Hey, Sweet Magnolias fans, let's raise our glasses in celebration as we welcome new additions to the family. Season 5 of the Netflix drama series will feature an expanded setting following Maddie's (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) relocation to New York City. Filming for the new season is currently underway in Atlanta and the Big Apple, and now, a new set of cast members has been revealed. The Sopranos star, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, has joined the series in a new role that will see her play an important role in Maddie's life as she's away from her besties, Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott) and Helen (Heather Headley), pursuing her dreams in a new city.

One of Netflix's most beloved series, Sweet Magnolias, is set to return with Season 5. The series will feature some changes, including new characters and a new location.

The romantic drama, based on Sherryl Woods' novels of the same name, premiered on Netflix in 2020. The series released its most recent season on Feb. 6, 2025, and Netflix renewed Sweet Magnolias for Season 5. The new season is currently in production, and Tudum officially revealed that Season 5 will welcome new additions, including The Sopranos' Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

In the hit HBO series, which aired from 1999 to 2007, Sigler played Meadow Soprano, Tony's firstborn child. Since then, she starred in several other series, most recently in Big Sky. Now, she has lined up a new role in Sweet Magnolias.

A supernatural horror drama series, the American Horror Stories TV show is a spin-off of the long-running American Horror Story anthology series which was created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. While American Horror Story tells tales that run for a full season of episodes, the spin-off is a weekly anthology series that features a different horror story in each episode. Exclusive: The independent film Mama Duck, a dark comedy written and directed by the award-winning team of Jack Gorman and Shannon Walsh, is set to begin production on July 6, 2024, in the Greater Los Angeles area. Catharine Daddario and Austin Woods are attached to star alongside Walsh.

Mama Duck follows Caeli (Walsh), an aspiring animator who moves across the country to escape her overbearing family. Her promising new start is derailed by the reappearance of her college sweetheart Sabrina (Daddario) and the news of her brother Jake’s (Woods) cancer diagnosis, forcing her to confront the delicate balance between her personal struggles and the pursuit of her dreams.

Mama Duck expands on the themes explored in Gorman and Walsh’s highly-acclaimed short, A Dinner. Gorman and Walsh were named Top 10 Filmmakers to Watch by the Hollywood Times ahead of the 2023 Los Angeles Independent Film Festival.

Pinnacle Peak Pictures is bringing a slate of faith-based films to the Cannes market, including a new installment in the “God’s Not Dead” franchise.

Entitled “God’s Not Dead: In God We Trust,” the film will be released theatrically in the U.S. this fall, but, like the rest of Pinnacle’s slate, foreign territories are available to buyers. The new “God’s Not Dead” film follows the series’ protagonist, Rev. David Hill (played once again by David A.R. White), who, with the help of a skilled political strategist, runs for political office on a platform of preserving “religious freedom” and healing divisions. The cast also includes Dean Cain, who appeared in the first film in the franchise and is best known for “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” as well as Isaiah Washington (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and Ray Wise (“X-Men: First Class”).

The upcoming trailer for Season 3 of American Horror Stories offers a tantalizing glimpse into a fresh collection of chilling horror stories set to debut just in time for Halloween, scheduled for release on October 26. In what is teased as a Huluween Event, the four-episode special is a spinoff from the creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, known for their work on American Horror Story. American Horror Stories is an anthology series, each episode bringing forth a distinct horror episode. The trailer teases the four episodes named: Bestie, Daphne, Tapeworm, and Organ -- all of which are scheduled for release on October 26.

FX previews, “Dark, twisted tales are coming with a four-episode Huluween event from FX’s American Horror Stories. Premiering Thursday, October 26. Exclusively on Hulu.”

The episodes are titled “Daphne,” “Tapeworm,” “Organ” and “Bestie,” and you can preview all four brand new “freakish tales” by watching the official trailer down below.

Ryan Murphy’s spinoff “American Horror Stories” is coming back for Season 3, and Deadline reports this week that Lisa Rinna (“Real Housewives”) will appear in the new season.

Rinna will star in an episode of Season 3 titled “Tapeworm,” Deadline reports.

The site also notes, “Rinna has concluded most of the filming and is back in LA.”
