When "Wicked" dropped last winter, conversations about the movie's performances understandably focused on Cynthia Erivo's show-stopping screen presence as Elphaba and Ariana Grande's fine-tuned take on Glinda. Following her notable performances in the musical adaptations of Les Misérables and Mamma Mia!, Amanda Seyfried attempted to score the role of Glinda in Wicked.

"Last summer while I was playing Elizabeth [The Dropout], on the weekends I was auditioning in person to play Glinda in the movie version of Wicked — because I wanted it that much that I was like, 'You know what? Yeah, I have to play the last scene of The Dropout on Tuesday. I’ll give my Sunday to you,’" she told Backstage.

Olivia Holt is no stranger to the musical Chicago!

The 27-year-old actress made her Broadway debut last year in the long-running musical as Roxie Hart and she brought her Chicago merch to attend Cinespia’s screening of the Oscar-winning movie adaptation.

Olivia joined friends at the outdoor graveyard screening at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Saturday (September 7) in Los Angeles.

While not pictured, Olivia sat in the crowd with friends Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes. Also there were Kaitlyn Dever, Harley Quinn Smith, and longtime couple Madison Iseman and Spencer Sutherland.

Exclusive: Prime Video has opted not to order a second season of I Know What You Did Last Summer, a modern take on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan and the 1997 film adaptation.

The YA horror series, produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures TV, debuted Oct. 15 to mixed reviews with the first four episodes, followed by a weekly releases capped by the season finale on Nov. 12.

I Know What You Did Last Summer was part of Amazon Studios’ push in young adult programming. The streamer remains committed to the genre and has breakout The Wilds, which is returning for a second season, animated series Fairfax, which is in the middle of a two-season pickup, and the upcoming The Summer I Turned Pretty, a TV series adaptation of the YA novel series from Jenny Han, the author behind To All The Boys I Loved Before.

The cast of Amazon’s upcoming horror series I Know What you Did Last Summer got a pleasant surprise during the series’ New York Comic Con panel Friday as the stars of the original 1997 film dropped by for some quick “fan questions.”

While appearances by Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Jennifer Love Hewitt were pleasant surprises for the Nycc audience, their words of encouragement and excitement meant more for the talent and creative team of the upcoming show.

“It feels like they’ve given us their blessing; that’s hugely meaningful to me and to all of us,” said showrunner Sarah Goodman. “The last thing we want to do is undermine what they’ve created. We moved to the next generation with full respect to the movie and to the actors that are in it.”

Set to debut October 15, the YA horror series is a modern take on the 1997 slasher.

It's been a while since anything was mentioned about the I Know What You Did Last Summer TV show, but thanks to Amazon's Comic-Con@Home panel, showrunner Sara Goodman teased what can be expected from the James Wan produced series which we now know will hit Amazon Prime Video in October 2021. It is around six months ago that news arrived of who would be starring in the series, including Madison Iseman, Biranne Tju, Sonya Balmores and Spencer Sutherland, but that was the last bit of information until today's announcement.

Amazon’s Comic-Con slot on Friday provided updates to for number of upcoming projects including its I Know What You Did Last Summer series.

The streamer revealed that the YA series, which is a modern take on the 1997 slasher, is set to debut in October, setting the scene for Halloween this year. The project is from py Sony Pictures Television and studio-based Original Film.

Written by Sara Goodman based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan, the I Know What You Did Last Summer series has the same premise as the movie adaptation – in a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.

Cast members are Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom and Bill Heck. Sonya Balmores and Spencer Sutherland are set to recur.
