The next entry in the A Quiet Place film series will open in theaters for a summer 2027 release date, and original director John Krasinski is returning. A Quiet Place opened in April 2018 and became a surprise hit with critics and audiences, launching a new horror property for Paramount Pictures. Deadline reports that Paramount Pictures has dated A Quiet Place Part III for a July 9, 2027, release date. Krasinski, who directed the first two films in the franchise, will return to helm the third installment. A Quiet Place Part III Sets Summer 2027 Release — John Krasinski To Write And Direct
Image
Just when we thought it was finally safe to make a sound, it looks like John Krasinski isn't quite done with A Quiet Place yet. Having handed the reins of his sci-fi horror franchise over to Pig director Michael Sarnoski for last year's critically and commercially lauded prequel A Quiet Place: Day One, Krasinski took to Instagram earlier this evening to officially tease his return to the series' helm for A Quiet Place Part III. Check out the filmmaker's appropriately low-key stealth announcement below;

There you go: 9 July, 2027, A Quiet Place Part III. 'Nuff said. Well, pretty much. Per Deadline's additional coverage of the announcement that man's battle with a brutal horde of phonophobic extraterrestrials isn't over just yet, we do also know that Krasinski — despite having transitioned to a firmly off-screen role in the Aqpcu at the end of the franchise's first movie — is set to write, direct, and...

A Quiet Place 3 Release Date Confirmed As John Krasinski Will Return To Direct
Image
A Quiet Place Part III is on the way. The movie will be the fourth installment in the post-apocalyptic horror franchise, which takes place in a world where alien monsters who hunt by sound have hugely reduced Earth's population.

The first two movies were directed by, written (or co-written) by, and starred John Krasinski, who is likely best known as an actor for his small-screen roles in The Office and Jack Ryan. The most recent installment was 2024's A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel that was directed by Michael Sarnoski and starred Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn.

On his official Instagram account, John Krasinski confirmed that A Quiet Place Part III is set to debut on July 9, 2027. Additionally, Deadline confirms that Krasinski will be directing, writing, and producing the upcoming installment.

Platinum Dunes and Sunday Night Productions (which John Krasinski co-founded with Allyson Seeger in 2013) are behind the sequel.

Image
John Krasinski is officially returning to the franchise that catapulted him to A-list director status. Krasinski will write and direct A Quiet Place Part III, with Paramount setting a summer release date of July 9, 2027.

No cast is set, but the first two installments were led by Emily Blunt, Krasinski’s-real life wife, with their children played by Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe. Krasinski starred in the first film, released in 2018, and had a cameo in the second installment, which bowed in 2021.

Krasinski and Paramount have been flirting with the threquel for some time. The filmmaker announced in 2022 that the film was targeting a 2025 release, but that did not come to fruition. In the interim, he directed If for the studio.

‘A Quiet Place 3’ Sets July 2027 Release Date, John Krasinski Returns as Director
Image
Shhhh.

John Krasinski is returning as the director, writer and producer of “A Quiet Place Part III.”

The cast is not confirmed at this time, so it’s unclear if Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds, who co-starred with Krasinski in the first film, will return. If you don’t know what happens to Krasinski’s character, we won’t spoil it, but don’t expect a family reunion.

Plot details of the sequel are being kept under wraps, but we’re going out on a limb to guess that they involve alien creatures with very sharp hearing, and human beings who have to evade them on tiptoe while using their inside voices.

Paramount Pictures will release “A Quiet Place Part III” in theaters on July 9, 2027. Krasinski and Allyson Seeger’s Sunday Night Productions, which has a first-look deal with the studio, is producing along with Platinum Dunes.

A Quiet Place Part II: Ending Explained – Did Regan’s Discovery Change Everything?
Image
A Quiet Place Part II (2020) takes a different narrative approach than its predecessor by providing a glimpse into the world before it was overrun by the Death Angels. This expansion of the film’s universe allows the audience to witness a world that was once alive and filled with joyous people going about their daily lives. The movie paints a picture of normalcy, with scenes of people engaged in mundane tasks like grocery shopping or enjoying a child’s baseball game while sipping on their favorite beers. It’s a stark contrast to the desolation that follows.

