine O’Hara) wealthy past is primarily only understood through their various stories and sprinkled references.

The best episodes of Schitt's Creek combine rich narrative with hilarious moments, showcasing the show's delicate balancing act. The incredible cast, including Eugene and Dan Levy, brings depth to the characters and enriches the show with great musical moments and emotional plot lines. Each highlighted episode demonstrates unique elements of the show, from Moira's extravagant outfits to physical comedy, old-fashioned capers, and heartfelt moments of love and friendship.

The best episodes of Schitt's Creek are able to advance the show's rich narrative while still being hilarious. It's a delicate balancing act, but throughout the show's six seasons, it pulled it off time and time again. Eugene Levy has had many iconic roles throughout his career, but he seems a little relieved that the films he gets recognized for the most has changed over the years.

For decades, the Cheaper by the Dozen 2 actor was known for playing Jim’s dad in American Pie, a movie where four teenage boys enter a pact before graduation with the goal to lose their virginity by prom night. In the 1999 film, he catches his character’s son (Jason Biggs as Jim) in quite a sexual situation involving an apple pie.

But in a recent interview with The Guardian, published online Sunday, Levy explained that “The American Pie thing got a bit tedious. People would bring me apple pie every time I went into a restaurant or to a wedding. Which is kind of funny, but it did happen a lot.”

Eugene Levy is recalling the mockumentary films he did with Christopher Guest. The Canadian actor shared that he recently reunited with the cast of A Mighty Wind to celebrate its 20th anniversary and in a new interview, Levy says that those films are likely done.

“Our last one was For Your Consideration back in 2006,” Levy told The Guardian. “Our fake documentaries — Chris [Guest] always hated the term ‘mockumentary’ because we’re not mocking, it’s more affectionate than that — but they were getting a little cookie-cutter in terms of story. In the interim, so many television shows have picked up that form and just destroyed it.”

Schitt's Creek gave each of its central characters a happy ending with a bright future, which perfectly sets the series up for a well-timed revival. This would, of course, require caution and care so as not to diminish the satisfying close of the original series. The popularity of reboots and spin-offs in recent years has proven that there are right and wrong ways to return to a story, especially one with such an emotionally impactful end. It would have to be timed right and set up in a way that doesn't contradict the trajectory of each character's happy ending.

Levy is a self-confessed, non-adventurous type, but apparently agreed to broaden his horizons for the show. The Reluctant Traveler is produced for Apple TV+ by Twofour. In addition to starring, Levy executive produces alongside David Brindley.

Netflix is losing yet another beloved comedy to a competing streaming service.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 3, Hulu will become the exclusive U.S. home to nine-time Emmy winner Schitt’s Creek, at which point it will no longer be available to binge-watch on Netflix.

Eugene Levy is checking out of the Rosebud Motel and heading on the road for his next adventure. On Monday, Nov. 1, Variety dropped the news that the Schitt's Creek star is set to host and produce a new travel series for Apple TV+ called The Reluctant Traveler. The show will take fans on unique travel journeys with Eugene as he makes his way across the world to visit extraordinary hotels that are a far cry from the one his character Johnny Rose ran with his family for the Pop TV comedy. The Emmy winner, who will also executive produce the show, will pack his suitcase and passport to take fans on wild adventures as he films at different lodgings. Apple TV+ is teaming up with Schitt’s Creek fan-favorite Eugene Levy for The Reluctant Traveler, a globe-trotting travel docuseries hosted by the comedic Emmy-winning actor. Eugene Levy is set to become The Reluctant Traveler for Apple TV+.

The Schitt’s Creek star is to host and exec produce the series, which comes from ITV-owned British production company Twofour.

Levy, who won an Emmy last year for his role as Johnny Rose in the Canadian sitcom, will visit some of the world’s most remarkable hotels, as well as explore the people, places and cultures that surround them in the series.

Levy is not usually adventurous or well versed in globe-trotting but has agreed that the time is right to broaden his horizons as long as he doesn’t have to battle his motion sickness, and still gets dinner at 7pm.

Twofour’s creative director David Brindley, a former BBC commissioner who joined The Jump producer in 2019 after Melanie Leach and Andrew Mackenzie left the company to start their own production company, will exec produce alongside Levy.

"Schitt's Creek" made history in 2020 when the show swept the Emmys, breaking the record for most wins by a comedy in a single season and becoming the only show to ever win all four of the acting categories in the same year.

Exclusive: Schitt’s Creek Emmy winning star Annie Murphy is set to star and executive produce Witness Protection for MRC Film’s female-driven comedy label, led by Becky Sloviter.

Witness Protection reunites Murphy with scribes Rupinder Gill and David West Read of the Emmy-winning Schitt’s Creek, who will write and executive produce the feature.

Witness Protection centers on a woman who has always defined herself by her romantic relationships, but when she is forced to enter witness protection, she must try to figure out who she really is for the first time while maintaining her cover and keeping the criminals at bay.

The original conceit for the project was developed in-house at Alloy Entertainment, which worked with Murphy to package the project that ultimately sold to MRC Film in a competitive situation. Elysa Dutton and Leslie Morgenstein will produce for Alloy Entertainment, with Sloviter producing for MRC.

