Earning a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes is a feat few filmmakers have achieved. Indeed, many of the most acclaimed films of all time have nevertheless failed to impress at least one certified critic on the website. Therefore, in the rare event that a film does earn a perfect score, it is worth exploring how it managed to win over every critic on Rotten Tomatoes that saw it. One such film is Santosh (2024), a new thriller directed by Sandhya Suri. The film, which centers on a widowed woman who takes her late husband's place on the local police force, is the U.K.'s submission for Best International Feature at the upcoming Academy Awards. So far, all 39 critics on Rotten Tomatoes are pretty much unanimous in their praise of both the film's technical elements and its uncompromising themes of sexism, police corruption, and caste discrimination in India.

However, while Antoine Fuqua's 2001 hit is certainly a thrilling ride, the rookie police movies that always stand out to me are the ones that aim to say something about law enforcement, good or bad, with their story, and Sandhya Suri's Santoshproves to be the perfect vehicle.

Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra shared a funny anecdote about his release ’12th Fail’ and said that he lent his voice to a dog’s character in the film. Taking to Instagram, he posted a reel in which he said: “I write, produce, direct. But did you know that I’ve also been a dog in the film?”

Laughing, Vidhu said: “There is this scene where he (Vikrant Massey) is running in the night. Now I wanted this very specific sound of a woof-woof, we couldn’t really find it so I gave the barking sound. (Laughs) So remember this, when you watch the movie and this scene in particular, I was actually the dog here.”

Actors Anupam Kher and Makarand Deshpande are set to be seen in the upcoming live-action film ‘Chhota Bheem’ as one of the most loved characters from the children show steps out of the animated world and onto the big screen as a live action figure.

The announcement of the film was made in Mumbai on Tuesday, marking the occasion of 15 years of the animated series.