Unfortunately, the world changes when an unidentified meteorite crashes, bringing with it the terrifying Death Angels. With their sharp teeth and extreme sensitivity to sound, these otherworldly creatures unleash chaos and carnage upon the world. The alien invaders swiftly consume the majority of the population, leaving the survivors with no option but to go into hiding.

Catch these four gems before they leave Netflix by mid-April

The world spins once on its axis and new movies come to Netflix. But with each new arrival, we must wave goodbye to something old.

I have no idea if there’s really a one-to-one ratio there, but it sounded good in my head.

In the first half of April, a quartet of excellent movies is among the remaining titles. If you haven’t seen any of them – or even if you have – you might want to catch these while you can.

I change my mind a lot, so I will not definitively claim that Joshua Oppenheimer’s 2012 film about mass executions in Indonesia in the mid-1960s is the greatest documentary ever made. ‘A Quiet Place’ Makers Want To Take The Story Global: Here’s What They Have In Mind

A Quiet Place Global Expansion (Photo Credit – Prime Video)

A Quiet Place is one of the most popular and engaging horror stories of recent years. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the co-creators of the film series, feel that there is a lot of untapped potential for the film’s setting to be placed internationally.

As reported by Collider, Beck and Woods would like to chart the global territory and see how people from different cultural backgrounds adapt to the horror-induced silence caused by the alien invasion. Beck said, “I think the one thing we’d really love to see is A Quiet Place in other countries with foreign language, you know, world international language, entwined in the script in a way that we haven’t seen. We’ve seen the Americana.”

Woods gave an example of South Korean director Bong Joon-ho and said that someone of his caliber, if not him,...

10 Intelligent Horror Movies That Aren't Just About Scares
Image
Since the very early days of motion pictures, horror movies have been doing everything they can to give their audiences the fright they crave. Of course, there is certainly more than one way that this spooky goal can be achieved. Many horror movies employ a rather straightforward approach; using jump scares, gore, and other startling images to give their viewers an immediate sense of fear. This tactic can definitely be quite effective when done properly, but this is also not a style that everyone is bound to enjoy.

Fortunately, there is another style of horror-based filmmaking that is generally much more appealing to viewers who may not love having overwhelming amounts of gore or jump scares in their movies. Several modern horror films, but also many of the classics, use a much more intelligent approach, relying on carefully crafted scenarios that can thoroughly unnerve their audiences without depending on these overused elements.

10 Most Underrated Performances in Horror Movies
Image
As much as the horror genre is appreciated around the world, it happens, from time to time, to underestimate the artistic value behind it. The immediate thrills in these movies; blood-curling plot twists, jump scares, and shocking finales - tend to overshadow other elements, one of these being the intense performances within them.

Nevertheless, a few powerful portrayals managed to steal the scenes and become career-defining moments for some horror movie actors. They earned the recognition they deserved. For instance, few would claim that Jack Nicholson's unhinged performance in The Shining is underrated. However, many others, for various reasons, have fallen victim to the genre’s tendency to overlook its quieter elements. These performances, despite being captivating and intense, have been buried either under the films' exterior spectacle or shock factors. As a consequence, they remain underrated gems of horror films.

Thanks to the talents of horror maestros like Jordan Peele, James Wan, Ari Aster, and Robert Eggers, the genre finally feels exciting again.

It's Been 6 Years Since A Quiet Place, Can We Admit The Truth About The Spaceship Kid's Death?
Image
John Krasinski's post-apocalyptic horror has been a sensation since the premiere of part one, A Quiet Place (2018), but there's one undeniable truth about the first movie. A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II center around the Abbott family, who are navigating survival in a city overrun by swarms of extraterrestrial predators that hunt by sound. There are disastrous consequences for the Abbott family's youngest, Beau (Cade Woodward) who is killed when his toy spaceship activates and erupts in a cascade of sounds.

