Joseph Powell-Main

Joseph Powell-Main is an actor and dancer best known for Nutcracker (2009), Peter and the Wolf (2011) and Broken Dancer (2018). Joseph started ballet at the age of five. By the age of eleven Joseph was a student at the Royal Ballet School, Lower School, White Lodge. At the age of fourteen Joseph developed a knee injury which resulted in surgery. After complications after surgery and a serious road traffic incident, Joseph has been left with no muscle activity in his left leg, which has resulted in him being a wheelchair user as well as using crutches for short distances. This however has not stopped Joseph pursuing his dream of being a performer. Joseph competes nationally in wheelchair dance sport and is currently the UK National Para Dance Champion in solo freestyle and duet, freestyle with his sister, Holly. Joseph recently performed at Sadlers Wells, London with Stepchange Studios as part of Fusion the UK's first inclusive Latin and Ballroom showcase. Joseph also has his own YouTube channel which can be found under the name Joseph Isaac Powell-Main.
