We have a mythic new delight for fans of Scarlett St. Clair, the bestselling author of the Hades & Persephone Saga, the Hades Saga, "King of Battle and Blood", and "When Stars Come Out."

Anyone who's read St. Clair's fan-favorite "A Touch of Darkness" knows that she's obsessed with Greek Mythology, mysteries and intrigue of all sorts, and the afterlife. So, is it any surprise that in her newest book, "A Game of Retribution" ($26), published by Bloom Books, she approaches the mysteries of a new love affair from Hades, the God of the Dead's, dark and brooding perspective? And, to be honest, there’s something to be said for the whole broody, eternally handsome Goth boy thing, complete with killer cheekbones and a capacity to love that is as potentially deadly as it is swoon-worthy. But, nine times out of ten, those stories tend to stay in their own lanes, and never the twain shall meet. Usually.

Or at least, you know her bestselling self-published book that everyone on TikTok loves, A Touch of Darkness, which tells a love story between Hades and Persephone. Her latest novel, King of Battle and Blood ($15), doesn't come out until Nov. 30, but luckily, we've got something to keep you busy while you wait - an exclusive alternate point of view of a very important scene.

To give you some background on the novel, this upcoming book follows Isolde de Lara, a princess who must, in order to save her kingdom, marry the vampire king, Adrian Aleksandr Vasiliev, and kill him.
