Big viewers of the CW in the 2010's may have caught this reunion in Maggie Q's newest show Ballard, a spin-off of the wildly popular Bosch. In Ballard, Q reunited with her Nikita co-star Noah Bean. Q played the titular role of Nikita and Bean played Ryan Fletcher. When talking with Collider's Aidan Kelley at the premiere of Ballard, Bean reminisced about his time with Q on Nikita as well as the energy that she brought to the set of Ballard. He explains his character, Jake Pearlman, a city councilman, brings together the cold case team Detective Renee Ballard is now on as she navigates her new place in the LAPD. He says "it was like a total homecoming." As Bean explains, there were similarities as he worked on Ballard between his and Q's characters on both that show and Nikita.

In a recent appearance at Fan Expo Philadelphia, Superman & Lois actress Bitsie Tulloch discussed why she feels the show stands out in a sea of other Superman adaptations. Along with Tulloch, the series starred Tyler Hoechlin as a slightly older Superman, while their sons, Jonathan and Jordan, were played by Michael Bishop and Alex Garfin, respectively. As a result, Superman & Lois focused more on how Lois and Clark would adapt to the challenges of parenthood, cancer, and other more realistic life problems.
During a panel moderated by Screen Rant's Joe Deckelmeier called "Being Super With The Cast Of Superman & Lois," Tulloch explained: "Even in the pilot episode, it just was so grounded, and, you know, we had the benefit and the luck and grace of being parents to teenagers." She then pointed out how "especially [in] season one" the show focused "on Jordan's social anxiety disorder" and another heavy topic such as Lois miscarrying.

Superman & Loisstar Michael Cudlitz recently unpacked how it felt to take on the iconic role of Lex Luthor as well as how the fan response to his portrayal affected him. The actor debuted his brutal version of the DC villain in season 3 before becoming a more prominent presence in season 4 after joining the main cast. Other stars include Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman, Bitsie Tulloch as Lois Lane, Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent, and Michael Bishop as Jonathan Kent, among others.
As part of the "Being Super With The Cast Of Superman & Lois" panel moderated by Screen Rant's Joe Deckelmeier at Fan Expo Philadelphia, Cudlitz explained why he felt fan response mattered less than knowing he performed the part well. Quick LinksSmallville Made One Massive MistakeSuperman & Lois Also Failed With Super SpeedOnly One Show Offered a True Depiction
When it first debuted in 2001, Smallville promised to be something new. It was a full-scale origin story that would play out throughout 10 seasons. In doing so, it would offer a semi-serious depiction of Superman's story, which would share a generation of superhero movies and shows. Tom Welling would become a definitive Superman, despite never getting the chance to spend a full episode in a cape. Much of the show was actually dedicated to the famous "No Flights, No Tights" rule. While it was eventually twisted to allow Superman to finally fly, the showrunners generally stuck by that edict.
Because Clark was so young when the show began, he was also slow to develop his powers. He developed X-ray vision, heat vision, enhanced hearing, a cold breath, and everything else that the Man of Steel is known for.

The significance of this parting resonates powerfully as Superman & Lois enters its fourth and final season. In a genre that is often resistant to closure, this series provides a poignant anomaly—a conclusion.
The narrative picks up from Season 3’s finale, in which Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) encounters the terrifying Doomsday and plunges us into a cyclone of loss and sacrifice. This season delves into the complexities of a hero’s identity and morals and his resurrection.
What does it mean to protect one’s family at the cost of one’s essence? Clark’s quest becomes a metaphysical maze, skirting the line between heroism and selfishness (what one would call “heroic narcissism”).
Doomsday represents interior worries like loss of control and inadequacy. As the series finishes, it challenges viewers to reflect on the nature of heroism in a world that is becoming increasingly wicked. Is it about defeating opponents or confronting our demons?...

Though John Henry Irons, aka Steel, did suit-up in Superman and Lois, his costume turned out to be a pretty generic-looking grey suit of armor. Now, actor Wolé Parks has revealed that his character was originally supposed to debut a more comic-accurate design.
Parks shared a first look at the unused costume to Instagram, and while it's not exactly the same as Steel's comic book suit, it does have the red cape and "S" chest emblem.
"The question I got most was when are they gonna introduce the full Steel suit," said Parks. "I'd always say that it's coming. Unfortunately, due to the budget cuts we never got to do it but here's an early fitting as proof."

