Nihal Vasudevan is a Writer/Director currently based in Los Angeles, California. Born in Saudi Arabia to Indian parents, he developed an interest in stories at a young age. At the age of 14, he moved to Kerala, India. This move exposed him to a world of new experiences, new food, new people, new languages and new stories.
After completing his schooling, he moved to Chennai to pursue Electrical Engineering. Three years into engineering and after making some great memories, life took a sharp turn and he decided to move to Mumbai, to pursue a lifelong ambition of telling stories.
Equipped with some great stories but curious of how to give them life, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a BBA in Media and Communication at the prestigious Whistling Woods International, Mumbai. At this film school he went on to explore themes of psychological thrillers and dark comedies in his short films and expository and interview style in his documentaries and podcasts. This was followed by a brief stint in Advertising at some of Mumbai's renowned creative agencies.
With a renewed sense in the art of storytelling he moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a Masters in Film and Media Production at New York Film Academy. Post graduation, Nihal went on to write, direct and produce multiple short films and music videos. In 2018, he wrote and directed a supernatural comedy, When 'HE' Intervened, that went on to garner a lot of praise and appreciation. His latest project, HIS Period(2019) is a dark comedy and is currently in festivals generating rave reviews.
