Fighting Spirit Film Festival is proud to present its first online seminar, examining the cultural impact of martial arts films across the world, both in film and in society. Since the 1970s, martial arts films have spread across the globe – this seminar will look how their impact transcended film and moved into pop culture, and found unexpected popularity with minority communities in the West.
To help with this, Fighting Spirit Film Festival has assembled a panel of experts who will deep dive into the genre and discuss how these films spread globally, and also their own personal experiences.
The seminar will be chaired by by Fighting Spirit Film Festival Assistant Director Weng Yu and the panel members include: Marlon Palmer – Andrew Heskins – Josh Toussaint-Strauss – Meredith Lewis. The event is schediled for Sunday 23 August 2020, from 12:00 to 14.00 Bts. After the main discussion there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions to our panel.