After four successful seasons, Superman & Lois has finally come to an end. Debuting on The CW in February 2021, the series followed Clark Kent/Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and wife Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) as they raise their twin sons, Jonathan and Jordan (Alex Garfin), in Smallville while the boys both learn their dad is Superman and that they, too, might have powers. Ahead of Season 4, it was confirmed it would be their final season, so Superman & Lois got to do what no other Superman adaptation got to do: give the hero's story a proper ending.
Following the finale, showrunners Todd Helbing and Brent Fletcher broke down the ambitious ending to Deadline and their decision to give the character a true farewell. "In the history of Superman, he is in a lot of ways immortal, right? He's gonna live forever. He's gonna outlive Lois. He's gonna outlive his boys. But in this version,...

The following contains spoilers for Superman & Lois Season 4, Episode 10, "It Went By So Fast."
Superman & Lois ended its four-season run with a rollercoaster of a series finale. While the episode includes many emotional moments, showrunners Brent Fletcher and Todd Helbing, say Doomsday's death was the most poetic.
Doomsday, also known as Bizarro Superman, dies after facing off with Superman one final time. After he was defeated, the antagonist sent his evil counterpart into the sun. "I think by the end, Doomsday's life had been denigrated down to just pain, suffering, dying, and hate," Fletcher told ComicBook about the character's merciful death. "He was always raging. And so, what the end is for us, I think, is release. Release from all the hatred and the pain, and an acknowledgment between these two that they shared something."

If you haven't watched the episode yet, major spoilers follow.
As expected, the episode featured a final confrontation between the Man of Steel and Lex Luthor, whose rage and thirst for revenge ultimately proved to be his undoing.
With Superman busy doing battle with Doomsday, a power-suited Luthor pinned Jordan to the ground and proceeded to choke the life out of the teen. Lois then intervened, taunting Lex about how he's always been terrified of her, and provoking him into getting just close enough for her to plant an explosive on his armor.

The “Superman & Lois” showrunners knew they had a steep assignment crafting the ending for their CW adaptation of the caped superhero’s story. They were not scared to break the mold when wrapping their series after four seasons.
And they delivered. The cast of Superman & Lois reflect the more mature ages of the Superman mythos' characters compared to most versions. Set within the CW's sprawling Arrowverse, Superman & Lois describes the adventures of an older, more experienced iteration of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, who are already married with two children, Jonathan and Jordan Kent. By the start of the first season, set in release year 2021, both Clark and Lois have already had time to gather years of experience in the field as a superhero and star reporter, respectively.
Unlike many other CW dramas, the cast of Superman & Lois have actually been incredibly thoughtful when it comes to casting. All El is about to break loose in Smallville as Superman & Lois literally smashes into its series finale tonight. And in TV Insider’s exclusive clip from the hour, “It Went By So Fast,” it becomes clear that our Man of Steel is gonna need some backup if there is any hope of ending the series in one piece. As you can probably surmise, the scene comes from the latest dustup between Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and Doomsday, the abomination of Bizarro Superman hatched by Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz). Things are not going well for our hero—again, obvious from the scrapes and bloodied mug—but all hope is not lost. First, he finds out that his supersons, Jon (Michael Bishop) and twin Jordan (Alex Garfin), have teamed up to distract Doomsday at the urging of mom Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch), but that’s not exactly great news given how untrained the two are.

Now that Superman & Lois has reached its curtain call, its actors are reflecting on their work on the hit CW series. Title stars Tyler Hoachlin and Bitsie Tulloch headlined the show for 4 seasons alongside Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent and Jordan Elsass and Michael Bishop as Jonathan Kent. Other performers include Michael Cudlitz as Lex Luthor, Wolé Parks as John Henry Irons/Steel, and Dylan Walsh as Sam Lane, among others. Superman & Lois has its roots in the Arrowverse, as Hoechlin's Superman originates from Supergirl and numerous cast members reprise their roles from that franchise. However, the latter series breaks continuity with the Arrowverse in a variety of ways, such as recasting Lex Luthor.
Showrunner Todd Helbing noted that these characters are doppelgängers of the Arrowverse iterations. In a panel hosted by Screen Rant's Joe Deckelmeier at the San Francisco Fan Expo, Hoechlin and Tulloch unpacked their thoughts on this.

