Angel Studios Cco Jeffrey Harmon Touches Down In London For ‘Testament’ Premiere; Talks Growing UK Footprint & ‘Young Washington’ Shoot
Image
Jeffrey Harmon, Chief Content Officer of faith-skewed upstart development, film finance and distribution company Angel Studios, swapped home city Provo in Utah for London this week.

The exec touched down in the UK capital for a gala screening on Sunday of episodes one and two of Paul Syrstad’s series Testament. The contemporary adaptation of the biblical New Testament tome, the Acts of the Apostles is shot against the backdrop of London.

“The entire team behind Testament is London-based. They filmed it here in London, they’re all from the UK. We came here to celebrate the launch with the team,” says Harmon, co-founder of Angel Studios with brothers Neal, Daniel and Jordan Harmon, as well as cousin, Benton Crane.

Angel Studios also has a growing distribution footprint in the UK, thanks to its recently formed partnership with faith-based distributor Kova Releasing, which kicked off this spring with biopic Bonhoeffer,...

Teen Wolf: The Movie is seeking Emmy nominations
Image
The MTV series Teen Wolf – which was loosely inspired by the 1985 comedy film Teen Wolf (watch our Awfully Good video on that movie Here) – wrapped up its six season run back in 2017, and back in January it got a feature film follow-up on the Paramount+ streaming service. (Read our review of Teen Wolf: The Movie at This Link.) Now Paramount+ is hoping that movie is going to rack up multiple Primetime Emmy Awards nominations.

Variety reports that the streaming service has submitted Teen Wolf: The Movie for Emmys consideration in the following categories: Outstanding Television Movie, Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Tyler Posey), Directing (Russell Mulcahy), Writing, Prosthetic Makeup and Original Music and Lyrics (“Lemon” by Tyler Posey).

Since Posey was also a producer on the film, Variety notes that these submissions give him three chances to earn an Emmy nod.

Teen Wolf Actor Defends Movie Killing Off Derek
Image
Orny Adams, who plays Coach Finstock, defends Teen Wolf: The Movie's decision to kill off Derek Hale. The revival film saw the return of many actors from the original series, including Adams and Tyler Hoechlin as Derek, but it was arguably more notable for the mixed response that it garnered with the fanbase. The choice to kill off Derek late in the third act sparked a lot of discussion about the purpose of the project and whether important characters were being discarded in order to set up a potential spinoff.

While being interviewed on the Howler Back Now podcast by Teen Wolf co-star Holland Roden, the Coach Finstock actor takes the opportunity to address the complaints surrounding Derek's death. Early on, he discusses the negative response from viewers towards series creator Jeff Davis and offers his perspective on why popular characters are killed off. In the quote below, he...

Teen Wolf Spinoff Being Pushed For By Stars Isn’t The One You’d Expect
Image
Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie. The stars of Teen Wolf are pushing hard for a spinoff, and it's not what you'd expect. Teen Wolf: The Movie recently revived the MTV franchise, which had been dormant since the supernatural drama series ended in 2017. The movie offers the chance to catch up with Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and his friends, allowing for some adjustments to some of the show's controversial storylines. But on the other hand, the follow-up film also provided some new developments that garnered sharply divided responses.

While not directly setting up a sequel or spinoff, Teen Wolf: The Movie does conclude in a way that leaves the door open for future stories that are set in the same universe. During an appearance on the Howler Back Now podcast, Ian Bohen (who plays Peter Hale) told host and Teen Wolf co-star Holland Roden that he's...

Teen Wolf: The Movie 2? Tyler Posey and Crystal Reed want a sequel
Image
The MTV series Teen Wolf – which was loosely inspired by the 1985 comedy film Teen Wolf (watch our Awfully Good video on that movie Here) – wrapped up its six season run back in 2017, but last month it got a feature film follow-up on the Paramount+ streaming service. (Read our review of Teen Wolf: The Movie at This Link.) And now that Teen Wolf has made its return, stars Tyler Posey and Crystal Reed said they would like to see it keep rolling with feature sequels.

