‘The Wheel of Time’ Canceled at Amazon’s Prime Video After Three Seasons
Image
The Wheel of Time has been canceled after three seasons at Amazon’s Prime Video streamer.

The series, from Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios and based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling series of fantasy novels, aired its third-season finale on April 17.

At the time, showrunner Rafe Judkins, who adapted the series for television, addressed the show’s uncertain future in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Judkins said he’d been asking Amazon, “What is the end game for the show? I really want to deliver this full series, so how do we best do that?”

He argued that part of why he and his creative team chose Amazon was because the streamer “felt like a place where they do want to invest in shows for the long term. There are not a lot of places doing that anymore. For Wheel of Time, it’s really important for...

Virgin River guest star teases potential return: 'We running this back?'
Image
We might be heading back to the past in Virgin River season 7, according to the latest post from season 6 guest star Callum Kerr. In the post, the actor seemed to hint that he could be coming back to the series for another guest appearance, but his tease also has us wondering if Netflix has finally made a decision about that long in-development prequel series.

Earlier this week, Kerr posted a photo of himself standing in front of a black background with Virgin River and Netflix written on it multiple times. He's all smiles, which seems to mirror the sentiment of his caption: "We running this back?" To further solidify the fact that he's teasing fans about his potential return, Kerr used the smirking emoji before tagging both the show and the streamer.

While some might take this post as confirmation that Kerr will reprise his role as the young version...

One Piece Confirms New World Record Ahead of Netflix's Season 2
Image
Fans of One Piececan feel proud of this franchise setting another record at the Osaka Comic Con recently, with a record number of fans wearing straw hats on the third and final day of the event on May 4th. As three stars of the live-action One Piece show on Netflix took to the stage, a total of 897 fans donned their Luffy-inspired hats as a salute to their favorite franchise.

Merchandise and cosplay are nothing new in the anime world, but only a truly massive franchise like One Piece could set a verified record with not just its manga sales, but also its merchandise. To help emphasize this achievement, One Piece stars Mackenyu, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Emily Rudd held up a Guinness World Records certificate for all to see, proving once again that the aging One Piece franchise isn't slowing down by any means.

The Wheel of Time has set up its next major Forsaken villains for season 4
Image
This article contains Spoilers for The Wheel of Time books, up through book 5, The Fires of Heaven.

The third season of The Wheel of Time is at an end, which means it's now time to look ahead. Over the course of eight episodes, Prime Video's fantasy series based on the beloved books by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson blew us away with its ambitious story, spectacular magic, vast cast of memorable characters, and shocking twists and turns. It wasn't only a solid adaptation of Jordan's book The Shadow Rising, but an excellent season of television all around.

So what comes next? The Wheel of Time season 3 laid the groundwork for a number of major plotlines from the fifth and sixth books in the series, The Fires of Heaven and Lord of Chaos. Given that the climactic ending of Lord of Chaos serves as something of a mid-point for the overarching narrative of the books,...

Image
The Wheel of Time is barreling toward the end of its third season, but we're still reeling from the past few weeks of Prime Video's epic fantasy series. Based on the beloved book series by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, The Wheel of Time is one of the most iconic fantasy sagas of all time. It spans 14 books (and a prequel), with thousands of named characters and bits of lore to keep track of. Season 3 of the TV show introduces a slew of new elements, as well as some faces that fans have been dying to see on screen.

Those introductions began right near the top of the season, when Queen Morgase Trakand (Olivia Williams), the mother of Elayne (Ceara Coveney), came to the White Tower to demand answers for her daughter's abduction last season. Morgase brought the rest of her immediate family with her: her consort Lord Gaebril (Nuno Lopes) and her two sons,...

The Wheel of Time star is thrilled to be playing a role that's "hated by the entire fandom"
Image
The third season of The Wheel of Time has introduced us to a few new characters, including Andoran princes Gawyn and Galad, both of them brothers to Elayne, who we already know. Gawyn and Galad made a splash at the White Tower when they arrived in the second episode of season 2, "A Question of Crimson," sparring shirtless and catching the eye of many a young novice, not to mention driving Mat Cauthon up a wall.

Galad is played by Callum Kerr and Gawyn by Luke Fetherston. The both of them have important roles to play in The Wheel of Time books, so they could be sticking around the show for a while. "Firstly, I didn't know that I was auditioning for Gawyn and Galad," Luke Fetherston told ScreenRant. "It was all kind of code names. "Very Quickly Resigned to My Fate": 'The Wheel of Time' Star Reflects on Playing This Divisive Book Character
Image
The Pattern weaves and The Wheel of Time continues to spin to deliver the third season of the show, with new episodes dropping Thursdays. Among other new faces this season, Prime Video's adaptation of Robert Jordan's iconic book series introduced the Royal Family of Andor, including Olivia Williams as Queen Morgase and Galad (Callum Kerr) and Gawyn (Luke Fetherston). Now, Fetherston has reflected on being cast as the divisive book character of Gawyn.

Readers of Jordan's original works are well-versed in the complex nature of Gawyn's character arc. While the character can be credited for some good deeds along the way, he is most despised for the role he ultimately played in how Egwene al'Vere's (Madeleine Madden) life pans out. Speaking to ScreenRant, Fetherston revealed that he didn't know which Trakand he would be playing when he first auditioned.

"Firstly, I didn't know that I was auditioning for Gawyn and Galad,...