These A Quiet Place events are set years ahead of the prequel story that was released in 2024, A Quiet Place: Day One. Communicating mostly through American sign language, the Abbott family's dynamic is remarkable and adds a layer of depth to the horror that's often central to driving the plot forward. More detailed explorations of the Death Angels are offered throughout each movie, which unearths...

Halloween Horror Nights 2024 advertises itself as home to a ground-breaking haunted house incorporating American Sign Language (Asl) “for the very first time.”

That’s a tough claim to prove considering the scope of the country’s Halloween scene and the countless underground attractions hidden therein. But at least at Universal Studios’ mega-popular annual event, the new “A Quiet Place” experience is indeed making history.

“What I was so impressed by when I first saw John Krasinski’s film was the level of detail that he went to to tell an authentic story, particularly with the character of Regan,” creative director John Murdy told IndieWire during the event’s opening night on September 5 at Universal Studios Hollywood. (The attraction is available at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando as well.)

“We wanted to be equally authentic in our telling of the story of his film and we went to our own great lengths to do that,...

A Quiet Place's New $245 Million Hit Helps Prove A Quiet Place 3 Can't Be The End
Image
A Quiet Place: Day One proves the franchise can expand without the Abbott family, introducing new compelling characters like Sam and Eric. The success of A Quiet Place: Day One at the box office shows the potential for prequels, sequels, and spinoffs in the franchise. A Quiet Place 3 can conclude the Abbotts' story while leaving room for the universe to continue with new characters and settings.

A Quiet Place 3 can't be the end of the franchise now, as A Quiet Place: Day One proves there is still more to explore. Six years after John Krasinski, Scott Beck, and Bryan Woods successfully launched a new sci-fi/horror series, the universe expanded beyond the confines of the Abbott family by making a prequel. The idea of seeing when the aliens first invaded made A Quiet Place: Day One an exciting new story for the franchise. But with the Abbott family's return being...

A Quiet Place (2018) Cleverly Hides 1 Subtle Detail in a Thrilling Scene That’ll Convince Every Fan of John Krasinski’s Genius
Image
John Krasinski’s sci-fi horror movie, A Quiet Place, was a massive commercial and critical success. The popularity of the franchise guaranteed a sequel and a prequel, with the latest installment, A Quiet Place: Day One, just arriving in theaters last month.

John Krasinski in A Quiet Place / Paramount Pictures

The premise is easy to understand: one should avoid making noise to not attract the sound-sensitive aliens, or else, they face immediate death. The first movie showed what life was like post-apocalypse, and many might have missed this one brilliant Easter egg.

One Type Of Food Was Left Untouched In 2018’s A Quiet Place

In 2018’s A Quiet Place starring John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, the Abbott family was seen scouring for essential supplies at an abandoned supermarket. Most of the shelves were emptied, but one aisle seemingly looked untouched.

Does A Quiet Place Make Any Sense, and Does it Matter?
Image
A Quiet Place franchise explores a world where deadly aliens called Death Angels hear the slightest sounds, leading to inconsistencies in their hearing abilities. Plot holes include how humans survive without loud generators, birds and rodents still exist, and how bodily sounds factor into the films. Despite inconsistencies, the films' atmosphere and character struggles create a terrifying experience, making the world's restrictions enjoyable for viewers.

A Quiet Place: Day One recently hit theaters, and the apocalyptic world full of deadly creatures who kill anything that makes the slightest of sounds already has audiences stifling their screams. The third installment in the franchise, Day One, aptly chronicles the first day aliens, known as Death Angels, crash-landed on Earth and subsequently destroyed civilization. It follows Sams (Lupita Nyong'o) story as she navigates New York City with her cat Frodo and an unlikely friend, Eric (Joseph Quinn), whom she meets after the vicious...

