Mikaela Blake is best known for her voice role in the animation series on Netflix 'The Magic School Bus Rides Again', that premiered in 2017 where she played the role of the level-headed and sarcastic Keesha Franklin working alongside Kate McKinnon from Saturday Night Live and Canadian Legend Lilly Tomlin. In the same year Mikaela worked with Director Chris Sargent on the O.S.A.P. Commercial 'You Earned It' that was played on TV and Internet.
Mikaela began her training at the age of 7 with The Second City in Toronto having fun with Improvisation. She later had the pleasure to be trained in Toronto by Lewis Baumander and Marcia Bennett of the LB Acting Studio along with Larissa Mair of Larissa Mair Casting & Associates studio for on camera and scene study work. Mikaela has also trained with the talented Sunday Muse from Great Big Voices for animation work and has trained vocally with Chris Tsujiuchi and Elaine Overholt from Great Big Voices studio.
Mikaela was presented with the offer to be the lead and Host of the new TV show 'When I Grow Up' that is in development for TVO Kids being produced by Riverbank Pictures that explores different career path options for kids in relation to S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in a fun and interactive way. The show is due to in premier in June of 2018.
Mikaela has a passion for the Arts and has received the Margo Ratsep Arts Award from her school three times, for 'Elevating the Spirit of the Arts'. Mikaela also enjoys sports and is a multi-sport athlete. Mikaela excels in competitive swimming and holds two club records for her swim club and is ranked top 20 in Canada for her Butterfly and Front Crawl stroke. When not on a full-time show, Mikaela trains six days a week for her swimming.