Image
Prime Video's The Wheel of Time is currently airing the third season of the fantasy series and with it has come the introduction of a number of new characters. One of whom is Queen Morgase Trakand (Olivia Williams), ruler of Andor, who reigns from the city of Caemlyn. As part of her training to succeed her mother on the Lion Throne one day, Elayne (Ceara Coveney) has been sent to the White Tower, given that she has traits of being able to channel the One Power. So, with the Queen and the heir to the throne of Andor both present in the White Tower, comparisons have been drawn between the two. So, is there validity to it?

'One Piece' Suffers Another Major Loss Ahead of Season 2 for Netflix
Image
Another of the main creative forces behind Netflix's One Piece live-action adaptation is jumping off the Going Merry after Season 2 wrapped production. Matt Owens, who originally co-created and served as co-showrunner on the series with Steven Maeda has decided to step back to focus on his mental health. With his decision announced on Instagram, the main creative duo who spearheaded the effort at Netflix to adapt Eiichirô Oda's long-running manga is no longer involved, or, at the very least, is no longer calling the shots. Only Percy Jackson and the Olympians writer and co-executive producer Joe Tracz remains as showrunner for post-production after he took over for Maeda last April.

Owens has arguably been the mastermind behind One Piece, not only shaping the first two seasons but also laying out how the future would look for the show as it continued to adapt more of the manga. He's...

Netflix’s One Piece Season 2 Is Exciting, but I’m Afraid Oda’s Most Frustrating Character Will Now Be Exposed to the Whole World
Image
Season 2 of the Netflix live-action adaptation of One Piece finished filming on 4 February 2025. No official release date has been announced yet, but we know it will pick up at the Loguetown Arc. The promotional photo on their social media accounts gives us a glimpse of the Straw Hats’ new looks.

Plenty of new characters will be introduced in One Piece’s Season 2. For me, I’m most looking forward to Lera Abova’s performance as Nico Robin. However, for the Loguetown Arc, Smoker, Tashigi, and Monkey D. Dragon will be in the limelight.

Smoker and Tashigi will be played by Callum Kerr and Julia Rehwald. Rigo Sanchez is set to play Luffy’s father and the supreme commander of the Revolutionary Army. However, to people who are only watching the live-action series, the perception of him will be very different and confusing.

When Jack arrived at Charmaine’s ransacked home in Virgin River‘s sixth season finale, I immediately feared the worst for Lauren Hammersley’s downtrodden character — and apparently I’m not the only one jumping to that conclusion.

Hammersley on Friday shared a recent text exchange with Virgin River showrunner Patrick Sean Smith in which she presses him for answers about Charmaine’s fate in the Netflix drama’s upcoming seventh season.

Rosamund Pike Explains Why ‘Wheel of Time’ Season 3 Is Skipping a Book Storyline
Image
Rosamund Pike has confirmed that The Wheel of Time Season 3 will make some changes to the book’s storyline, specifically delaying Rand al’Thor’s journey to the Stone of Tear. The new season, set to premiere on March 13, 2025, will follow Rand (Josha Stradowski) as he travels to the Aiel Waste before retrieving Callandor.

Pike explained that this adjustment was made to better translate Rand’s internal struggles to the screen. Instead of heading straight to the Stone of Tear, the show will send Rand into the Aiel Waste first, allowing him to discover his heritage and identity before obtaining the powerful sa’angreal. While the Stone of Tear remains an important part of the story, its placement has been shifted to better fit the TV adaptation.

“We haven’t neglected the Stone of Tear, we’ve just rearranged the order. There’ll be debate about it, but instead of Rand,...

‘Virgin River’ Fans Split About Upcoming Prequel Series After Showrunner Patrick Smith Teases Plans
Image
Netflix‘s popular romantic drama Virgin River is preparing for a prequel series, but not all fans are on the same page following showrunner Patrick Smith’s teases about the upcoming spinoff. In an interview with Variety in December, Smith opened up about how the prequel will focus on Mel Monroe’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) parents, Sarah and Everett, played by Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr, respectively. The actors made their debut in flashbacks in Season 6 and are now set to have their romance explored in a series of their own. The spinoff, Smith said, will focus “not just the romance of Sarah and Everett, but also the origins of Virgin River in the 1970s.” However, many fans are unsure whether a spinoff about Mel’s parents is necessary, with one Reddit user writing, “Why are they making a prequel based off Mel’s parents? She’s not even a likable character.

Alexandra Breckenridge has become almost a household name due to her phenomenal performance in Virgin River. The show finds her portraying Melinda Monroe, opposite Martin Henderson’s Jack Sheridan.

Based on Robyn Carr’s popular book series of the same name, the show just concluded its sixth season last December. Fascinatingly, it had already been renewed for another season before Season 6 even premiered.

However, things might have been vastly different if Alexandra Breckenridge stuck to a drastic decision she made ahead of the show. The actress recently revealed that she almost turned down the role off the bat, even though she felt suited for it. Thankfully, the showrunners changed her mind.

Netflix Removes 2025 Release Date for Live-Action ‘One Piece’ Season 2 After Apparent Leak
Image
Netflix recently confirmed that Season 2 of the One Piece live-action series would arrive in 2025, but now that information has disappeared. The original announcement appeared on Netflix Tudum, promoting a partnership with Lego. However, the website has since removed the release year from the article.

It’s unclear why Netflix changed the post. Maybe the release date was revealed too early, or it might not be set in stone. Either way, the update leaves us wondering when exactly Season 2 will drop.

The new season is already shaping up to be massive. Over 20 new cast members have been introduced, and we got a sneak peek at Drum Island and Chopper last September. Eiichiro Oda himself has promised that this season will be even better than the first. In a recent set tour video, Jeff Ward even hinted that it’s still coming this year.