Spoiler Alert!Spoiler Warning for A Quiet Place: Day One

A Quiet Place: Day One ended with a shocking yet emotional scene, but the great thing about it is that it opens for discussion of a sequel. How ‘A Quiet Place’ Became One of Horror’s Most Reliable Box Office Franchises
Image
“A Quiet Place” has become a horror franchise with few equals.

The third entry in Paramount’s post-apocalyptic series, “A Quiet Place: Day One,” beat expectations with $53 million domestically and $98 million globally in its box office debut. It landed the best start of the three films, above the original 2018 “A Quiet Place,” ($50 million in its opening) and the 2021 sequel, “A Quiet Place Part II”. The enduring appeal of the trio of films, the most recent entry serving as an origin story, signals that “A Quiet Place” has enough power to fill seats at multiplexes based on the strength of its name. It joins the company of other big horror properties, like “The Conjuring,” “Paranormal Activity” and “Insidious,” all of which remain popular but have experienced some diminishing returns over the course of many sequels and spinoffs.

“There have been bigger horror movies,” says David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research,...

Im Sorry But the Kid at the Start of 'A Quiet Place' Deserved It
Image
The opening scene of 2018's A Quiet Place is a masterful setup of the horrors of the world the Abbott family lives in, where any noise has the potential to lure deadly aliens that have landed on Earth, which is particularly impressive given we know nothing about what exactly happened 89 days prior to the film. The Abbott's are in a pharmacy, taking whatever supplies they can bring home. The youngest, Beau (Cade Woodward), finds a toy space shuttle and wants to keep it, but he can't: it makes noise. Their deaf daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds), however, goes all "whatever, boomer" and takes out the toy's batteries and gives Beau the toy. Only Beau grabs the batteries, and on the walk home, he puts them back in, sets off the toy, and Boom! No more Beau, who has been picked up by one of the aliens for a snack.

One A Quiet Place: Day One Character Connects The Prequel To The Original Films
Image
This article contains spoilers for "A Quiet Place: Day One."

John Krasinski became a household name as an actor, and solidified his place in pop culture history by playing Jim Halpert on "The Office," but he's also become synonymous with what has become one of the strongest horror franchises in recent memory, "A Quiet Place." Directed by Krasinski and with a script co-written with Bryan Woods and Scott Beck, the first film was a huge hit and inspired a sequel that helped resurrect the box office after the quarantine era of the pandemic. The first two films focused on the Abbott family who have survived in large part because they live on an isolated farm in the middle of a forest and all communicate using American sign language as daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds) is Deaf. Their story wrapped up in "A Quiet Place II," meaning any additional films set in...

The Best Character In A Quiet Place: Day One Isn't A Human (Or An Alien)
Image
Warning: This article contains spoilers for "A Quiet Place: Day One."

Thanks to the efforts of John Krasinski, the "A Quiet Place" franchise has managed to boast quite a formidable call sheet of A-listers and talented character actors alike. In addition to Krasinski in the first film, the cast included talents such as Emily Blunt (who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in "Oppenheimer" and, of course, is married to Krasinski in real life), the scene-stealing Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe to round out the nuclear family. The 2021 sequel added recent Best Actor-winning "Oppenheimer" star Cillian Murphy, Djimon Hounsou, and even Scoot McNairy. The prequel film "Day One," which /Film's Chris Evangelista pegged as the best of the series in his review, might have started from scratch with almost a whole new cast (one exception is that Hounsou reprises his role from "A Quiet Place Part II"), but writer/director...

A Quiet Place: Day One's Rotten Tomatoes Debut Score Is Worthy of the Original Duology
Image
The A Quiet Place franchise took a different approach to the horror subgenre with its focus on characters, following a family trying to survive the apocalypse. The two films were very successful that they spawned a prequel titled A Quiet Place: Day One, whose Rotten Tomatoes debut seems to be worthy of the franchise.

