‘Aew: Collision’ Review (Aug 24th 2024)
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew’s, Collision, which brings wrestling back to Saturday nights! We’ve got the commentary team of Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness calling the action, so let’s get into the review!

Match #1: The Conglomeration def. The Undisputed Kingdom The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Bennett and Briscoe traded chops. Briscoe applied a side headlock and then Kyle booted Bennett after a tag. Roderick entered the match and he and Kyle exchanged strikes. Kyle tossed Roddy with a big back body drop. Kyle wiped out Bennett and Taven with dragon screw leg whips. Orange tagged in and wiped out Bennett and Taven with a double hurracanrana. Orange spiked Roderick with a Ddt. Bennett blocked a Beach Break and Taven jumped off the turnbuckle, spiking Orange with a piledriver. Briscoe grabbed a tag and cleaned house on the Undisputed Kingdom with his redneck Kungfu!

‘Nxt: UK’ Review (Jan 23rd 2019)
Welcome to this week’s Nxt:uk review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have lots of interesting stuff to get to, so let’s do so.

Match #1: Nina Samuels def. Lana Austin The following is courtesy of WWE.com:

Although a tenacious Lana Austin was operating on all cylinders against Nina Samuels, delivering a fierce forearm that nearly closed the door on her opponent, Samuels overcame her upstart foe with a fireman’s carry into the Primadonna for the victory.

My Take: 2.5 out of 5 – This was a quick match that had some good wrestling but felt a bit flat, if that makes sense.

Match #2: Eddie Dennis def. Jamie Ahmed The following is courtesy of WWE.com:

Still recovering from his brutal No Disqualification Match against “Bomber” Dave Mastiff, a very angry Eddie Dennis roared back with a dominant showing inside the squared circle and around ringside against Jamie Ahmed.

‘Nxt: UK’ Review (Dec 19th 2018)
Welcome to this week’s Nxt: UK review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have European brand of the WWE that is actually done well each week. Let’s see how this goes.

Match #1: Toni Storm def. Charlie Morgan The following is courtesy of WWE.com:

Though Toni Storm failed to overcome Rhea Ripley in the match to crown the first-ever Nxt UK Women’s Champion several weeks ago, she returned to Nxt UK triumphant as the winner of the 2018 Mae Young Classic, ready to take on Charlie Morgan in her opponent’s first singles match on the show. In the final moments of a hard-fought matchup, Strom overcame her plenty-tough adversary, finishing off Morgan with a German suplex and Storm Zero.

My Take: 3 out of 5 - This was good for the time they were given, but it’s hard to go the distance in...

Welcome to this Nxt: UK review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Michael Shannon, Ashley Graham and The Struts with Kesha, right here on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Also, we have women fighting to become the first Nxt: UK Women’s Champion. Any-way, here comes Michael Shannon.

Match #1: Dakota Kai def. Nina Samuels – Nxt UK Women’s Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match The following is courtesy of WWE.com:

The Nxt UK Women’s Championship Tournament kicked off in Birmingham, as Dakota Kai took on Nina Samuels. From the start, Samuels used her height and power to gain the advantage, as she worked to weaken Kai’s lower back in order to prevent Kai from getting on a roll with her signature kicks. Samuels’ assault included a series of submission maneuvers, a dropkick to Kai’s back and an excruciating tilt-a-whirl backbreaker.

‘Nxt: UK’ Review (Oct 31st 2018)
Welcome to this week’s Nxt: UK review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the third episode of this new show, so let’s take a look at it.

Match #1: Moustache Mountain def. Saxon Huxley & Sam Gradwell The following is courtesy of WWE.com:

After throwing down the gauntlet on every emerging tag team in Nxt UK, former Nxt Tag Team Champions Tyler Bate & Trent Seven reemerged to take on newly formed tandem of Saxon Huxley & Sam Gradwell. From the jump, Huxley & Gradwell showed impressive cohesion as a tag team when Huxley pushed his opponent to the ground and Gradwell used a distraction to attack Seven outside the ring. They then proceeded to cut the ring in half with absolute brutality to prevent Bate from getting in on the action. That all changed when Seven neutralized his opponents before dodging out of the way...

‘Nxt: UK’ Review (Oct 17th 2018)
Welcome to this debut of the Nxt: UK review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I played Thor in my high school’s version of Kramer vs. Kramer, called Thor vs. Thor. It hurt a lot. It’s exciting to bring a review of wrestlers from the United Kingdom to this site and I think this will be a lot of fun.

Match #1: Joe Coffey def. Mark Andrews The following is courtesy of WWE.com:

In the first match of the night, the exciting, high-flying, stage-driving Mark Andrews went looking for retribution against the massive Joe Coffey after Joe and Mark Coffey laid waste to him and three other competitors during a high-stakes Fatal 4-Way Match at the second annual United Kingdom Championship Tournament in June. Andrews put his incredible skill and agility on display from the opening bell, taking his opponent down with an impressive pair of hurricanranas,...