Schitt's Creek is one of the best contemporary sitcoms; while the show has many things going for it, one of the best things about Schitt's Creek is the zany and loveable Rose family which is lead by patriarch Johnny Rose, played by the legendary Eugene Levy.

While Johnny is definitely Levy's most memorable role of recent years, it's also extremely special to him because he got to create the role alongside his son, who plays David in the series. Working with his family gave Levy a lot of room to push the boundaries with his character, and it also helped that he has a long working relationship with Catherine O'Hara who plays Moira. With such a welcoming community, Levy was able to give audiences an amazing, heartfelt, and downright hilarious portrayal of Johnny Rose.

Schitt's Creek doesn't exactly show many examples of business savviness. The town seems to only have one restaurant in Cafe Tropical and one discount fancy clothes shop in the Blouse Barn. That said, main character Johnny Rose is presented as being successful in business.

Johnny successfully ran his own video rental store, Rose Video, which helped build the Rose's family wealth and empire, but he lost everything. Johnny displays both good and bad traits for the business world, from his unstoppable work ethic to his need to be in control.

Schitt's Creek is bursting with so many quirks and humor, and it's all thanks to the bubbly and unique characters that bring the story to life. Johnny Rose may be that typical 'dad' character, but he has so many idiosyncrasies and qualities that make him the lovable guy he is.

Johnny isn't perfect, but he has so many qualities and that are hilariously and perfectly Johnny Rose. Plus, every great trait he has to offer can be solidified - with laughs or heartfelt moments - by the things he does around the motel and with his friends and family.

Johnny Rose is the patriarch of the Rose family in Schitt's Creek. He's a smart businessman who is level-headed and tries to keep the family together in the midst of a major life change. After the Rose family empire collapses, they move out of their mansion and into a rundown motel in the town of Schitt's Creek. As much as Johnny and co. loathed everything about Schitt's Creek, the town made them closer and allowed them a safe space to spread their wings.

Johnny has always appeared as the more humble one in the family throughout the show's six seasons, but that doesn't mean he didn't transform into a better person after his riches were taken from him. Schitt's Creek has become a cult classic for its all-around fantastic cast, their performances, and the situations they got themselves into along the way. The six-season series might (unfortunately) be over, but that doesn't mean fans can't relive the magic that once was.

Schitt's Creek revolved around the Rose's and their fall from their ivory tower. While Moira (Catherine O'Hara), Alexis (Annie Murphy), and David's (Dan Levy) characters are a hoot, the patriarch, Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy), ties everyone together. He's savvy, old-school, and the voice of reason for the family, but once in a while, his dry humor made for some good one-liners.

When the Roses lost their wealth in a blink of an eye on Schitt's Creek, the family left their former life behind for the small town of Schitt's Creek. Moira depended on her husband Johnny Rose to get the family back to where they used to be but when it was taking longer than expected, Moira and the kids stepped up.

What made Moira so special was her dedication to her craft in the hardest of times. Her love for theatrical fashion, colorful wigs, and song never left her on her darkest days. But there was one thing Moira found that she loved more than acting — her family. By the final season, Moira went from a selfish soap opera queen to a caring and supportive mother and wife with her eyes on the prize. She completely transformed whether she realized it or not.

Given the title is basically a Schitt pun, it’s perhaps surprising that Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek is one of the sweetest most nuanced shows around. Written by and starring father and son Eugene and Dan Levy it follows the Rose family, once extremely affluent, now entirely bankrupt after a tax scandal. The only asset they are allowed to retain is the town of Schitt’s Creek, which Johnny Rose bought for his son David as a joke.

If you haven’t seen the show – well go and watch it immediately (and also spoilers) but know that it takes a couple of episodes to really get into it. Once you’re in, you’re in.

While Catherine O’Hara appears on track to win a Golden Globe for “Schitt’s Creek,” Eugene Levy must face the “Ted Lasso” express. And star Jason Sudeikis has the ticket. Apple TV Plus is doing a tremendous job promoting “Ted Lasso” as a top awards contender, and in many ways it’s this year’s feel good vehicle in the way that “Schitt’s Creek” was during the last awards cycle. As the heart of “Ted Lasso,” Sudeikis may be hard to beat — especially if, again, the HFPA wants to get in and honor him before the Emmys. (Levy will have his Emmy from September to give him plenty of solace.

“Schitt’s Creek” swept the Primetime Emmys for the show’s farewell season. Series star and co-creator Eugene Levy scored two wins for Comedy Series and Comedy Actor as part of the awards haul. So it may come as a surprise to many that Levy’s recent Golden Globe nomination for Comedy/Musical Actor is his first ever mention from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Can the veteran performer continue his winning streak for playing Johnny Rose?

At the upcoming Golden Globes, Levy is nominated for Comedy/Musical Actor alongside Don Cheadle (“Black Monday”), Nicholas Hoult (“The Great”), Jason Sudeikis (“Ted Lasso”) and Ramy Youssef (“Ramy”). Holt and Sudeikis are also first-time Globe nominees, while Cheadle and Youssef are both past winners.
