From 1989 to 1993 Rodel attended Harvard Sports club in Trinidad and Tobago where he played both soccer and cricket. Rodel was very good at both sports.

As a child, Rodel's aunt would take him whenever she travelled internationally to The United States, England, Canada and other parts of the world.

Rodel was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago.

On the 4th of September 2005 in Reno Nevada, The Hilton Hotel hosted a 3 day Shakespeare Poetry Convention. At this event, Rodel won The 2005 Shakespeare Trophy of Excellence Award & The 2005 Poet of The year Medallion Award.

The name Rodel is a French name originated in France and means Famous Ruler.

Rodel is a huge wrestling fan, Rodel's uncle would take him to wrestling events. Rodel's favorite wrestler is The Nature Boy Ric Flair. At the age of 7 Rodel for the first time saw his Favorite wrestler Ric Flair live at The National Stadium in Port of Spain Trinidad and Tobago on April 3rd 1984 when he defeated Ray Apollon for the NWA Title.

When Rodel lived in Trinidad and Tobago he would always go to the beach and write poems. Rodel has written a total of 142 love poems and 46 other styles of poems. Poetry is a big part of Rodel's life.

From 1983 to 1987 every Tuesday at 5PM until 7PM Rodel was a contestant on the Rikki Tikki show. The Rikki Tikki show was an educational children's television show that was only broadcast in Trinidad and Tobago on a channel called TTT aka Trinidad and Tobago Television. Rodel once won a prize on the show.

Rodel has dual nationality: Citizen of Trinidad and Tobago and The United States.

Rodel has a Strong Trinidad and Tobago accent. Also speaks Trinidad and Tobago Creole.