Speaking with Screen Rant, Posey said he wants to work on Teen Wolf: The Movie 2 and possibly more sequels because, “(The Movie) is definitely not the perfect ending. I think it lends itself to more, I want more. I think it would be interesting to now see how they live their lives as adults. We got to see them as teenagers. We got to see them for two days as adults,...

Teen Wolf Season 3 Explains Why Derek Is So Overprotective In The Movie
Image
Warning! Spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie!

While Derek’s (Tyler Hoechlin) behavior toward Eli (Vince Mattis) may have seemed overbearing in Teen Wolf: The Movie, it makes sense due to Teen Wolf season 3. Coming-of-age stories that center around Eli’s struggle to find his identity make perfect sense for the teen-centered supernatural drama, but it is a new shift for the movie to see the younger protagonists of the show shift into the parental roles. Derek is a perfect example of how Teen Wolf: The Movie used this shift to the best effect, making his arc both poignant and tragic.

Teen Wolf: The Movie depicts the return of the McCall pack to face a new threat that resurrected Scott’s (Tyler Posey) old flame, Allison Argent (Crystal Reed). But for Derek, his personal story revolved around his relationship with his teen son, Eli, and his Teen Wolf...

Teen Wolf Movie Sequel Starring Derek's Son Teased by Creator
Image
Creator Jeff Davis is teasing a possible sequel to Teen Wolf: The Movie starring Derek's son, Eli. A continuation of the popular MTV series, Teen Wolf, the supernatural drama premiered on Paramount+ on January 26. It follows Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) as he travels back to Beacon Hills to assist Chris Argent (Jr Bourne) in carrying out a ritual that would seemingly allow Allison's (Crystal Reed) soul to cross over. However, complications arise when Allison gets brought back to life, along with the Nogitsune, who begins manipulating her. While there was excitement over seeing a number of characters return in Teen Wolf: The Movie, it was a surprise to learn that Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin) had a child, and that he played a significant role throughout.

Portrayed by Vince Mattis, Eli spends a majority of the Teen Wolf movie avigating his relationship with Derek and struggles with the idea of being a werewolf.

Teen Wolf Star Wants To Explore Scott's Adult Life In A Spinoff Show
Image
Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey says he would love to explore Scott McCall's adult life even more in a future spinoff. Posey starred on all 100 episodes of MTV's Teen Wolf series, which was adapted from the 1985 Michael J. Fox film of the same name and ran from 2011 through 2017. He played Scott McCall, a young man who was bitten by a werewolf and attempted to manage his newfound lycanthropy while also balancing his life in high school and battling the evil forces that descended upon the town of Beacon Hills. He also reprised the role in Paramount+'s Teen Wolf: The Movie, which just premiered on January 26.

TVLine had the opportunity to sit down with some of the folks behind Teen Wolf: The Movie and break down the future of the franchise. While there is not currently an official plan for a continuation of Teen Wolf after the film,...

‘Teen Wolf: The Movie’ Boss Answers Burning Questions, Plus Will There Be More?
Teen Wolf: The Movie (2023)
[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie.] Teen Wolf: The Movie left off in a hopeful place for most of the characters, though one werewolf did make the ultimate sacrifice. Scott (Tyler Posey) and Lydia (Holland Roden) successfully brought Allison (Crystal Reed) back from the dead. The nogitsune and puppet-master Harris (Adam Fristoe) were defeated. Scott and Allison were back together and, after Derek’s (Tyler Hoechlin) death, took in his son Eli (Vince Mattis), who embraced being a werewolf. Creator Jeff Davis answers our burning questions after the movie and addresses if this will be the last time we see any sort of Teen Wolf. Was the plan always to reunite Scott and Allison once you knew Crystal would be returning? I wouldn’t say it was always the plan. I didn’t know quite where it was gonna end up in my head, but once I figured out Scott’s...

