Steve Carell’s Wildest Movie Twist Dethroned Ace Ventura in One Scene Flat
Image
Steve Carell’s Crazy, Stupid, Love was a wild movie that flat-out destroyed Jim Carrey’s Ace Ventura: Pet Detective in one iconic confrontational scene during the climax of the film. Although both movies were great in their own way, the plot twists in both movies were quite wild.

However, Steve Carell‘s Crazy, Stupid, Love wins since the chaotic finale of the movie was just too impressive not to remember. When Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) reaches Hannah’s place (Emma Stone), Ryan Gosling emerges from her house, and it is revealed that he is her boyfriend.

No plot twist will ever be as funny as the one in Crazy, Stupid, Love

Jim Carrey’s Weirdest Role Was to ‘Destroy Hollywood’ in 48% Rated Cult Classic
Image
Rated 48% on Rotten Tomatoes, Jim Carrey‘s weirdest role to date, aka Ace Ventura, was never meant for the weak of heart. The 1994 comedy subverted every trope and cliché that made such films into a laugh-out-loud gag for those paying for a good time in the theaters.

Instead, Ace Ventura breaks the norm and goes out of its way to redefine the classic detective story. Although ridiculous on paper, the film stood out to fans and critics for its execution. Jim Carrey’s bold and audacious performance in the film proves just how the story relies on Carrey’s talent to make it successful.

Clint Eastwood And Jim Carrey Crossed Paths In This Forgotten '80s Comedy
Image
Clint Eastwood's reputation as a legendary big screen tough guy persists even while he's managed to become one of the most respected directors in Hollywood. When we think of the man who directed "Million Dollar Baby" and "Unforgiven" we also can't help but think of the Man with No Name and "Dirty" Harry Callahan. But the actor played many more diverse characters than he gets credit for and took on several roles that casual fans of the man might not expect.

In 1978, for example, Eastwood made the then-controversial decision to star in "Every Which Way but Loose" opposite a trained orangutan named Manis. The action-comedy saw him and his co-star travel across the United States in search of a woman Eastwood's character has convinced himself is his soulmate — and wouldn't you know it, the movie was a hit, spawning the 1980 sequel "Any Which Way You Can," which saw Eastwood...

Jim Carrey's Career-Changing Comedy Is Tubi's Most-Watched Movie Right Now
Image
Before 1994's "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" debuted, even the people working on the movie weren't convinced it would be any good. At the time, Jim Carrey was essentially an unknown, having only really garnered minimal attention as part of the cast on "In Living Color." What's more, the "Ace Ventura" script was, quite frankly, deranged in a way that without Carrey actually animating the charismatic detective at its center, there was no way it could possibly work. Even during filming, cinematographer Julio Macat thought Carrey was "so over the top" that he was convinced the final product was "gonna be the biggest piece of s*** ever" (via The Ringer). Meanwhile, Carrey himself believed audiences would either love or hate Ace Ventura as a character.

Of course, as we now know, "Ace Ventura" made Jim Carrey a '90s box office phenomenon, kicking off what became a truly historic run for the actor.

Peyton Reed’s 2008 Romantic Comedy Paired Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel, But It Was Very Cringe
Image
Growing up, Jim Carrey was The guy—king of rubber-faced chaos, delivering punchlines with the energy of a Red Bull-fueled cartoon. I was obsessed. I watched The Mask before a school exam once and spent the whole week annoying everyone by reenacting it.

Whether it was the wild antics of Ace Ventura, the idiotic brilliance of Dumb and Dumber, or the raw heart in Eternal Sunshine, Carrey could do no wrong. So when I recently rewatched Yes Man, ice cream in hand, expecting feel-good vibes.

Yeah, big mistake. The age gap? The zero-spark romance? It was giving cringe. Let’s unpack this misfire.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective is getting a new 2-disc 4K Blu-ray from Shout Factory
Image
Before his big breakout, Jim Carrey was primarily known as James Carrey — the consistently hilarious performer on Fox’s comedy sketch show, In Living Color, from Keenan Ivory Wayans. However, 1994 saw Carrey instantly become a household name with not one, not two, but three hit movies that split the sides of audiences across the country, and soon, the world. That kind of output is just not seen, especially as a debut. According to Blu-ray.com, the movie that started it all, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, is now coming to 4K Blu-ray in a special 2-disc set from Shout Factory.

