‘Slay’ – The Importance of Drag As Expression in Tubi’s New Original
Image
“There’s some whores in this house!” blasts from the speakers. The stage lights brighten, and the queens strut out onstage. In Jem Garrard’s camp classic Slay, a Tubi original that dropped earlier this year, four drag queens – Mama Sue Flay (Trinity the Tuck), Robin Banks (Heidi N Closet), Bella Da Boys (Crystal Methyd), and Olive Wood (Cara Melle) – descend upon a sleazy redneck dive to deliver the performance of their lives.

Set to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wap,” the salacious musical number bursts at the seams with the magic of queerness, drag performance, and community. As our dolled-up and dazzling quartet flits and flutters around the stage, the crowd looks on in both wonder and disgust. South African Feature ‘Good Life’ Set for U.S. Release Via Level 33 (Exclusive)
Image
Award-winning South African drama “Good Life” is set for a U.S. release after sales agent Angel Oak Films inked a deal with distributor Level 33.

Set in Cape Town and Greece, “Good Life” tells the story of Olive Papadopoulous (played by Erica Wessels), a thirty-something year-old with a broken heart. Fleeing to a small town in Greece, she finds herself even more miserable thanks to the villagers’ hostility – until she hires a 7-year-old Albanian refugee, Jet (played by Caleb Payne) as her guide and negotiator. Before long, Jet becomes her friend too, teaching Olive how to live a “good life.”

Robyn Scott (“After Life of The Party”), Leon Clingman (“The Mauritanian”), Marco Mintaka (“What Lies Beneath”) and Sven Ruygrok (“Around the World in 80 Days”) also star in the film.

“Good Life” was written, directed and produced by Bonnie Rodini and is loosely based on Rodini’s own experiences. It represents her directorial feature debut.

Victoria Justice in Afterlife of the Party (2021)
Victoria Justice Wants to Be an Angel in 'Afterlife of the Party' Trailer
Victoria Justice in Afterlife of the Party (2021)
"You have a whole world out there and you are missing it!" Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for a quirky comedy called Afterlife of the Party, featuring Victoria Justice as a "party planner and social butterfly" who heads to the afterlife after a birthday accident. Most surprisingly, this is a new film directed by the director of such classics as Critters, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, The Mighty Ducks, The Three Musketeers, and Mr. Holland's Opus. Though he hasn't made much of a mark in the last decade. After finding herself in the afterlife, Cassie is given a second chance to right her wrongs on Earth within five days by reconnecting with loved ones, and most importantly, prove she's worthy enough to get into the big VIP room in the sky. Justice stars with Midori Francis, Robyn Scott, Adam Garcia, Timothy Renouf, Gloria Garcia,...