‘Teen Wolf: The Movie’ Breaks Paramount+ Record for Most-Watched Original Movie in First Day (Exclusive)
Teen Wolf: The Movie (2023)
Paramount+ has spooked up two hits with debuts “Teen Wolf: The Movie” and “Wolf Pack,” both of which hail from MTV Entertainment Studios, creator Jeff Davis (who’s under a multi-year deal at the studio) and MGM.

The former — a film revival of the beloved 2011 young-adult supernatural series that reunites a majority of the cast, including stars Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin — broke the streamer’s record for the most-watched original move in the first day of its debut.

The latter, which stars and is executive produced by Sarah Michelle Gellar, marked the platform’s most-viewed YA show since the “iCarly” reboot, making it the No. 2 YA series premiere overall in its first 24 hours.

‘Teen Wolf: The Movie’ Boss Explains [Spoiler]’s Death: ‘It Had to Be Very Heroic’
Teen Wolf: The Movie (2023)
[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie.] No, there’s no undoing that tragic ending for one of the main werewolves of Teen Wolf in the Paramount+ film. Teen Wolf: The Movie saw Scott (Tyler Posey), Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), Lydia (Holland Roden), a resurrected Allison (Crystal Reed), and their friends go up against the nogitsune and Oni, due to puppet-master Harris’ (Adam Fristoe) work, and in order to win, a sacrifice had to be made. In order to hold the Nogitsune still for hellhound Parrish (Ryan Kelley) to kill him, Derek sacrificed himself and was burned up as well. Scott and Allison took in his son, Eli (Vince Mattis). Creator Jeff Davis explains that decision. Talk about the decision to kill Derek. Why and why in the way that you did? Jeff Davis: Killing Derek wasn’t something that we came to lightly. Teen Wolf: The Movie Ending Explained
Image
This article contains spoilers for Teen Wolf: The Movie.

TV cancellations are even more regular than a full moon these days, so there’s something to be said for Teen Wolf‘s almost animalistic tenacity. Hailing from the days when shows actually reached six seasons, MTV’s soft reboot of the ‘80s movie was canceled after a mammoth 100 episodes in 2017.

But like people always say, you can’t keep a good lycanthrope down, because six years later, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and his pack are back with the first of what could be many Teen Wolf movies.

In fact, judging by how Teen Wolf: The Movie ends, it looks like creator Jeff Davis is counting on it.

How Does Crystal Return?

Scott’s no longer a “Teen Wolf” in Teen Wolf: The Movie because the film jumps ahead 16 years. McCall’s still an Alpha, but he’s now in his mid thirties,...

Teen Wolf: The Movie's Big Character Death Explained By Creator Jeff Davis
Image
Warning! Spoilers ahead for Teen Wolf: The Movie

Teen Wolf: The Movie features a huge character death, but it wasn't originally going to be part of the script. The film, which premiered on Paramount+, featured the return of many popular characters from the MTV series Teen Wolf, including Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, and Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale. Derek was one of the series' main characters, appearing in 63 episodes between 2011 and 2017. However, the character's triumphant return became a tragedy when he sacrificed his life to save Scott from the Nogitsune, holding it down so it could be engulfed in hellfire.

To celebrate the release of Teen Wolf: The Movie, Entertainment Weekly sat down with director Jeff Davis to discuss that momentous death. Davis revealed that Derek's death wasn't in the original script, but he wanted the movie to have higher stakes than a...

‘Teen Wolf’: How The Movie Explains Dylan O’Brien’s Absence
Image
Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you have not watched “Teen Wolf: The Movie”.

The “Teen Wolf” movie brought Scott McCall and his friends back to Beacon Hills, but one key person was missing from the action: Scott’s best friend, Stiles Stilinski.

The two-hour reunion film, which dropped Thursday on Paramount+, kept Stiles’ presence alive even though its portrayer, Dylan O’Brien, did not appear onscreen. The 31-year-old actor made it clear last year that he would not be reprising his fan-favourite character for the movie.

So, how exactly did the movie explain Stiles’ absence?

One of the first mentions came early in the film, after Scott (Tyler Posey) recruited the help of Lydia (Holland Roden) — who, at the end of the original series, was happily in a relationship with Stiles — to figure out...