Tom Shadyac’s 1994 film, which also starred a slightly pre-Friends fame Courtney Cox, along with Sean Young and Udo Kier, is set to hit retailers on July 29. Ace Ventura was such a hit that he became one of those characters that people did impressions of. Reacher star Alan Ritchson even cited...

Jim Carrey’s Troubled Timeline: When His Off-Screen Life Made More Headlines Than His Films

Jim Carrey’s Comeback Met With Mixed Reaction (Photo Credit – Prime Video)

Jim Carrey, one of Hollywood’s most legendary comedians, known for his rubbery expressions, wild energy, and uncanny ability to switch from slapstick to deep introspection. From Ace Ventura to The Truman Show, Carrey has delivered unforgettable performances that left audiences both laughing and thinking. But like many of Tinseltown’s brightest stars, his career hasn’t been without its dark moments.

Behind the accolades and fame, Carrey’s personal life has often made headlines for all the wrong reasons. It’s a reminder that even the most iconic actors have their struggles and controversies, moments that can overshadow their celebrated successes. When Jim Carrey Lost This Iconic Role To Tom Cruise In The 80s
Image
Which 80s Role Did Jim Carrey Lose To Tom Cruise? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Before Ace Ventura or The Mask made him a ’90s box office king, Jim Carrey almost suited up as a fantasy hero. But in a twist straight out of Hollywood legend, he lost the role to Tom Cruise before Cruise ever felt the need for speed. In the mid-1980s, Carrey was far from a marquee name. He was still grinding it out in stand-up clubs and landing small-screen gigs like The Duck Factory.

His big screen appearances included Once Bitten, a quirky vampire comedy from 1985, and bit roles in films like Peggy Sue Got Married and The Dead Pool. Charisma? Check. Range? Not quite Hollywood-approved. At least, not yet. Tom Cruise, meanwhile, was already heating up.

After breaking out in Risky Business and The Outsiders, he was seen as a rising heartthrob with blockbuster potential. By...

When Jim Carrey Handpicked Cannibal Corpse For Ace Ventura: The Untold Story Behind This Epic Cameo
Image
Jim Carrey Cannibal Corpse Scene (Photo Credit – Prime Video)

Jim Carrey didn’t just star in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. He orchestrated the vibe. While we know him as the zany, rubber-faced comedic genius, what many forget is that Carrey has always been a guy who takes full control of his projects.

And in 1994, when he was crushing it with Ace Ventura, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber, he didn’t just settle for the usual suspects in the soundtrack department. No, he went straight for the jugular with his personal favorite death metal band – Cannibal Corpse.

Carrey could’ve gone for your typical pop hits or cheesy tunes for the Ace Ventura soundtrack, but nope. He wanted something a little more hardcore. Enter Cannibal Corpse. If you’ve seen the movie, you know the scene: Ace rolls into a nightclub where the band is performing, and the atmosphere shifts from quirky to straight-up savage.

Why Jim Carrey Backed Out Of A Poorly Received Episode Of The Simpsons
Image
Most folks agree that "The Simpsons" hasn't been very good for a long time. In recent years, you may have heard that "The Simpsons" is good again or that modern seasons have actually delivered some underrated "Simpsons" episodes. But the reality is that this is a show which has been running for a full 36 seasons at this point, and whatever spin you try to put on it, something went fundamentally awry long ago.

Just when this happened remains a point of debate among fans. There are those that swear "The Simpsons" was only good for a few seasons somewhat early in its run, but most will agree the golden years were somewhere between the third and tenth seasons. Others, this writer included, maintain that the series was good right up until the 12th season, but if this handy chart showing IMDb rankings for each season of "The Simpsons" is anything to go by,...

When Jim Carrey Took A Huge Pay Cut For His Most Acclaimed Role & Why It Paid Off Big!
Image
Did Jim Carrey take a major chance with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?(Photo Credit –Facebook)

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was a risk, far from his usual slapstick comedies. Yet, it became one of his most celebrated performances. After his breakout year in 1994 with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber, Carrey jumped to the A-list. A year later, he played the Riddler in Batman Forever and returned as Ace Ventura in When Nature Calls. Both films were huge hits.

