Exclusive: Production is underway in Finland on historical drama Tell Everyone, the new feature from Girl Picture director Alli Haapasalo.

Shooting on location in the Seili mental asylum on the Finnish archipelago, Tell Everyone is adapted by Katja Kallio from her 2017 novel Amanda Of The Night.

The film follows Amanda, a woman condemned to an isolated mental asylum island; who refuses to submit to the grim fate society has reserved for outcast women.

Marketta Tikkanen heads a cast of leading Finnish actors, alongside Krista Kosonen, Fallen Leaves star Alma Poysti, Aamu Milonoff and Jakob Ohrman.

Netflix Unveils Cast of its First Finnish Series ‘Dance Brothers’ (Exclusive)

Netflix has unveiled the young cast of its first Finnish series, “Dance Brothers” which is currently filming in Helsinki with Samuel Kujala (“Lakeside Murders”) and Roderick Kabanga (“Gravedigger and the Random People”) playing the lead roles.

The young adult drama series is a co-production between Netflix and Yle, and is created and produced by Max Malka at Banijay’s Endemol Shine Finland. The Finnish language series will launch globally on Netflix in 2023 and will later also be available on Yle. It marks Endemol Shine Finland’s first scripted commission.

Directed by Taito Kawata, “Dance Brothers” centers around the two brothers Roni (Kabanga) and Sakari (Kujala) as they struggle to make a living as professional dancers. To help finance their dance dreams, they decide to start their own club which provides income, housing and a training space. Their unique club and impressive dance routines quickly bring them fame. Kian Lawley, Katherine C. Hughes Starring in Finnish Comedy ‘Perfect Commando’

Kian Lawley, who was dropped from movie “The Hate U Give” last year after a video resurfaced of him that included racist comments, has landed a starring role alongside Katherine C. Hughes (“Blue Bloods”) in the Finnish comedy “Perfect Commando.” The series is the latest original for Elisa Viihde’s Aitio streaming service, and will be distributed internationally by Red Arrow Studios.

Lawley is a YouTube star with 3.4 million followers of his SuperKian13 YouTube channel. He also stars in AwesomenessTV series “Zac & Mia.” In the 10-part “Perfect Commando,” he will play Van, who has been living in California and makes a trip to his mother’s home country of Finland. With dual American-Finnish citizenship, he finds himself thrown into military service, setting up a fish-out-of-water comedy about a privileged kid from L.A. surviving life in the army barracks with a bunch of oddballs.

The English- and Finnish-language will be produced by Fire Monkey.

Exclusive: Zac & Mia star Kian Lawley and My Dead Ex star Katherine C. Hughes are set to front Finnish comedy drama Perfect Commando for Svod service Elisa Viihde.

The U.S. teen stars, familiar to Awesomeness TV viewers, will feature alongside a cast of Finnish actors in the 10-part comedy.

The English and Finnish-language comedy follows two young characters; Van and Rachel who have led carefree lives in their home of California. However, Van’s first ever trip to his mother’s home country of Finland takes an unexpected wrong turn as soon as he steps off the plane when due to Van’s dual American-Finnish citizenship he is thrown into Military service.
