Exclusive: Dougray Scott is leading the BBC’s adaptation of J.J. Arcanjo’s Crookhaven, while an Adolescence breakout has been cast as one of the students.

Scott, the star of Crime and Vigil, will play Caspian Lockett, the headmaster and leader of the secretive Crookhaven, a school for crooks where students learn how to hone their skills in order to do good. Based on the hit book series, the students, or Crooklings, are trained to perfect their unusual skills to bring balance, justice and order to the outside world.

The Doctor Who simultaneous global premiere arrives in May, and the episode titles for the season have now been revealed.

In addition, another guest star has been added to the cast. In the Julie Anne Robinson directed Space Babies, Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story) joins Doctor Who as Jocelyn.

“It’s been amazing to see the whole world appreciate Golda’s talents, because of Bridgerton, and it’s been an absolute joy to invite her to Cardiff to help launch Ncuti and Millie’s first season,” said Russell T Davies, the Doctor Who showrunner.

Allons-y, Whovians! As promised, Disney+ wrapped up last week with the first official trailer for the upcoming new season of “Doctor Who,” starring Ncuti Gatwa as the recently regenerated Fifteenth Doctor.

"Doctor Who" fans have been enjoying an embarrassment of riches lately, including (but not limited to) the casting of Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor, the grand return of acclaimed writer/director Russell T. Davies into the "Doctor Who" fold, and even the surprise appearance of beloved franchise actor David Tennant in that 60th anniversary special. But arguably the biggest development was saved for last, when we found out that BBC and Disney would be teaming up to bring the classic series to an even bigger global platform through Disney+ streaming.

Now, in a new announcement, Disney has revealed the official premiere date for the upcoming and widely-anticipated season. Mark your calendars and clear your schedules for Friday, May 10 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Edt. The festivities will actually begin with a re-airing of the Christmas special "The Church on Ruby Road" that originally debuted in December of 2023, followed by two brand-new episodes.

The premiere date for the new season of Doctor Who has been revealed.

On Friday, it was announced that the first season of Doctor Who starring Nucti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor will premiere on Disney+ on May 10, 2024. It had been known that the new season would arrive in May, but it hasn't been until now that the exact date was revealed. Also unveiled was the official key art for the new season, touting the debut date along with Gatwa's Doctor standing by the Tardis, joined by Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday, his companion. The BBC and Disney+ will launch the latest season of the classic sci-fi – the first since the Disney streamer came on board – simultaneously around the world.

The show, which stars Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor with Millie Gibson as his companion Ruby Sunday, will launch on Disney+ in the U.S. and internationally on Friday May 10 at 7pm Et.

This is the same time that the show will drop on the BBC’s streaming service iPlayer before it gets its linear airing later on Saturday, May 11. It follows a series of specials that premiered at the end of last year.

The move will sate British fans of the show, who were concerned that viewers in other parts of the world would get to watch it before they did.

Proving popular with viewers, it recently returned for a Christmas special and a second series will be broadcast this year.
