Charming The Hearts Of Men is a romantic drama set during the politically charged early 60s where a sophisticated woman returns to her Southern home town and discovers her options are limited yet discrimination is plentiful. Exclusive: Gravitas Ventures has acquired North American distribution rights to Charming the Hearts of Men, an indie dramedy written and directed by S.E. DeRose. Kelsey Grammer, Anna Friel, Sean Astin, Aml Ameen and Dianne Ladd star in the pic, which will get a day-and-date theatrical and on-demand release August 13, 2021.

In the plot, described as a fictional account inspired by true events and set in the politically charged 1960s, Grammer plays a Southern congressman who meets Grace (Friel), who has returned home due to the sudden death of her father and finds life as she knew it has changed. She is thrust into the uncomfortable realization that she and the marginalized women she encounters are part of a society in which they have little hope and virtually no power without a male provider. Eric Roberts and Dr. Rico Simonini will topline My Dinner With Eric Roberts (Julia’s brother), a platonic rom-com bromance that will be shooting this month in Los Angeles. Described as along the lines of Louie Malle’s My Dinner With Andre, the film follows Roberts having dinner with his cardiologist and friend, Dr. Rico and evolves into their deep passionate friendship and how their lives are intertwined. The pic was written by Roberts, Simonini, Eliza Roberts and Darryl Marshak. Eliza Roberts and Marshak are directing and producing the project with Sarbori Bhattacharya, Joe Levy, and Sambhu Choifhury serving as executive producers.

The Maze Runner‘s Aml Ameen has boarded Susan DeRose’s drama, Charming the Hearts of Men, with Kelsey Grammer, Anna Friel, and Sean Astin. It’s said to be a fictional account inspired by true events. The story is about a woman who struggles to find gainful employment at the time of the Civil Rights movement and her only skill is her “charm.” Richard T Lewis is producing the project which is currently filming in Georgia. Ameen, last seen in Idris Elba’s directorial debut film, Yardie, will play Walter, the Congressman’s (Grammer) chauffeur and confidant.
