Marian de Pontes was born in South Africa, and is an award-winning director best known for her films "Etana", "Verity", and "Eve". She has recently worked with Netflix, Lionsgate, and Amazon on a variety of projects both in documentary and fiction. Her latest film Etana (2020) won the 2021 Horizon Award at Sundance.