A Quiet Place: Day One's score on Rotten Tomatoes has just been revealed, debuting on the review aggregator website with 87% from 55 reviews. The score is highly encouraging, given that the original duology had a score higher than 90% from the critics and the audience. Of course, the new entry in the franchise's score might change as new reviews come in, but it's up to a great start, as the first reactions for Day One had already been positive.

A Quiet Place: Day One Review
Image
Plot: A woman named Sam (Lupita Nyong’o) finds herself trapped in New York City at the start of the alien invasion depicted in the first two Quiet Place movies.

Review: A quick word of warning before I get into my review. Paramount has been pretty smart about avoiding any Spoilers for this movie, so if you want to go in fresh without knowing anything about it other than whether or not it’s good, I’ll save you the rest of the review. I enjoyed it. It’s not quite as good as the first two movies, but it’s a solid prequel that shares the same DNA as the other movies, delivering a surprisingly affecting human story amid all the carnage.

Still with me? Ok, without getting too much into spoiler territory, Michael Sarnoski’s prequel to the John Krasinski movies has a more dramatic bent than the other two films.

A Quiet Place: Day One Final Trailer Tells You To "Shut The F*#k Up And Go See This Movie Immediately"
Image
A Quiet Place: Day One hits theaters this weekend and to offer one last look, Paramount Pictures has released the official final trailer, which is every bit as chilling as you'd expect and also features a few glowing early reactions .

Outside of the film taking place during the first day of the alien invasion, further plot details are not yet known, but we'll all find out soon enough.

While the most recent chapter, which released in 2021, revealed some of what happened on Day One, mainly showcasing how the Abbott family managed to survive the meteor crash and subsequent alien invasion, the prequel will follow an entirely new batch of characters as they do their best to quietly make it out of New York alive.

A Quiet Place: Day One is currently tracking for a $42 million plus opening weekend domestically, which would be a pretty stellar launch considering the film's relatively modest $67 million production budget.

5 Ways To Beat the Creatures from A Quiet Place Based on the First Two Movies - Main Image

A Quiet Place: Day One Stars Reveal How the Prequel Film's Concept Came About
Image
Quiet Place: Day One takes fans back to how the alien invasion within the acclaimed titular film series started. The film's stars and the eponymous franchise's director, John Krasinski, reveal how the Day One concept evolved.

Per DiscussingFilm, a featurette previewing Day One saw actors Lupita Nyong'o, Joseph Quinn and Djimon Hounsou, as well as Krasinski, speaking about how the prequel movie originated, plus the creative process involved during production. All three credited director Michael Sarnoski for bringing "something unique" to proceedings when Krasinski selected him to lead the film. Sarnoski said Krasinski "gave him a lot of freedom" to create a fresh origin story within the A Quiet Place franchise. Meanwhile, Nyong'o claimed the helmer "totally dismantled" the typical thriller genre formula. Quinn emphasized the "other layer" Sarnoski added, making the upcoming film "darker" and "scarier" than prior franchise installments.

A Quiet Place: Day One May Have a Big Problem Before Its Release
Image
Quick Links The Story of A Quiet Place So Far A Quiet Place Is a Standout Among Modern Horror The Problem With Establishing New Storylines and Characters The A Quiet Place franchise's success is attributed to its focus on the Abbott family's survival story in extreme conditions. The upcoming spin-off, A Quiet Place: Day One, introduces new characters dealing with the initial alien invasion, with a different director. While expanding the universe makes sense from a marketing perspective, viewers may struggle to connect with new characters outside of the Abbott family's story.

The A Quiet Place franchise is one of modern horror's most iconic properties. Written, directed by, and starring John Krasinski, the movies tell the story of the Abbott family's struggle to survive in silence after an invasion of aliens with heightened hearing. In addition to Krasinski and real-life wife Emily Blunt, the main cast also features Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe.
