MrBeast crosses 300 million YouTube subscribers. He got 50 of the top creators in the world to compete for $1 million to (kinda) celebrate.
Image
Jimmy Donaldson and his MrBeast YouTube channel are on a recent spree of checking off lifetime online video accomplishments like they’re something on a daily to-do list.

Pass T-Series to become the most subscribed YouTube channel of all time. MrBeast passed the Indian multimedia conglomerate on June 2, 2024, 1,876 days after T-Series passed PewDiePie to claim #1 spot. Claim 28 million subscribers in one month on YouTube. In his stratospheric ascent to have the #1 most subscribed YouTube channel in the world, Donaldson racked up an incredible 28 million additional subscribers in June 2024. But what’s almost unbelievable is 24 million of the 28 million subscribers came after MrBeast had already surpassed T-Series. Become the first YouTube channel ever to cross 300 million subscribers. It only took Jimmy 38 days to go from 270 million (when MrBeast passed T-Series) to 300 million subscribers. That averages out to 789,473 subscribers per day, 32,894 per hour, 548 per minute, and 9.137 subscribers every second. Make his “biggest...

700,000 live viewers tune in as YouTube groups Amp, Beta Squad hold charity soccer match
Image
Another day, another high-profile soccer match featuring YouTube celebrities.

On June 2, members of the Amp and Beta Squad groups took the pitch at Selhurst Park, the home of London-based Premier League side Crystal Palace. Led by stars like Kai Cenat and Chunkz, the two teams contested an entertaining (if chaotic) 90-minute match that included 12 goals, a pitch invasion, appearances from pro footballers, and a live audience that included 700,000 concurrent viewers on YouTube.

Like the annual soccer matches put on by the U.K. creator group Sidemen, the showdown between Amp and Beta Squad benefitted a good cause. Viewers were encouraged to give to a fundraiser supporting The Water Project, which provides communities in need with potable drinking water.

To bring visibility to their charitable mission, the two groups assembled star-studded sides filled with some of YouTube’s biggest names. Beta Squad, a group of “ordinary” creators who entertain nearly ten...

The hotly anticipated match took place at the sold-out Old Trafford stadium in Manchester – welcoming back over 63,000 fans to the same venue that hosted the very first Soccer Aid for Unicef match in 2006. The match ended 4-2 to Soccer Aid World XI, with the team keeping the overall lead with 7-5 wins since the inaugural 2006 match.

Image
Click here to read the full article.

The comedic series, which Dimoldenberg created in 2014, has featured guests like Keke Palmer, Jack Harlow, Daniel Kaluuya, Charli Xcx, Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy. But Dimoldenberg’s February interview with the documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux helped raise the online series’ popularity to new heights after a clip of Theroux rapping on the episode was later paired with music and turned into a bona fide song by the duo Duke & Jones. (The latest version of the song, with Jason Derulo, features Theroux and Dimoldenberg in its accompanying music video.)

In addition to Chicken Shop Date, Dimoldenberg also hosts the YouTube series Amelia’s Cooking Show, where she and a guest cook a meal using five ingredients. Past guests have included Starstruck creator and star...
