With both Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man being the premier battle anime of the past few years, it is inevitable that comparisons will be drawn between the two. One of the 2010s most consumed isekai anime series is making a comeback after years of radio silence. Initially revealed at Aniplex Online Fest 2024, a new trailer and some key art have been released for the series' next installment, Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online 2. The story is based on the spinoff novels by Keiichi Sigsawa and Kohaku Kuroboshi. Masayuki Sakoi, best known for Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious, is attached to direct, while Yosuke Kuroda and Yoshio Kozakai have returned from the first Gun Gale Online series run as series composer and character designer, respectively.

The main cast of Sword Art Online is "tea-ing" up for their next adventure in a breathtaking collaboration with luxury tableware maker Noritake. An exquisite lineup of cups and saucers will feature imagery inspired by Kirito, Asuna and more.

Currently available via the Arma Bianca online store, the collaboration between Sword Art Online and Noritake features character-themed drinkware based on the anime TV series. The extravagant collection comes in three sets of two: Kirito and Asuna, Asuna and Konno Yuuki, and Kirito and Eugeo. Look Back, the anime movie adaptation of the one-shot manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man), will officially premiere in Japan on June 28, 2024. However, North American anime fans will also soon have the chance to watch the animated movie.

Anime Expo announced on its official X (formerly Twitter) account that it will host the first United States screening of Look Back at this year's convention. Avex Pictures and "special guests" will attend the special U.S. screening of the film and have behind-the-scenes discussions as well. The original series has been ongoing since 2017, with the light novel series currently consisting of 14 volumes illustrated by Yoshinori Shizuma.