By 1996, Jim Carrey made history. He became the first actor to earn a $20 million paycheck for The Cable Guy. The film, a dark comedy, was divisive. It earned only $60 million at the box office, making Carrey’s salary nearly half the production budget. But his price tag was set. He remained one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors.

Carrey kept the blockbuster streak going. In...

This 28-Year-Old Disney Box Office Bomb is a Much Better Remake Than Fans Remember
Image
Quick LinksDisney's RocketMan Is a Partial Remake of 1967’s The Reluctant AstronautHarland Williams Turned Down Disney's George of the Jungle Before Staring in RocketManDisney's RocketMan Was Released in the Wrong Time

1997's RocketMan starring comedian Harland Williams was a bit of a wild card. It was produced at a time in the 1990s when Disney was remaking and making its classics (and even some from other studios). 101 Dalmatians (1996) gave birth to not one, but two more films in the franchise and introduced the world to Glenn Close's take on Cruella de Vil. 1997 would also see a successful remake of Flubber starring Robin Williams. Not to mention the ever-popular remake of The Parent Trap that would follow in 1998, showcasing the talents of a young Lindsay Lohan.

However, RocketMan fell sadly short of some of its Disney counterparts. Despite the meticulous nature of its star and cowriter, the script floundered...

Jim Carrey's Controversial 25-Year-Old Dark Comedy Is Coming to Hulu
Image
Me, Myself & Irene is a Jekyll and Hyde story where Jim Carrey hams it up as a character struggling with his sanity. The film played out dark themes for comedic effect, provoking protest over its depiction of mental health.

Hulu is streaming Me, Myself & Irene on Apr. 1. This film added to Jim Carrey's repertoire of slapsticks, including Ace Ventura, The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and Liar Liar. The Truman Show and Man on the Moon proved he has the range for serious dramas, but he returned to form with the 2000 comedy. Carrey went all out with Me, Myself & Irene; his character's suppressed rage led to a psychotic breakdown, consequently manifesting a second, more aggressive personality. Critical reception for the film was mixed, but it was a box office hit (earning $149.3 million against its $51 million budget).

Carrey confirmed he did all of his stunts in Me, Myself & Irene.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a successful video game adaptation featuring the speedy hedgehog battling the evil Dr. Robotnik, who seeks to steal Sonic's powers. Sonic teams up with Tom to stop Robotnik and save the world. The film blends action, quirky comedy, and special effects succinctly. The buddy comedy between Sonic and Tom contrasts with Robotnik's hilarious chaos. Jim Carrey brilliantly portrays Robotnik, showcasing his slapstick skills. Following Sonic's success, Carrey returned for the sequel and third installment, playing Robotnik and his brother.

Carrey infused Dr. Robotnik with comedic charm and slapstick humor, reflecting his forty-year legacy in comedy. Before becoming the iconic villain, Carrey began as a stand-up comic. His physical comedy and impressions garnered him a following, leading to his pursuit of acting. In 1994, he starred in hits like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber, all achieving box office success.

Jim Carrey Shed His Trademark Wildness for This Overlooked Frank Darabont Drama With 'Shawshank' Vibes

Jim Carrey is undeniably one of film's most gifted comedic performers. He established himself as the preeminent lovable goofball in blockbuster comedies like Ace Ventura, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber during the 90s. So we get that audiences want as much of that version of Jim Carrey as possible, but the versatile actor has taken some dramatic roles that get overlooked because viewers may not have been ready for them. The rubbery-faced genius of the laugh genre had already made a move toward more serious roles when he joined a stacked cast in the Oscar-nominated epic The Truman Show in 1998.

Jeff Daniels reveals he has kept 200 reviews panning Dumb and Dumber in a scrapbook

It’s hard to believe there was a time when Dumb and Dumber was considered bad by viewers. Even though the Jim Carrey/Jeff Daniels Farrelly brothers comedy is considered a classic now (and both critics and audiences alike would rank the movie as one of the greatest comedies of all time), Jeff Daniels has kept proof that the movie wasn’t universally loved when it was first released. Daniels has even spoken before about making the transition from movies like Gettysburg to something like Dumb and Dumber, where he thought the toilet scene would end his career.

