Hyde Park International has engaged TIFF buyers in talks over action comedy Cicada 3301 directed by Alan Ritchson, recently unveiled as the lead in Amazon’s Jack Reacher reboot.

Ritchson also features in the film which he co-wrote with Joshua Montcalm and centres on the secretive scavenger hunt phenomenon Cicada 3301.

Jack Kesy plays a down-on-his-luck savant who stumbles upon the online enigma and attracts the attention of a pair of inept Nsa agents.

Ron Funches, Conor Leslie, and Andreas Apergis round out the key cast.

Filmmaker Autumn de Wilde is serving up a fresh new take on the Jane Austen novel with the film Emma., which opens in theaters this weekend. Complete with a stylized punctuated period in the title, the new version is a Focus Features co-production with Working Title and Blueprint Productions and joins the ranks of other Hollywood iterations of the classic story. This includes the 1996 iteration starring Gwyneth Paltrow, a modern Indian version titled Aisha in 2010 and, of course, Amy Heckerling’s way existential adaptation Clueless starring Alicia Silverstone. Exclusive: After making its limited qualifying run this Friday, Amazon Studios’ Seberg which stars Kristen Stewart as French New Wave icon and FBI target Jean Seberg will have a platform release starting Feb. 21.

The noir thriller directed by Benedict Andrews and written by Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel, made its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival before continuing to Tiff, Deuville and the London Film Festival among many others.

Breathless star Seberg was the center of the FBI’s attention in the late 1960s because of her support of the civil rights movement and romantic involvement with Hakim Jamal (Anthony Mackie), among others. Exclusive: Amazon Studios has set December 13 as the opening day for its Kristen Stewart-starring Jean Seberg biopic Seberg.

In the movie, Stewart plays the French New Wave and Breathless star Seberg, who in the late 1960s was targeted by the FBI because of her support of the civil rights movement and romantic involvement with Hakim Jamal (Anthony Mackie), among others. In Benedict Andrews’ noir-ish thriller, Seberg’s life and career are destroyed by Hoover’s overreaching surveillance and harassment in an effort to suppress and discredit Seberg’s activism.

The pic, directed by Andrews and written by Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel, received a seven-minute standing ovation out of its Venice Film Festival premiere. Exclusive: Against All Enemies, the political thriller that stars Kristen Stewart as iconic actress Jean Seberg, has added key cast components. Vince Vaughn, Zazie Beetz, Yvan Attal (Munich) and Stephen Root (Get Out) are all now on board for the Benedict Andrews-directed film.

Fred Berger (La La Land) and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik are producing alongside Kate Garwood and Stephen Hopkins. Phreaker Films, led by Alan Ritchson and Marina Acton, has come on board to produce and finance. Bradley Pilz of Bradley Pilz Productions is also producing. Sales kick off in Cannes this week via Memento Films International. UTA is repping U.S. rights.
