Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for Colleen Hoover’s latest film adaptation “Regretting You,” a romantic drama following a strained mother-daughter and the love that brings them back together.

The film adaptation stars Allison Williams, Dave Franco, Mckenna Grace and Mason Thames (“How To Train Your Dragon”).

When Morgan (Williams)’s husband Chris (Scott Eastwood) and sister tragically die in a car accident, she and her brother-in-law (Franco) bond in order to navigate their grief. The loss causes a rift between Morgan and her daughter Clara (Grace). While her mom tries to put the pieces together, Clara heals her own grief by leaning on her love interest Miller (Thames).

Laysla De Oliveira is slated to co-star in upcoming rodeo flick Cowboy, the directorial debut feature film from Cameron Duddy, bass player for country band Midland, The Hollywood Reporter can reveal.

De Oliveira (Lioness, Locke & Key, Guest of Honour) joins a cast that had already included Ben Foster, Rudy Pankow, Gabriel Basso, Midland lead singer Mark Wystrach and retired NFL veteran Taylor Lewan.

Cowboy follows the story of Foster’s Lee “Babe” Midnight, described as a “washed-up rodeo legend drifting between small-time shows and shady deals” who ends up becoming a mentor to Pankow’s young aspiring rodeo rider Clif Casey. De Oliveira will play Alejandra, Lee’s ex-girlfriend and mother to an 11-month-old son.

Other than De Oliveira, Cowboy also adds Simon Rex (Red Rocket), Carlos Pratts (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, McFarland, USA) and Cameron Sault in supporting roles, the latter of whom is making his acting debut.

When Uncharted debuted in theaters in 2022, the Ruben Fleischer-directed film received mixed reviews and faced criticism from fans of the video game franchise it was based on. While the action-adventure movie, which starred A-listers Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, earned significant box office numbers, it wasn't exactly a critical darling either. The film currently holds a disappointing 41% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, while audiences have been more generous, giving it an 89% score. It is widely considered an underrated title for both actors. Fortunately, streaming platforms exist to give critically panned movies a shot at redemption. That includes Uncharted, which recently climbed into Prime Video's Top 10 list.

The film will be the directorial debut of Cameron Duddy, a member of the country group Midland. Cameron Duddy, bassist of the Grammy-nominated country band Midland and a top video director, is set to become a feature-film director, and two of his bandmates are on board as well.

Duddy will direct “Cowboy,” which stars Ben Foster (“Hell or High Water”), Gabriel Basso (“The Night Agent”) and Rudy Pankow, and follows a traveling rodeo and the group of entertainers within it as they deal with the harsh realities of their chosen careers. The film’s script was written by Adair Cole, based on a story from Duddy and fellow Midland member Jess Carson, and also features the band’s Mark Wystrach in an acting role.

“This is a personal story for me,” Duddy said in a statement. “It’s a film about what it takes to grind it out on the road chasing your dreams, and the emotional and physical toll it takes on all of us.”

Bradley Whitford has joined the cast of Universal’s upcoming adaptation of Reminders of Him, while reprising his role as Commander Joseph Lawrence in the final season of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale.

Whitford will portray Patrick Landry in Reminders of Him, based on Colleen Hoover’s novel. The film centers on Kenna Rowan, a young mother seeking to reconnect with her daughter after serving five years in prison. Maika Monroe leads the cast as Kenna, alongside Tyriq Withers, Rudy Pankow, Lauren Graham, and Nicholas Duvernay. Whitford’s character, Patrick, has guardianship of Kenna’s daughter with his wife Grace, played by Graham.

Directed by Vanessa Caswill, the film features a script co-written by Hoover and Lauren Levine. Hoover and Levine are producing through Heartbones Entertainment, with Gina Matthews of Little Engine Productions. Robin Fisichella is executive producing, while Christine Sun oversees for Universal.

Outer Banks season 5 might take a little bit longer to hit Netflix now.

According to a report from What's on Netflix, the cast and crew were supposed to start filming Outer Banks season 5 in May, but that start date has been pushed back to June 16. No reason for the delay has been revealed.

After Outer Banks season 4 dropped on Netflix in the fall of 2024, we heard quickly that season 5 was going to start filming in the spring of 2025. While we thought March or April were the likely start dates, it's clear that season 5's production start is getting a late spring start date.
