South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festivals has confirmed its initial Featured Speakers for the 37th edition of its annual Conference. SXSW 2023 will take place March 10 – 19, 2023 in Austin, Texas.
“At SXSW, our goal is to always host a range of speakers who represent the full spectrum of the creative industries that converge in Austin every March,” Hugh Forrest, Chief Programming Officer, said in a statement. “Our initial group of Featured Speakers, which includes futurists like Amy Webb, lifelong activists and advocates such as Alexandra Reeve Givens and Cecile Richards, and athletic titan turned business leader Allyson Felix, marks a significant first step towards a phenomenal SXSW 2023.”

South by Southwest Conference and Festivals has announced that legendary singer-songwriter Willie Nelson will keynote this year’s virtual event, along with an initial lineup of featured speakers and over 230 conference sessions.
SXSW Online, taking place March 16–20, 2021, will feature conference sessions, music festival showcases, film festival screenings, and more.
“No individual has had the cultural impact on, or been more synonymous with the creative vibrancy of Austin than Willie Nelson, and we are incredibly honored to have him as a SXSW Online 2021 Keynote,” said Hugh Forrest, Chief Programming Officer. “In addition to dozens of incredible featured speakers, today’s announcement also includes more than 200 sessions curated from our global community via PanelPicker, and is a key part of the premium content you can expect from SXSW Online 2021.”
In addition to the Keynote and Featured Speakers announced today, SXSW has published over 230 programming sessions sourced from the community and curated by SXSW staff.

Like many festivals, South by Southwest (SXSW) is going online this year, which is a seamless transition considering the Austin-based festival has always included a large digital component. South by Southwest has unveiled additional keynote and featured speakers who will be attending the 34th edition of the conference which will be taking place March 13-22. Songwriter, musician and Pink Floyd founding member Roger Waters and producer, director and writer Erin Lee Carr have been set as keynotes for the Austin confab.
Legendary musician Waters composed Pink Floyd’s album, including seminal titles The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. Waters also produced, co-directed and co-wrote Roger Waters: The Wall, a personal road trip that deals with the loss that he has felt throughout his life due to war.
