How To Beat Ragetail In Wild Hearts
Image
The Ragetail is the first giant Kemono players come across in Wild Hearts. The rat monster's combat mechanics are difficult for players fresh out of the tutorial to fight. However, once players get the hang of their weapons and tools, the Ragetail will seem simple compared to the Kemonos they will face later.

In the first encounter with the Ragetail in Wild Hearts, players will only have access to the starting weapon in the Wild Hearts prologue, the Karakuri Katana, to stand against the Kemono's dangerous tail. When the Ragetail is not charging, swiping, or slamming into the player, it wields its huge tail like a club. Luckily, the tail can be severed, severely reducing the beast's capabilities and turning the fight in the player's favor.

Wild Hearts: How to Unlock Fast Travel (& How it Works)
Image
Fast travel is a key feature in any game with large, expansive maps, and Wild Hearts is no exception. On the surface the mechanic is similar to that of the Monster Hunter franchise's, where players have to find and unlock campsites around the map that they can then fast travel to and between during hunts. But where Monster Hunter leaves it as little more than that, Wild Hearts goes much deeper in developing the mechanic.

Hunter's Tents -the campsites for Wild Hearts- are a type of Dragon Karakuri, ancient technology that was first show in the Wild Hearts gameplay preview. Players will discover 'Dragon Pits,' wells of energy that contain different amount of earth, fire, water, wind, and wood energy, scattered throughout the game's different regions. Each Dragon Karakuri uses some fo the Dragon Pit's energy, and they all have different uses and functions that help players prepare for their hunts.

Wild Hearts: How to Beat Kingtusk
Image
Hunting Kemono, giant boss-monster enemies that wander around the map, is the core gameplay of Wild Hearts, and the boar-like Kingtusk is no slouch. It's encountered early on in the game, the fourth Kemono in the main storyline, just after players unlock the Flying Vine Karakuri. It's fierce and deadly, so players will want to make sure their gear is up to snuff before heading out.

The best way to do this preparation is to exploit Kingtusk's weaknesses. It's a Wood attribute monster, and under the elemental system shown in Wild Hearts' gameplay preview, this means it is vulnerable to Fire attacks and deals out Wood attacks. The Young Samurai armor set is designed for this kind of fight, and only requires materials from the game's first two bosses. Unfortunately, the player will not have access to Fire weapons for their first time hunting this Kemono, so they should just...

How To Beat Goldshard In Wild Hearts
Image
The Goldshard is one of the giant Kemonos players can hunt in Wild Hearts, reminiscent of a porcupine. It is a vicious, Earth-attributed creature whose crystal spines fire and impale anyone not behind cover. If players can successfully hunt this Kemono, they can collect materials for the Veteran's armor.

Featured in the final preview for Wild Hearts, the Goldshard's spines are its signature attack, launching them out of its back after leaping away from the player. If players can use their Karakuri shields or natural environment to block the spines, they can force the Goldshard to regrow the spines and buy themselves time to attack. The Goldshard also attacks with its claws, teeth, and tail, while occasionally rolling into a ball. Finally, it can enter into an enraged state, strengthening its attacks and exploding the field with crystals, making the Goldshard an exciting Wild Hearts Kemono.

Is Wild Hearts On Game Pass: Where To Play Wild Hearts Right Now
Image
Wild Hearts’ availability on Xbox Game Pass and many other platforms is still something of a mystery, despite the fact that the title has already been released. This is Electronic Arts’ (EA) interpretation of the Monster Hunter formula established by Capcom’s classic franchise, which became even more popular with World (2018) and Rise (2021). Much like its competitor, Wild Hearts sees players assume the role of a hunter of monsters that seeks out giant beasts, known as Kemono, only to take them down.

Wild Hearts allows interested players to dive into the world of Azuma. This place, described as a once prosperous land, has been plagued by gigantic monsters, that need to be stopped. This is because only they are able to wield the power of Karakuri technology and weapons in Wild Hearts. Luckily, the game is available on many platforms, including Xbox Game Pass – there is, however, a trick to...

Kotaro Hirata & Takuto Edagawa Interview: Creating Wild Hearts
Image
Wild Hearts is a unique monster hunting title set in a fantasy feudal Japan, where players will use a combination of weapons and crafting to take down elemental creatures. After gaining the ancient power of the Karakuri, players will set off on a quest to protect the land of Azuma from Kemono, strong beasts who leave nothing but destruction in their wake. The game comes from Koei Tecmo and EA Originals, and is slated for release later this month, February 2023.

The premise of Wild Hearts is a unique new take on monster hunting, necessitating the use of both the game's eight weapon classes as well as the art of Karakuri. Karakuri come in a myriad of forms, from crates that can block attacks or be jumped off of for devastating air strikes to traps which stop the Kemono in their tracks. Players can choose to hunt alone or with up to two others,...