However, According to Variety, Daniels has now revealed that not only did he read a large number of bad reviews, but he clipped them and saved them in a scrapbook. The Arachnophobia star told The Guardian,

By now, there are probably only about five people on the planet who have not watched Netflix's mega-hit series "Stranger Things." Since its debut in 2016, this imaginative tale about the ongoing battle between a group of kids from Hawkins, Indiana, and dangerous monsters from another dimension has dazzled audiences with its clever blend of dark horror, science fiction, and 1980's pop culture. Now, it's hard not to hop on social media without seeing a post or two on Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Natalie Dyer, or Charlie Heaton, among others, in the large ensemble.

Still, you're not here for the cast. You wanna talk monsters, and, oh boy, do we have you covered. We've ranked every monster in "Stranger Things" from worst to best, mainly just for kicks, but hopefully to stir a healthy debate amongst fans.

Before 'Sonic the Hedgehog,' Jim Carrey Couldn't Tell a Lie in This Riotous Comedy Now Streaming on Prime Video

Before Jim Carrey was zipping around as the mustachioed Dr. Robotnik in Sonic the Hedgehog, he was caught in a web of his own honesty in the 1997 laugh riot Liar Liar, now streaming on Prime Video, and honestly, it might be the most Jim Carrey that Jim Carrey has ever been. Directed by Tom Shadyac (Ace Ventura), Liar Liar stars Carrey as Fletcher Reede, a morally bankrupt lawyer who uses lies the way most of us use oxygen. But when his fed-up son Max (Justin Cooper) makes a birthday wish that his dad can’t tell a lie for 24 hours, Carrey is in a whole world of trouble, in what might be one of his most quotable movies alongside Dumb and Dumber.

2 Of Jim Carrey's Best Movies Got Terrible Sequels With The Same Bizarre Premise
Image
Two of the best movies of Jim Carrey’s career got two of the worst sequels ever made, and they each used the same ridiculous premise to get around Carrey’s absence. Carrey has famously been trepidatious about doing sequels ever since his first one was a disaster. He prefers to explore new stories and new characters with each project instead of going back to rehash a familiar role. A lot of the sequels he’s been in, like Kick-Ass 2 and Batman Forever, have been sequels to movies he wasn’t in.

Of course, there have been a few exceptions. He reprised his role as Lloyd Christmas in the belated sequel to Dumb and Dumber, and he’s appeared as Dr. Robotnik in all three of the Sonic the Hedgehog movies. But for the most part, Carrey has avoided making sequels. He never made a sequel to Liar Liar...

One Piece: Forget Crackhead Robin, Eiichiro Oda’s Original Design for Franky Was So Repulsive It Looked Like He Came Straight Out of a Trap House

Eiichiro Oda’s brilliance as a mangaka lies in his ability to create some of the most unique and unforgettable characters in anime and manga history. From Monkey D. Luffy’s optimistic charm to Zoro’s unwavering resolve and Sanji’s culinary allure, the Straw Hat Pirates from One Piece have personalities and designs that stand out in every way.

Franky’s cyborg design is an iconic aspect of One Piece | Credit: Toei Animation

But among this eccentric crew, Franky, the shipwright, arguably holds the title for the wildest transformation from initial concept to final design.

Many fans might not know that Franky’s original concept in One Piece was nothing like the over-the-top, flamboyant cyborg we know and love today, but rather envisioned as a small, unappealing character. It wasn’t until a fateful encounter with voice actor Kazuki Yao that changed Franky’s destiny along with his overall design forever.

Jim Carrey’s Scary Comedy 'The Cable Guy' Comes to Streaming on Max
Image
The Cable Guy, Jim Carrey's outstanding dark comedy thriller directed by Ben Stiller, will land on Max next January. Don't pay attention to its 55% score on Rotten Tomatoes, as The Cable Guy is one of the best comedies of its time.

Starring Carrey in one of his most underrated performances, The Cable Guy will stream starting January 1 on the Warner Bros./Discovery platform, just in time to get a laugh during the post-holiday blues. While the film is certainly unsettling due to Carrey's maniacal performance and his character’s warped idea of a friendship, The Cable Guy is still one of the funniest ways to ring in the New Year. It's also a damning critique of television itself.

The Cable Guy tells the story of Steven Kovacs (Matthew Broderick), a yuppie who moves to an apartment by himself after a marriage proposal to Robin doesn't end well. Steven gets cable,...

