DC Comics is always cooking up something good. In this case, two of DC’s greatest heroes have upcoming stories that will be different than anything comic book fans have read. Plus, DC Infinite has eight stories exclusive to their website.

Here are all of them, what they’re about, and why you’ll want to check them out.

DC's 2025 Pride Anthology Comic Book makes an important return
Image
June is Pride Month and it's a 30-day celebration of culture and remembrance of the people who paved the way for Lgbtqia+ culture and history. While there are parades, parties, and more joyous events to show how proud people are of themselves and the people who support them, it’s also a moment to give thanks to the people who have lost their lives due to ignorance, hate, and prejudice. That’s why having things like DC Comics’ Pride Anthology is crucial. It shows that some companies aren't backing down to billionaires saying that their culture isn't important.

Let me be clear by saying I’m aware that comic books are fantasy. Nevertheless, anything that brings attention to the Lgbtqia+ community in a positive light is a good thing, especially now. There are a lot of terrible things happening like violence toward trans people, pronouns being banned from workplaces, and attempted laws restricting human rights.

Scott returns to a bar to pay tribute to a man he loved, only for these icons to wind up in strange worlds that tap into their greatest desires.

The special will feature stories by numerous creators such as Tim Sheridan, Vita Ayala, Josh Trujillo, Skylar Patridge, and more. DC Pride 2025 will also have a letter column fans can submit entries to via the DC Discord Server.

Image
Warning! Spoilers ahead for What If Galactus Transformed Gambit #1!

Gambit has been transformed into a herald of Galactus in Marvel's latest thrilling What If? one-shot – and by the end of the issue, Remy Labeau has done more than just break free of the Devourer of World's control, he has taken on the ability to imbue dead planets with life, essentially making him the "anti-Galactus."

What If Galactus Transformed Gambit #1 – written by Josh Trujillo, art by Mauel Garcia – ends with Gambit taking on a radical new role in Marvel lore. While the issue takes place outside the publisher's mainstream continuity, it is noteworthy given how it emphasizes just how suited for cosmic heroism Gambit is.

Readers can only hope, for now, that they are treated to more of "anti-Galactus" Gambit in the near future, as the character's memorable way of thwarting Galactus' control vaulted him to the upper echelon of Marvel's cosmic power rankings.

Captain America's New Team Debut Their Powers as "The All-New Y-Men"
Image
No matter who's carrying the shield, Captain America has never liked seeing people get pushed around. Orchis has been going hard after mutants, especially during the recent Fall of X, so it's about time Cap shows up to push back. However, this Cap is neither Steve Rogers nor Sam Wilson, and he's joined forces with an unexpected team to fight for mutant rights.

The Captain America of the Railways, Aaron Fischer, escaped his abusive home, then started protecting other runaway and homeless kids as he rode the rails. Inspired by the original Cap, Aaron made his own costume and shield to protect himself while going up against some serious bad guys.

Now in a preview for Astonishing Iceman #3 by Steve Orlando, Vincenzo Carratu, and Javier Tartaglia, he's teamed up with the Y-Men, humans who acquired superpowers, but who often stand against the X-Men.

DC's Newest Team Perfectly Updates '90s Power Rangers for 2023
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Blue Beetle #1 ahead!

Blue Beetle #1 draws inspiration from tokusatsu series like Power Rangers and Big Bad Beetleborgs, featuring a team of teens with attitude and advanced alien technology. The addition of new scarab-powered allies brings a distinct tokusatsu flavor to Blue Beetle's solo adventures, with primary-color coded armor and a beetle motif. The comic honors the legacy of '90s action shows, embodying the spirit of teens with power suits and a strong sense of camaraderie in the face of evil.

Blue Beetle and his friends are a group of teens with attitude using their advanced alien technology to protect Palmera City — and that alone would be enough to make them DC's version of the much vaunted Power Rangers. But the distinct shape of their armor and growing roster of color-coded teammates calls to mind another tokusatsu series: the insect-themed Big Bad Beetleborgs.

Starfire’s Best Power Makes a Hilarious Comeback
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #3Rarely seen in battle contexts, Starfire's most underrated power is unleashed once again in a new issue of Blue Beetle: Graduation Day. She may have a great number of energy-based abilities, but Starfire' best (and sometimes funniest) power has always been her ability to learn a language through touch—and usually through kissing.

Starfire's language-learning ability makes its triumphant return in Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #3 by Josh Trujillo, Adrian Gutierrez, Wil Quintana, and Lucas Gattoni. Starfire and Blue Beetle Jaime Reyes are walking around Palmera City, which has a large Spanish-speaking population (including Jaime and his aunts). When Starfire encounters the language barrier with a street vendor, she solves it the best way she knows how.

Starfire kisses the vendor and can suddenly converse with him in Spanish. When Jaime asks her how, she explains,"One of my gifts...

A Major Young Justice Villain Just Made Their Comics Debut
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #3A major character from season two of Young Justice just made their DC Comics debut as a Blue Beetle enemy: the Green Beetle. Though the two iterations of the character have some significant differences, Green Beetle has made a splash with their debut—and a lot of trouble for Jaime Reyes.

Green Beetle appears quite violently in Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #3 by Josh Trujillo, Adrian Gutierrez, Wil Quintana, and Lucas Gattoni. Blue Beetle and his mentor, Starfire, are spending time together in Palmera City when a new, green-colored Beetle comes crashing out of the sky and attacks Jaime.

It becomes almost immediately clear that this Green Beetle—who bears similar armor to Jaime's Blue Beetle armor—has shapeshifting powers, especially when they grow to the size of a building, towering over Blue Beetle and Starfire. More than that, the powers and armor...

Batman's Paranoia Carries Over to DC's Next Generation of Heroes
Image
In order to be a hero in the DC Universe, Batman's approval is necessary. Known for being a mentor - and adopted father figure - to numerous orphaned youths, Batman has cemented his place in the Justice League. In three recent comics, the Caped Crusader has shown that he will provide opportunities for younger heroes - with caveats.

When it comes to preparing for trouble, Batman is leagues ahead of DC's heroes, going so far as to plan against his own allies. Fans have long been familiar with his preparation for the possibility of Superman or other heroes turning to evil. The Dark Knight has contingency plans for everyone and he is constantly conducting threat assessments for missions - whether anyone knows it or not. And while he's willing to give young heroes a shot, he's going to keep a close eye on them and have plans in place should they mess up.

Starfire’s New Costume Is The Look She's Always Deserved

Warning: Spoilers for Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #2After decades of having some of the most controversial costume designs in superhero comics, Starfire finally has the look she's always deserved. Starfire is a true warrior and one of the Titans' heavy-hitters, and now she has the armor to back her up.

Starfire appears in a brand new costume on the final splash page of Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #2 by Josh Trujillo, Adrian Gutierrez, Wil Quintana, and Lucas Gattoni. Despite Blue Beetle Jaime Reyes being "grounded" by Superman due to an alien threat, Starfire appears at his door, claiming that "the planet is preparing for war."

Along with this apparent plea for help, Starfire has a new look: she keeps her classic purple and green color palette while adding armored sleeves and, most notably, pants. Her iconic fiery hair spirals out around her, back to its original curly design.
