- From 1989 to 1993 Rodel attended Harvard Sports club in Trinidad and Tobago where he played both soccer and cricket. Rodel was very good at both sports.

- When Rodel lived in Trinidad and Tobago he would always go to the beach and write poems. Rodel has written a total of 142 love poems and 46 other styles of poems. Poetry is a big part of Rodel's life.
- From 1983 to 1987 every Tuesday at 5PM until 7PM Rodel was a contestant on the Rikki Tikki show. The Rikki Tikki show was an educational children's television show that was only broadcast in Trinidad and Tobago on a channel called TTT aka Trinidad and Tobago Television. Rodel once won a prize on the show.
