The Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut, scheduled to take place in late September with headliners like the Killers, Hozier, and Vampire Weekend, has been canceled.
On Friday, the fest’s website updated with a note from organizers that read, “Due to circumstances beyond our control, Soundside Music Festival has been cancelled. Tickets will be refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days depending on your bank’s processing time.”
The festival’s social media pages were also deleted, suggesting that Soundside might be canceled permanently.

The Billboard 200 albums chart measures the top releases during the weekly tracking period every Friday through Thursday. While it used to be determined strictly by record sales, the ever-changing landscape of music consumption led Billboard to update its methodology for the 21st century.
In 2014, Billboard started considering multiple metrics of music success, including online streams and individual track sales, in addition to the traditional album sales that previously made up the entirety of the Billboard 200's chart determinations. An album sale currently counts as one album unit. Sales of 10 individual tracks also counts as one unit. But an artist needs 3,750 ad-supported streams or 1,250 paid subscription streams to equal one unit. Then in 2020 Billboard began counting music videos on platforms like YouTube.
The Beatles hold the record for the most No. 1 albums with 19; they also have the most No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 with 20. But Beatles alumnus Paul McCartney has...

After opening her set with “Blindsided (Yeah, Sure, Okay)” and “Baggage,” Ballerini brought Kahan onstage to sing “Cowboys Cry Too” from her 2024 album Patterns, before the pair played a duet of his hit “Stick Season.”

Kelsea Ballerini is playing the part of good sport after seemingly calling out her 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards losses, which included two trophies lost to Lainey Wilson. “Just stopping in to say I respect the hell out of @laineywilson. As an artist, entertainer, and friend,” Ballerini wrote in her Instagram Stories on Saturday, May 10. “A deserving queen.” At the ACM Awards ceremony on Thursday, May 8, Ballerini was up for Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Music Event of the Year, sharing that third nomination with Noah Kahan. She lost the first two to Wilson and the third to Ella Langley and Riley Green. Following those defeats, Ballerini shared photos of Mean Girls’ iconic “And none for Gretchen Weiners” scene on Instagram. And Chase Stokes, her boyfriend, updated Instagram to declare Ballerini “Entertainer of the Year.” One X user criticized Ballerini and Stokes’ social media reactions as unprofessional.

Chappell Roan officially has a new manager, as the superstar has signed with Drew Simmons of Foundations Management. Simmons announced the news on his Instagram on Monday.
“Thrilled to be working with Chappell Roan — it’s an honor to welcome her to Foundations,” Simmons wrote. Simmons is best-known as manager for Noah Kahan, though Foundations also represents artists including jazz-pop act Laufey and Rebecca Black, who first came to prominence with the infamous viral Youtube song “Friday” and has since picked up a following as a hyperpop act.
The move comes months after Roan split from Nick Bobetsky, who served as her manager through much of last year, when Roan broke out as one of the biggest superstars on the planet as The Rise and Fall of A Midwest Princess steadily climbed all the way to No. 2 on the charts months after its release, while she drew headline-level crowds on the festival circuit.

Grammy-winning rapper Doechii finally dropped the music video for “Anxiety” on April 18, 2025, more than a month after the single hit streaming platforms. Directed by James Mackle for Adele Drive, the video follows the artist as she is caught in a surreal, anxiety-fueled hell loop. Doechii is tossed, dragged, and flung through her trembling house as everything spirals out of control. From a stove bursting into flames to almost stepping into cracks on the wooden floor, and even a random elephant appearing outside, every bizarre moment is a physical manifestation of her anxiety.
Fans of Doechii might immediately recognize the opening scene as a nod to her now iconic Coven Music Session video, originally uploaded on May 15, 2020. The set is styled like the bedroom where she performed “Anxiety” almost five years ago. Viewers may also catch a clever reference to Gotye’s music video for “Somebody That I Used to Know,...

The social media pop fan ecosystem is fragile. Its participants are easily excitable and just as effortlessly aggrieved, their collective nervous system tied somewhat intrinsically to social media notifications. On Tuesday, Pop Crave posted: “Fans speculate Tate McRae is featured on Morgan Wallen’s new album after she posted a Tennessee jersey with his initials.” With it appeared a split photo of the pop and country singers alongside the orange jersey in question, marked with McRae’s signature T8 abbreviation and a much smaller “Mw” on the collar printed in white.

The Voice Season 27 continued the third stage of the competition on Monday with the third installment of "Knockouts" performances. In this round, each coach will set four head-to-head matchups from their team and will be forced to choose only four winners. While they won't be able to save any of the losers from their own team, each coach will have a Steal to bring a loser from another team with them to "The Playoffs." By the end of the round's 16 performances, 20 artists will remain in the competition.
One hallmark of this round is that the artists get to choose their own song to perform rather than have it selected by their coach, as was done in the "Battles." Another is that without guest mentors assisting during rehearsals, it's the first time that John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé and Adam Levine get to work one-on-one with the artists on their team.

You know that The Voice had a good night when I make it all the way through a recap without giving a grade lower than a B+. Such was the case Monday as Season 27’s Knockouts continued with seven outstanding performances — and one that must have really fallen short as we didn’t even get the obligatory snippet of it. I’ll add the video when it drops later. In the meantime, let’s discuss, shall we?
Team Bublé: Kaiya Hamilton singing “Here” (Grade: A) defeated Divighn singing “Harder to Breathe” (Grade: B+) | On Maroon 5’s hit, Divighn lived up to his name.

Welcome back to Origins, our recurring series that gives artists a space to break down everything that went into their latest release. Today, rising singer-songwriter Jack Van Cleaf digs into his new song, “Using You.”
Jack Van Cleaf’s star is visibly on the rise, but that has yet to stop him from getting his hands a little dirty.
Despite a recent co-sign from Zach Bryan, a viral hit with “Rattlesnake,” and opening slots for folks like Noah Kahan and Madi Diaz, the Nashville-based artist has retained the grit and authenticity that have made him a buzzy name in Music City and beyond. Now, with his sophomore album on the horizon, he’s kicking up his heels with his latest single, “Using You,” which Consequence is premiering a day early.

For The Voice Season 27, the battle round is officially in the rearview mirror. Packed with shocks and surprises aplenty, each of the four coaches, Kelsea Ballerini, Adam Levine, Michael Bublé, and John Legend, were intent on delivering showstopping vocal duets and, in doing so, have fashioned a set of knockout rounds that instantly looked impossible to call. In the most recent episode, this was proven true, with a selection of stunning performances leaving coaches with yet more nail-biting decisions.
Among these tough decisions was a battle between young and old as Levine continued his road to out-country-fying the man who, for a long time, held his coaching chair: Blake Shelton. This saw Levine's one and only country singer, Trevon Dawson, handed the golden ticket as he performed a cover of Brooks and Dunn's "Red Dirt Road," and left his opponent, acoustic artist Ethan Eckenroad, with a steep hill to climb.

Take a peek around the current pop landscape, and you’ll notice the persistent, surprising influence of two 2012 albums. No, it’s not some combination of Taylor Swift’s career-defining Red, nor Kendrick Lamar’s opus good kid, m.A.A.d city, nor Frank Ocean’s breakthrough Channel Orange, all of which came out that year. Instead, these days it can feel like the two most influential albums of 2012 are, for better or worse, Mumford & Sons’ Babel and the Lumineers self-titled debut. Both records jump-started an early-mid aughts pop...
