Stephen King Praises New Horror Movie Together With 90% Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
It's been another great year for horror, with Ryan Coogler's Sinners standing as a shining example of what the genre is capable of. With its blend of psychological tension, social commentary, supernatural dread, and killer score, the film has become a full-blown cultural phenomenon that made $365 million at the box office and has sparked serious Oscar buzz, incredibly rare for a horror film.

Franchise entries like Final Destination: Bloodlines and 28 Years Later have also delivered, proving there's still room for innovation within established horror worlds. Meanwhile, A24's Bring Her Back, from Danny and Michael Philippou, and The Monkey, written and directed by Osgood Perkins based on Stephen King's short story, also stand as examples of strong auteur-driven horror.

Weapons, from Barbarian director Zach Cregger, releases in theaters on August 8 and promises to be one of the best horror movies of 2025, and another strong auteur-driven title for the genre.

Directed by Michael Shanks, the movie is a horror film about a couple, Tim and Millie, who leave their city life to move to the countryside so that Millie can pursue a new teaching job. Things do not go as smoothly as planned.

The film stars real-life married couple, Dave Franco and Alison Brie, in the lead roles. The film also features a supporting cast including Damon Herriman, Mia Morrissey, Karl Richmond, Jack Kenny, and Francesca Waters. Together is receiving relatively strong reviews thus far.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Together composer Cornel Wilczek explains how Together managed to get the song "2 Become 1" by the Spice Girls. Wilczek revealed that the song was used in the script, and noted that the Spice Girls were "really big in Australia."

‘Together’ Review
Image
Stars: Alison Brie, Dave Franco, Damon Herriman, Mia Morrissey, Karl Richmond, Jack Kenny, Francesca Waters, Aljin Abella | Written and Directed by Michael Shanks

We all know a couple who seem joined at the hip, unable to spend time apart from each other. That effectively describes the central pairing of Together; school teacher Millie (Alison Brie) and aspiring musician Tim (Dave Franco). The longtime couple’s lives seem to exist entirely within each other’s orbit, but they will soon find their issues becoming more severe than struggling to meet up with their friends.

As part of Millie’s new job, the pair move to a secluded house in the countryside. This tests their relationship, as Tim finds himself trapped within unfamiliar surroundings and unable to even reach the train station without being driven by Millie. These issues are heightened after a disastrous walk among nature changes them, with physical contact...