Teen Wolf Movie Cast, Character & Cameo Guide
Image
Teen Wolf: The Movie features many familiar characters as well as some new faces and unexpected cameos as the McCall pack re-assembles to fight a newly-emerged threat. MTV's Teen Wolf TV series is loosely based on the 1985 film of the same name starring Michael J. Fox, which introduced audiences to the titular character, Scott McCall. Over time, the Teen Wolf TV series garnered critical acclaim which helped grow its loyal fan base which was why its abrupt ending in the shortened Teen Wolf season 6 was a big shock. In the years since, however, Scott has apparently reassembled his pack and now they're returning to Beacon Hills to tackle a new mystery.

Despite MTV's cancelation of Teen Wolf in 2017, its popularity endured. Paramount recognized this, resulting in signing Jeff Davis to spearhead the expansion of the franchise on Paramount+.

Among the projects lined up to exist in the growing universe,...

Teen Wolf: The Movie Review — Is There Any Bite Left?
Image
This Teen Wolf: The Movie review contains no spoilers.

Riddle me this: Is a Teen Wolf still a Teen Wolf when he becomes a full-grown “Man Wolf”?

That’s essentially the premise of Teen Wolf‘s comeback movie which brings Tyler Posey’s Scott McCall back on our screens for the first time since 2017.

Now in his mid-thirties, our not-so-Teen Wolf is still the Alpha, but Beacon Hills is no longer the place it once was. Fifteen years or so have passed since everyone last walked off together dramatically on the long-running MTV series. Jumping ahead to 2026, Scott’s pack has now been scattered by the years and circumstance — as well as real-life issues offscreen too.

That’s right. A lot of your faves are back, including some faces you might not be expecting, but there are a couple of key players missing, and the film does suffer a bit for it.

Teen Wolf: The Movie Review: A Disappointing Continuation
Image
In its heyday, Teen Wolf was massively popular and one of MTV's few successful scripted dramas, which led to the series getting its very own film continuation in Teen Wolf: The Movie. Based very loosely on the 80s movie of the same name, Teen Wolf managed to find lightning in a bottle with its charming and charismatic young cast, who brought to life the increasingly ludicrous supernatural world of Beacon Hills with tremendous heart. Now, the former teens are reuniting as adults and, along with creator Jeff Davis, seeing if they can replicate that same spirit. Teen Wolf: The Movie tries to capture the magic of the original show, but though many original cast members returned, it falls short of the mark.

Picking up 15 years after the death of Allison Argent (Crystal Reed) at the end of season 3, Teen Wolf: The Movie finds members of Scott McCall's (Tyler Posey...

Tyler Posey on Returning to ‘Teen Wolf’ Six Years Later and Sober: ‘It’s Nice to Be Present’
Image
Now that he’s 31 and sober, Tyler Posey looks at his “Teen Wolf” role through a new lens.

Speaking with Variety at the premiere of Paramount+’s “Teen Wolf: The Movie,” the actor reflected on the nearly five-year journey of self-discovery and sobriety that led him to his return as Scott McCall.

Just two years ago, Posey opened up about his sobriety on the “Just for Variety” podcast, telling host Marc Malkin about his struggles with substance abuse and how he’d given up drugs and alcohol during the pandemic but wasn’t “completely sober anymore.”

Yet as he approached the long-awaited opportunity to reunite with the “Teen Wolf” franchise and his former castmates, he revealed on Wednesday night’s red carpet at the Harmony Gold Theater in Los Angeles that he is now clean and sober once again.

“The older you get – the more comfortable you get as a person,...

Teen Wolf Movie Fits Season 7 Into One Film
Image
Teen Wolf: The Movie will continue Teen Wolf's story as if the movie is in its own season. The film will take place after Teen Wolf's conclusion, which stars Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), a typical high school student who finds his life completely changed after being bitten by a werewolf and transformed forever. The ending of Teen Wolf season 6 left an opportunity for the show's continuation completely open in the wake of its cancelation. With Scott leading his own pack, he invites a new wolf into the gang and insinuates that he will always need to be able to protect them from hunters.

