Vinnis Parnell was born in 1982 in Laurinburg, North Carolina and raised in Bennettsville, South Carolina. As a teenager he enjoyed telling stories. Vinnis is a talented writer, director, cinematographer and editor.
He picked up the camera early and began to tell his stories visually. He also has a passion and a gift for creating his own music as well as for various artist. Some of his music is used in motion pictures. He now resides in Columbia, South Carolina.
Vinnis got his first opportunity to work with a big production on the film, "Stomp the Yard" directed by Sylvain White in 2006. Later he had a chance to produce original music for the Horror/Comedy film, "Slice" directed by Actor/Comedian Pierre Edwards in 2011. In 2017, he started his own production company, Imagined Films and has been working ever since to be able to tell unique stories that can relate to millions of people through the eyes of a lens. in 2019 he co-wrote, directed and was cinematographer of, "Follow the Leader" a six minute short about a young girl who harbors a dysfunctional secret that will save her problems. He also produced a film, "The Street Lights Are On" written and directed by Taiyen Stevenson. In 2018, he co-wrote and directed, "Abducted" he also took the role of cinematographer for this film.