Those two films also had audience scores of 96% and 93%, and matching those scores will be another challenge. As Sonic 3 hits theaters this weekend, it doesn't yet have an audience score of its own, but landing so well with the critics is an excellent start for the threequel's reception. Meanwhile, the Paramount+ spinoff series, Knuckles, has a 75% approval rating from critics with a 67% audience score.

“They do so many funny moves”: Helldivers 2 Illuminate Zombies Death Animation Is Insanely Brilliant, It’d Have Definitely Won Game of the Year Had Arrowhead Released It Sooner
Image
The Illuminate have finally graced Helldivers 2 with their presence, arriving in a surprise post-Tga update that’s left Super Earth’s finest absolutely delighted. While Arrowhead’s latest faction brings plenty of squid-headed horrors to the battlefield, it’s their mind-controlled human servants, the Voteless, who are stealing the spotlight with death animations that belong in a Super Earth theatrical production.

Goty-worthy enemy names, too. | Image Credit: PlayStation/YouTube

These former citizens, stripped of their voting rights and free will, have become the unexpected stars of the show. Their dramatic departures from the mortal realm range from Shakespearean tragedy to slapstick comedy, proving that even in death, democracy finds a way to express itself.

The more Helldivers encounter these unfortunate souls, the clearer it becomes that the developers poured their hearts into designing these memorable moments. Each interaction serves as a darkly comic reminder of the price of freedom—or in this case,...

The Reason Jim Carrey Did The Grinch Makes The Christmas Classic Even Better
Image
Jim Carrey is best known for his comedic roles and his very peculiar style of physical comedy, and in 2000, he starred in the Christmas classic The Grinch, and his reason for doing it makes it even better and more memorable. Carrey rose to fame in the 1990s after starring in some of the most successful comedies of the decade, such as Ace Ventura, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber, as well as in Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever, where he famously played The Riddler. Carrey kept this successful streak throughout the 2000s, beginning with How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Directed by Ron Howard and based on Dr. Seuss’ 1957 classic children’s book of the same name, How The Grinch Stole Christmas introduces viewers to the title character (played by Carrey), a bad-tempered and misanthropic green creature who hates Christmas. After a chance encounter with him and learning of the origin of his hatred for Christmas,...

Jim Carrey Offers Surprisingly Promising Response to 'The Mask' Sequel Idea
Image
Despite apparently being in semi-retirement, Jim Carrey sounds more than willing to return to some of his most beloved roles. Coming quickly following the revelation that he would consider returning for a sequel to the festive favorite The Grinch, Carrey has now offered a surprisingly promising response to the idea of coming back for another installment in The Mask franchise.

Speaking with Comicbook.com, Carrey, who can next be seen once again as the video game villain Dr. Robotnik in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, responded “earnestly” when asked what it would take to bring him back for another wild and wacky adventure as the mild-mannered Stanley Ipkiss who, after finding the Mask of Loki, is transformed into the titular zany, green-faced superhero.

“Oh gosh, you know, it has to be the right idea. If somebody had the right idea, I guess… It’s not really about the money. I joke about the money…...

Medics Thought Jim Carrey’s Gallbladder Attack on the Set of ‘Dumb and Dumber’ Was a Joke
Image
This month marks 30 years since the release of Dumb and Dumber, the greatest movie ever made in which Jeff Daniels suffers from explosive diarrhea.

Apart from the fact that it was filmed in a famously haunted hotel, one would assume that the making of this goofy comedy would be a pretty smooth ride, right? Well, not exactly. Star Jim Carrey had a significant medical episode during production. Unfortunately for Carrey, the professionals tasked with saving his life first assumed that his medical emergency was just more Ace Ventura-like shtick.

In honor of Dumb and Dumber’s 30th, People spoke with Karen "Duff" Duffy, the actress who played J.P. Shay, one of the hitmen who follows Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne across the country.

Duffy claimed that the cast and crew had a “blast” during the making of the film, but noted that one day was far less fun.

10 Movie Scenes From The 1990s That Wouldn't Happen Today

Warning: This article discusses topics of transphobia, child abuse, inappropriate relationships, and suicide.

Unfortunately, there are some scenes from 1990s movies that wouldnt happen today. These moments are typically uncomfortable because they are politically incorrect, badly written, or simply outdated.

Some of the best movies of all time are from the 90s, but this doesnt mean that certain scenes havent aged badly. In addition, some 1990s movies are just plain weird, usually because of a scene that, nowadays, wouldnt fly whatsoever.