The penultimate episode of Superman and Lois aired last night, and "To Live and Die Again" ended on an emotional cliffhanger to set up what promises to be a rematch for the ages in next week's series finale.
Spoilers follow.
Episode 9 concluded with the return of Doomsday in his even more monstrous and formidable final form, as the raging beast landed a powerful strike on the Man of Steel just as he was telling Lois how much he loved her.
Considering Supes was killed the last time he threw down with Doomsday, the odds are definitely not in the Man of Tomorrow's favour.
“I wanted it to be an emotional hit and to end it on an unresolved note,” writer/director Jai Jamison tells TV Line. “We’re just really playing on the stakes of that moment. And it’s a testament to Tyler, Bitsie, Michael and Alex. They all brought it.

When it comes to the tale of the Super Sons in Superman & Lois, it has been quite a turbulent experience. Michael Bishop's Jon Kent has feuded with his brother Jordan for various reasons. They fell out over Jon's drug usage in the past, while Jordan's hasty ways led to Clark's heart being destroyed after the Doomsday battle. However, the brothers made amends in Season 4.

Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for 'Superman & Lois' Season 4 Episode 8.As Superman & Lois moves through its final season, there have been many shocks for the audience, from Jon (Michael Bishop) finally getting his powers to Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) revealing his secret identity as Clark. Yet Season 4, Episode 8, Sharp Dressed Man, includes a less significant but equally exciting change as the series brings back The Flashs Tom Cavanagh. After years in the Arrowverse, the actor should be familiar to fans of CW superhero shows. While Superman & Lois is not part of the same world, it did get its start there, making the inclusion of one of the universes actors fitting for the final season. But Cavanaghs latest character is entirely different. Rather than being a Wells, Superman & Lois introduces him as Gordon Godfrey, a TV reporter who Luthor (Michael Cudlitz) uses to turn public opinion against Lois Lane (Bitsie Tulloch...

Warning: This article contains Spoilers for Superman & Lois season 4, episode 8.A key new character caused mayhem in Superman & Lois' latest episode, and it seems like the DC series' version of Brainiac is finally here. Superman & Lois season 4's cast continues to grow in interesting ways with each new episode. While the show has a smaller budget than previous seasons, leading to characters like John Henry Irons and Lana Lang being used sporadically, the live-action DC TV show still finds ways to introduce exciting characters during its final season. I'm happy that we were able to get someone like Jimmy Olsen to appear in season 4.
Olsen's Superman & Lois debut allowed me to see that, despite the fact that this is the last season of the Superman series, major characters could still debut. Michael Cudlitz's Lex Luthor is finally getting to shine in season 4, cementing himself as the series' best villain.

Warning: This article contains Spoilers for Superman & Lois season 4, episode 8.Superman & Lois has revealed that Tyler Hoechlin's version of DC's Man of Steel is headed down a tragic path, and I can't believe that it is worse than what I had imagined. I always thought that Superman & Lois was meant to end with Hoechlin's Superman handing over his superhero mantle to Alex Garfin's Jordan. Then, Superman & Lois season 4's cast got two Superboys, as it was revealed early in the season that Michael Bishop's Jonathan Kent also has powers. Since then, I saw a future where Clark Kent retired with Lois Lane, and his sons became heroes.
Superman & Lois season 4 has been hinting at Clark hanging his cape in the universe's future. Ever since he was brought back to life, Superman has not been at full power. Worse than that, the hero is growing weaker as time passes.

The following contains spoilers from Superman & Lois, Season 4, Episode 8, "Sharp Dressed Man."
The Flash alum Tom Cavanagh made his DC return in Monday night's episode of Superman & Lois, although it wasn't as the Reverse-Flash. Instead, the fan-favorite actor portrayed a Jack Kirby-created DC Comics character who first appeared in the 1970s.
In "Sharp Dressed Man," the eighth episode of Superman & Lois' fourth and final season, Cavanagh appears as talk show host Gordon Godfrey. The character is based on the New God Glorious Godfrey, who first appeared in The Forever People #3 in 1971 and is intended to embody the type of powerful, charismatic speaker who can talk people into justifying violence and evil. Gordon Godfrey is a pretty obscure pull for Superman & Lois, as the character hasn't been adapted much, appearing only in the series Justice League, Smallville, and Young Justice, as well as the 2019 DC Animated Movie Universe movie,...

If you've been following this fourth and final season of Superman and Lois you probably have a pretty good idea of which character we're referring to, but just in case, here's your spoiler warning.
In the season premiere, Brainiac's debut was teased during a conversation between Amanda McCoy and Lex Luthor.
“Not much to look at, but Milton assured me it would work,” McCoy says to her boss after handing him a device. “He did good,” Lex answers. “How about we keep that between us?” McCoy responds. “The last thing that brainiac needs is this going to his head.”
This was a clear nod to Milton Fine, who was introduced in 1988’s Adventures of Superman #438 as a mentalist who was being controlled by Vril Dox, aka Brainiac. We're not too sure what to expect from this new take on the villain, but TV Line has now confirmed that he...

