Nicholas Aikin

Born in Madrid to an English father (Neville James Aikin) and a Spanish mother (Helena Araluce), he was raised in England, attending St Edmund's College (Ware, Herts, UK) and Warwick University (West Midlands, UK) where he obtained a BA Degree with honors in Economics & International Studies. Thereafter, he returned to Spain and then traveled to the USA, eventually becoming involved in the production of country surveys for well-known British and American international media as a freelancer - a job that involved long travel throughout the world. Subsequently, in 2005, he settled down in Spain and specialized in the translation and adaptation of movie scripts for leading Spanish film production companies, whilst now and then writing articles that were published in EL DIARIO EXTERIOR. At all times assisted and supported by his spouse Laura Madridejos Soler, her sudden death in early 2019, having fallen prey to acute myeoloblastic leukemia, and the loss of their child, deeply grieved him. He is still actively involved in translations for the film industry and also intends to write a book based on his travels and experiences in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, etc.
