Filmmaker R. Balki has talked about casting actress Shreya Dhanwanthary in his upcoming psychological thriller film ‘Chup’, starring Dulquer Salmaan.

Shreya is well-known for her Amazon Prime Video web series ‘The Family Man’ and ‘Scam 1992’.

“Shreya is a volcanic talent. I had seen her perform in ‘Scam 1992’ and ‘The Family Man’ and was hugely impressed.”

“When I met her for the first time, within five minutes of the conversation, I asked her whether she’d like to read a script and that’s how I offered her ‘Chup’. I saw Nila in her the moment I met her.”

Others headlining the power-packed cast of the film are Sunny Deol and Pooja Bhatt.

The movie is directed by R Balki and produced by Hope Productions and Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. The film is written by R Balki himself based on the story he started working on a few years ago.

Director R Balki’s psychological thriller Chup is on the edge and it’s the interesting reveals from the movie that’s adding to our excitement. The shoot of the film has been an incredible journey for the whole cast and the trailer of the film exudes all their energetic performances.

Being part of the talented cast of the film, actor Sunny Deol is popularly known for his action thrillers. Chup will mark the actor’s first-time pair-up with director R Balki. The actor recently opened up on his experience working with the director and it’s heartwarming.

He expressed, “It is my first time working with Balki sir. He is really a great professional with a great vision. He knows what he wants and is very precise with his work, and that’s what made us finish the shoot within just 45 days. It was a great pleasure working with him and the whole team.

Known for originality in his stories and story telling, for presenting unexplored themes in a commercial format, ‘Chup’ is filmmaker R Balki’s most ambitious film till date. Ambition not in big budget terms but in scale of thought. Releasing on 23rd September, 2022, it’s a romantic psychopath thriller, a thought he had after ‘Cheeni Kum’ and decided to write it much later. The poster revealing the release date released today.

Speaking of the same R Balki said, “Chup is special for more than one reason. For me the biggest reason is it marks the official debut of Amitabh Bachchan as a music composer. Amitji saw Chup and played an instinctive original melody on his piano as he relived the film. It was his way of expressing his feelings for the film, paying a tribute. This composition, his gift to the film, will be the end title track of Chup.
