In May, the Swedish actor, who appeared in Rocky IV and Creed II, revealed his eight-year battle with lung cancer and said his doctor estimated he had two more years left to live.

“We chose to celebrate our love by getting married at our villa in Mykonos with family and a few close friends,” Lundgren told People. “With both Covid and a long road of challenging medical treatments, we’ve had to push our marriage plans many times.”

Dolph Lundgren is looking back on a time when he wanted to “punch out” his co-star Sylvester Stallone.

While appearing on a new episode of “In Depth with Graham Bensinger”, the Swedish actor, 65, recalled a tense interaction with Stallone, 76, on set of their 2010 film “The Expendables”.

“We had some good times and bad times, kinda like family to some degree,” Lundgren said of Stallone, whom he’d worked with previously on 1985’s “Rocky IV” and then again on the “Expendables” sequels, followed by 2018’s “Creed II”.

Dolph Lundgren has revealed for the first time that he has been battling kidney cancer since 2015.

In an appearance on the interview series In Depth with Graham Bensinger, the 65-year-old Swedish actor opened up about doctors in LA finding and removing a cancerous tumor in his kidney in 2015. Scans came up clean for the next five years but in 2020, several more tumors were discovered around the same area.

During surgery, doctors found and removed a total of six tumors, but a video clip filmed the day after found Lundgren in positive spirits. “If it dies, it dies,” he said, referencing a famous line from Rocky IV. “It will die.”

However, Lundgren wasn’t out of the woods yet. He eventually received a call that doctors had also discovered one more tumor on his liver which eventually turned out to be inoperable because it grew too big to take out.

Rocky IV and The Expendables franchise star Dolph Lundgren revealed he’s been battling cancer for the past eight years. During a nationally syndicated interview on In Depth With Graham Bensinger, Lundgren said he’d been diagnosed with lung cancer in 2015.

While Lundgren says he went into remission, the cancer returned with a vengeance in 2020. His doctor gave him a terminal diagnosis, saying he only had 2-3 years to live. When the actor’s cancer returned, Lundgren’s fiancée Emma Krokdal said the doctors found tumors in his lungs, spine, and kidneys. Dolph made peace with the diagnosis, thinking he would die within a finite period.
