A couple years ago, Spider One – the frontman of Powerman 5000 and the brother of fellow musician/filmmaker Rob Zombie – made his feature directorial debut with the horror anthology Allegoria. Last year, his second feature – a horror film called Bury the Bride – was released through the Tubi streaming service. His third film, which is called Little Bites, recently secured a worldwide distribution deal through Rlje Films and the Shudder streaming service – and, having received a theatrical and VOD release in October, Little Bites is now set to start streaming on Shudder as of February 21st!
Written and directed by Spider One, Little Bites centers on Mindy, a young widow and mother who tries to protect her daughter Alice from a flesh eating monster named Agyar. Mindy has been secretly sacrificing her own life by allowing the creature to feast on her body as she keeps Alice hidden away at her grandmother’s house.

Monsters as metaphors are nothing new to the world of fiction, allowing creators to find novel ways to explore the unknown through horror tropes. The genre has seen a surplus of films using this device in the 10 years since Jennifer Kent’s The Babadook was released to critical and commercial success, and we can now add Spider One‘s Little Bites to the list. It’s a well-intentioned film, with the musician-turned-filmmaker delivering a visually striking parental horror film that boasts a strong lead performance, but it suffers from a transparent script and some severe pacing issues.

"It turns out monsters are real... and there's own downstairs." Rlje Flms has revealed the creepy official trailer for an indie horror film titled Little Bites, made by a filmmaker known as "Spider One". It's set for a release in October just in time for horror season. And it will premiere at 2024 Fantastic Fest and Sitges Film Festivals this fall. In a desperate attempt to protect her 10 year old daughter, a widow allows a nightmarish monster to slowly eat her alive. Desperate to protect her young daughter at all costs, Mindy enters into an unusual agreement with a grotesque creature. Taking the concept of motherly self-sacrifice to the extreme, she keeps the creature at bay by feeding him with her own flesh. But exactly how long can she keep up with the monster’s demands before she snaps? This stars Krsy Fox, Jon Sklaroff, Elizabeth Caro, Barbara Crampton, Heather Langenkamp,...

A theatrical release date for Spider One's upcoming horror flick Little Bites has been set. Rlje Films and Shudder have acquired worldwide rights to the film, and Rlje has decided to set a release in theaters for Oct. 4, 2024. The movie will also be available to stream on Shudder at a later date.
We first learned of Little Bites back in June 2023 when it was announced that mother-and-son duo Cher and Chaz Bono would be coming together to executive produce it. Spider One was revealed to be writing the script and would also be directing, with OneFox Productions producing.
Besides being an executive producer, Bono also stars in the horror flick. The plot revolves around a widower and mother who, to protect her daughter from a flesh-eating monster, sacrifices her own body by letting the creature feed off of her. Meanwhile, she keeps her daughter hidden far away at her grandmother’s.
