The Bet awards were handed out on June 24 at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles and aired live on the Bet network. Winners in the 17 competitive categories, which cover achievements in film, television, music and sports, were determined by Bet’s Voting Academy which is comprised of entertainment professionals and fans.

Below is the full and complete list of both winners and nominees for the 2018 Bet Awards, which were hosted by Jamie Foxx. In addition to these competitive awards, songstress Anita Baker was honored for her lifetime of achievement.

Trophies were handed out at the 18th annual Bet Awards Sunday night. Hosted by Academy Award-winning actor and Grammy Award-winning musician Jamie Foxx, the annual ceremony recognizes the triumphs and successes of Black artists, entertainers, and athletes in a variety of categories.

Breakout Tiffany Haddish and Chadwick Boseman won for Best Actress and Best Actor respectively while Black Panther was crowned with the Best Movie Award.

“The film is about our experience being African American and also being from Africa,” said director Ryan Coogler in his acceptance speech. “It was about tapping into that voice we always hear that tells us to be proud of who we are.”

“Black Panther” and its star Chadwick Boseman won Best Movie and Best Actor at the 2018 Bet Awards Sunday night, and Tiffany Haddish emerged as Best Actress for her breakout roles in multiple films, including “Girls Trip.”

Kendrick Lamar emerged as a big winner on the music front, winning Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Best Album for “Damn.”

Jamie Foxx hosted the ceremony at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater, with Anita Baker earning a lifetime achievement award, and Nicki Minaj (above) delivering a memorable musical performance.

The 2018 Bet Awards took place Sunday at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater, Kendrick Lamar taking home to most prizes, for best male hip hop artist and album of the year for “Damn.”

Beyonce was crowned the best female R&B/pop artist, and Cardi B won for best female hip hop artist.

Migos snagged the best group award, while Sza took home best new artist.

Jamie Foxx hosted the show. Anita Baker received the lifetime achievement award.

DJ Khaled
DJ Khaled and Kendrick Lamar topped this year’s Bet Awards nominations, with six and five nods, respectively, including video of the year, best collaboration, and album of the year.

Lamar has two noms in the album category for both his solo effort “Damn.” and “Black Panther: The Album,” which he spearheaded. DJ Khaled also has a record in the race with “Grateful,” plus more nominations for his collaborative work with Rihanna, Bryson Tiller, Jay-z, Future, and Beyonce, as well as his video for “Wild Thoughts.” Lamar was also recognized for his collaboration with Rihanna on “Loyalty” and the video for “Humble.” Both are also up for best male hip hop artist.

Other 2018 nominees include Migos, with four nods, including best group and album of the year; and Sza with four nods as well, including best female R&B/pop artist and best new artist.
