Natalie Archambaud Chao is a filmmaker and cinematographer who recently finished her B.A degree in Film Production at the USC School Of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Hong Kong her entire life, she searched for a means to articulate her thoughts and attitudes in a city that was caught in perpetual change. Film naturally became her consummate mode of expression. Behind the camera, she felt entirely comfortable in encapsulating her world with all its incongruities. Over the years, themes pertaining to time and space have persisted in in all of her work, as she continues to explore how memory, nostalgia and transience are inevitably present in both our mundane and extraordinary lives. She hopes to be able to train her observational eye both in directing and shooting a mix of narrative and documentary work. Her goal is to bridge the gap between realism and poetic imagery in order to tell stories through the female gaze.