We are just four episodes away from the conclusion of Superman and Lois (three if you have already seen this particular episode), and the show is continuing to place the focus on the humanity of the story. If you've been watching since the beginning, you'll know that it has a reputation for doing that - and it isn't hard to see why given how well it pulls it off time and time again.
This season has been all about the show's core group of characters, how they are dealing with the arrival of Lex Luthor in Smallville, and how the Kent-Lane-Irons family are constantly confronted with their own mortality. Superman himself has been facing that too, perhaps more than anyone; as the Man of Steel was literally killed by Doomsday, and even though he was resurrected, the humanity of Sam Lane's heart - which beats inside his chest -...

Ever since Superman and Lois debuted on screens in 2021, its devoted fans have widely called for more attention to be given to the show. It's not hard to see why, for The CW series has reinvented the classic Superman and Lois Lane lore for a whole new generation, adding more gravitas and emotional weight to the classic characters' lives and taking them in directions that the source material never had.
Here, they are parents struggling to raise their twin sons Jonathan and Jordan Kent in a very busy, noisy life as superheroes and reporters in Metropolis. That warranted a move to Smallville, where they have grown closer as a family and made themselves at home in the local community. It's been a delight to watch over the course of its four-season run, and it's one of the many reasons why the beloved series deserves to be on the air for a lot longer.

Last November, James Gunn cast Skyler Gisondon as the Dcu's Jimmy Olsen in Superman. However, he's not the only actor to have recently been picked to play the Man of Steel's best pal, as Douglas Smith will show up as the beloved Daily Planet photographer in Superman & Lois' final season.
This version of the character has previously been described as an "extroverted 20-something" known for being "the 'life of the party' around the office." The site adds, "Despite being work colleagues with Clark, he’s been unable to get him out of his 'awkward' shell. Unaware of Clark’s super-secret, Jimmy’s still determined to become his pal."
In a clip from episode 7 - titled "A Regular Guy" - we see an enthusiastic Jimmy attempt to befriend Clark Kent ahead of a softball game. However, he doesn't have much luck given the hero's reluctance to risk revealing his powers to the world.

Warning: This article contains Spoilers for Superman & Lois season 4, episode 6.After years of emotional stories, Superman & Lois season 4 ends the beloved DC series, and the show is doing right by its core characters, which includes breaking a superhero adaptation trend. There have been several live-action versions of Superman. Despite the fierce competition, Tyler Hoechlin's Man of Steel is one of the very best, and Superman & Lois season 4's cast is all-around filled with talent. Sadly, many of the actors that made the show the hit that it became have had to appear sporadically in Superman & Lois season 4.
The reason for that is the Superman series has had to deal with budget constraints in its final season, which also explains why season 4 will have only 10 episodes. Still, the Superman & Lois team clearly tried its best to service the show's fan-favorite characters and give them the best possible finales to their stories.

The following contains spoilers from Superman & Lois, Season 4, Episode 6, "When the Lights Come On," now streaming on The CW App.
The final season of Superman & Lois continues to examine the fallout of the Man of Steel's death in the most dramatically interesting ways since this famous story first hit the comics. The struggles that Superman, his family and Smallville face are unlike any fans have seen over nine decades of storytelling. But in the sixth episode of Superman & Lois' final season, this culminates in the most visceral fight Clark Kent and Lex Luthor ever had, and it's truly glorious.
When Superman & Lois Season 3 introduced Doomsday, some fans likely felt a mix of skepticism and weariness. Superman And Lois: The Man Of Steel Is Becoming A "Regular Guy" In First Look At Next Week's Episode
Last night's episode of Superman and Lois concluded with the Kent family scoring a (no-doubt temporary) victory over Lex Luthor, but it looks like an unexpected development may soon give the opportunistic villain the upper hand yet again.
Lois attempted to steer Luthor away from his desire for revenge by reuniting him with his daughter Elizabeth (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. alum Elizabeth Henstridge - who also directed the episode), but when that didn't work, she tried her luck with the monster who violently murdered her husband and father, Doomsday.

This leaves Luthor without his most formidable weapon against Superman... however, the promo for next week's episode, "Regular Guy," suggests it might...
