McDaniels will be honored for the work that he has done to combat the stigma of mental illness, including writing about mental health, depression and suicide in his book Ten Ways Not to Commit Suicide: A Memoir. The First Lady of New York City, Chirlane McCray will serve as special guest for the evening.

In addition to being honored, McDaniels will also give a special performance for guests of the evening.