Ace Ventura's Reaction To Kissing A Trans Woman Ace Ventura (1994)

Where To Watch Ace Ventura: Pet Detective - Is It Available To Stream For Free?
Image
Fans of the Jim Carrey comedy Ace Ventura: Pet Detective will likely be interested in knowing where the popular comedy is streaming today. Sometimes only referred to as Ace Ventura, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective is a classic of 1990s Jim Carrey performances and likely one of the first movies his most ardent fans remember seeing him in. Ace Ventura stars the titular character, played by Carrey, an eccentric private eye who specializes in animal-related crimes. It's Carrey in all his zany, slapstick, rubber-faced glory, and a true laugh-a-minute romp.

The film was a box office success, earning $107 million (via BoxOfficeMojo). It was a bit less well-received critically, earning only a 47% on Rotten Tomatoes, with many critics turned off by the film's gross-out humor, raunchiness, and occasional nastiness when it came to gender identity, a fair charge, but one that could be levied at a number of comedies from the era.

The Best Star Trek Actors Who Guest Starred In The Twilight Zone
Image
Two of the most-loved sci-fi franchises of all time have a lot more crossover than you might think. Before starring on "Star Trek: The Original Series," several key members of the enterprise popped up in Rod Serling's seminal series "The Twilight Zone." A few decades later, the same pattern would repeat, only it would be future "Star Trek: The Next Generation" stars cutting their teeth on episodes of the '80s "Twilight Zone" reboot. Even the most recent iteration of the show, Jordan Peele's short-lived but ambitious effort that stalled out after just two seasons, has hosted some great past and future "Trek" actors.

It's worth noting that this list concerns the best "Star Trek" actors, and as such, there are no guarantees that these talented folks are actually great or even memorable in their "Twilight Zone" appearances. Some certainly are, while others have only the briefest of guest spots in mostly-forgotten episodes.

What The Mother From 2022's Hit Horror Movie Barbarian Looks Like In Real Life
Image
Zach Cregger's film "Barbarian" cause a minor stir when it was released in 2022. Made for a downright modest budget of $4.5 million, the film raked in $45 million at the box office, grabbing the attention of many enthused fright fans seeking new voices in the pop horror zeitgeist.

"Barbarian" was also one of many films in the emerging microgenre of Airbnb-related horror -- Fearbnb? -- wherein the protagonists check into a bed-and-breakfast, only to find something eerie or menacing about the house they've paid for. The genre also included films like "The Rental," "Superhost," "You Should Have Left," and "Room for Rent." Fearbnb movies were timely, tapping into the public's uneasiness with a total lack of regulation in the upstart self-rental business; if no one is overseeing your Airbnb, who is to say the homeowner isn't keeping a monster in their basement?

That's certainly the case with "Barbarian." The film...

10 Comedy Sequels That Are Just As Good As The Original
Image
Comedy sequels are notoriously difficult to pull off, but there are a few exceptions to this rule that have kept fans laughing. Comedy movies tend to derive a lot of their humor and conflict from a particular situation, and once the story is wrapped up, there is no logical reason to bring the characters back for more. This is why a lot of comedy sequels feel overly contrived, or unrelated to the first movie.

While unnecessary comedy sequels have sadly become the norm, this just makes it even more exciting when a sequel lives up to the standards of the original. Not all movies are set up for sequels, but comedy can often get more creative. Audiences will forgive comedies for coming up with silly premises as long as the movies are just as funny. If a comedy sequel gives beloved characters a fun new story that plays to their strengths,...

10 1990s Comedies Barely Anyone Remembers
Image
Forgotten 90s comedies like "Quick Change" deserve to be rediscovered for their unique humor and clever storytelling. Gems like "Serial Mom" and "Multiplicity" were underrated, blending dark humor and satire with lighthearted comedy. Cult favorites like "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion" and "BASEketball" may have been forgotten but still offer plenty of heart and laughs.

The 1990s were a great time for comedy movies, although plenty of releases have been forgotten entirely by modern viewers. While this was the heyday for stars like Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, and Robin Williams, who led massive box office hits that people know and love to this day, many more comedy movies were produced that have been doomed to obscurity. While Mike Myers may have hit big with the Austin Powers and Waynes World films during the 1990s, he also starred in movies that aren't as well remembered.