While Teen Wolf's future after Teen Wolf: The Movie remains in question, Cbr reports that the show's creator Jeff Davis told SFX Magazine that he intends to include an entire season's worth of material within Teen Wolf: The Movie. Check out his explanation below:

Naturally, this brings our favorite alpha, Tyler Posey's Scott McCall, back into town, and he summons the majority of supernatural crew from the days of yore to reunite and fight.

The show ran for six seasons, wrapping up in 2017. Five years later, much of the show’s cast has been brought back together for the Teen Wolf franchise’s return to the world of feature films, a project appropriately titled Teen Wolf: The Movie. The new movie is going to be released through the Paramount+ streaming service on January 26th, and today they unveiled a poster for it. You can take a look at the poster at the bottom of this article.

Directed by Russell Mulcahy from a script written by Jeff Davis, Teen Wolf: The Movie has the following synopsis:

A full moon rises in Beacon Hills, and with it a terrifying evil has emerged.

It was quite the Teen Wolf cast reunion at the 2022 New York Comic Con on October 7th. Series creator Jeff Davis joined his returning Teen Wolf stars Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed, Holland Roden, Colton Haynes, Shelley Hennig, Dylan Sprayberry, and Khylin Rhambo for a packed Teen Wolf: The Movie panel at Javits Center. Teen Wolf newcomers Vince Mattis and Amy Workman also took the stage for the half-hour panel.

Writer/executive producer Jeff Davis kicked off the panel discussing the inspiration for Teen Wolf: The Movie. “One thought was could we bring Crystal Reed back? I always said if we were going to do a movie, we would have to bring Crystal Reed back. And so the idea started percolating and I said to Crystal over text – actually on Instagram it was – and I said, ‘Are you ready to pick up the bow and arrow again?’ And we talked and there was magic still there.

Teen Wolf fans are getting something they never thought they'd get:

A movie based on the hit MTV series.

With the trailer debuting at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, more details are starting to materialize.

TV Insider sat down with creator, Jeff Davis, and stars Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin about the project.

Davis revealed that "the studio wanted it," speaking of the formal pickup to the outlet.

Posey, who plays Scott McCall, said that he "wouldn't stop bugging him [Davis] about it."

Davis also said that there was the option of him not writing the movie, but he wanted to.

“I’m like, ‘I’m writing this. Nobody else is writing this,'” he shared.

“That’s always fun to do, to see where are [the characters now] now and to create a story off of that.”

Posey went on to speak about what it meant to return to San Diego Comic-Con for...

Teen Wolf: The Movie reunited the MTV series’ leads for a panel at 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, where the first trailer was screened for the upcoming Paramount+ film, and the event ended with a surprise visit from Sarah Michelle Gellar.

The action-packed footage featured familiar favorites Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin) in dire straits. The moment from the trailer that got the biggest cheer in Hall H was the final moment, in which Allison Argent (Crystal Reed) is back after exiting as a series regular in season three.

“Allison is alive,” a distraught Scott says in the trailer. “She’s back.”

Posey, Hoechlin and series creator Jeff Davis participated in the panel, where they talked about the emotions behind bringing the franchise back. “We all needed a break,” Posey said about feeling refreshed about playing Scott following a hiatus after...

We are so ready to head back to Beacon Hills after that trailer, Teen Wolf fans.

Paramount+ today revealed the official teaser trailer for Teen Wolf: The Movie during the film’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

The teaser trailer teases some big returns, but one that is sure to get the fans talking is the return of Allison Argent.

Allison died on Teen Wolf Season 3, but it sounds like there's a reason for her miraculous return from the dead.

"Allison, she's alive," we see Scott telling her father in an emotionally-charged scene.

Understandably, there will be plenty of questions surrounding how -- and why -- she's back.

Hopefully, the writers have some answers that work when telling such a tale.

The movie was written and executive produced by Jeff Davis.

The film will stream exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and internationally, where the service is available.
