Korina Gougouli

Korina-Anna Gougouli was raised in Greece and in America. She earned Undergraduate degrees in Fine Arts from Parsons and in Politics from the New School. Parallel to her studies she attended master evening acting classes at Stella Adler Actinng Studio. Her foundation, work in acting was with Peter and Elka Schumann's "Bread and Puppet Theatre". She has played in various theatre venues some of which include, La Mama Theatre, Teatro La Tea, Theatre for the New City, Cyclorama Theatre etc.
Following, she moved to Athens, Greece to study at the National Theatre School of Greece acting Conservatoire. In Greece, her first professional theatre job was in Frank Wedekind's "Spring Awakening" Directed by Dimitris Karantzas . At the Stavros Niarchos Theatre she has worked with Director Sofia Vgenopoulou in Vangeli Hatziyiannidis "The Suitcase of Urania Selest" and with Director Eva Vlassopoulou in William Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew". Her first collaboration with Director Georgia Mavragani was at the National Theatre with Nigel Williams "Class Enemy" which led to their continued collaboration in Aristophanes "The Frogs"; August Strindberg's "A Dream Play" is the third collaboration with Georgia, performed at the main stage of the National Theatre of Greece in the Spring season of 2024.
She has participated in a myriad of film seminars in Athens and New York. Selected acting filmography are, Rebecca Lenkiewicz's "Hot Milk", Harry Lagoussis' "Novak", Federico Spiazzi's "Refuge", Yelena Popovic's "Man of God", Sonia Liza Kenterman's "Tailor" Theo Panagopoulos's "A Sealed Idea" and more. In addition to acting, she enjoys painting, martial arts and Argentinian tango dancing.
