Lauren Vernea is an actress and writer based in Los Angeles. She was the Mosaic Scholar and is a graduate of the Conservatory Program at The Second City. She has a BA in Theater Performance and a MS in Communications from Northwestern University. She is the founder, head writer, and director of the all black female sketch group, "The Black Pantherettes" (UCB, The Second City Hollywood, The PIT, NY Sketchfest, LA Diversity in Comedy Festival, The Harlem Comedy Festival). As a writer, her other work consists of the live political sketch show "The Resistance" (The PIT), multiple pilots including a political comedy "The Senator Swap," and a church comedy "The Gospel of Yael." She wrote, produced, and starred in a Youtube comedy series "Art is Charisma." Lauren studied TV Writing at Script Anatomy in LA and NYC's Gotham Writer's Workshop. She studied sketch comedy and acting at The Second City LA, The People's Improv Theater, UCB, The Atlantic Acting School, and Stella Adler.
