BET+ has renewed the racy and captivating one-hour drama series Haus of Vicious for a second season. The new season will consist of eight episodes and feature Tami Roman in the leading role of Chantel Vivian.

The show also features Redaric Williams as Kane, Erica Peeples as Jaelyn, Norman Nixon Jr. as Milan, Kyler O’Neal as Izzy, Brely Evans as Avery, Vincent Ward as Bishop, Lyric Anderson as Tia, John Marshall Jones as Trevor and Ella Joyce as Carolyn.

Haus of Vicious follows the journey of Chantel Vivian, a talented fashion designer whose success is overshadowed by her narcissistic husband, addiction, unresolved childhood traumas, and dysfunctional personal life.

In Outlaw Johnny Black, the titular character has vowed to avenge his father's death by killing Brett Clayton. However, in the process, he becomes a wanted man. Posing as Reverend Fairman to stay below the radar, he ends up in a small mining town that has been taken over by the notorious Land Baron.

Christopher B. Stokes directs four “Black cinema thrillers” for Tubi

Christopher B. Stokes, the directors of such films as House Party 4, You Got Served, Somebody Help Me, Somebody Help Me 2, The Stepmother, and The Stepmother 2, is about to send four more movies out into the world over the course of just three months – and it’s all thanks to the Tubi streaming service. Continuing to get into original programming (previous Tubi originals include the Terror Train remake and its sequel), Tubi has teamed up with Footage Films to bring four “Black cinema thrillers” to their service. Stokes has directed all four of the movies and wrote the scripts for each one with Marques Houston.

Tubi to Launch Four New Original Black Cinema Thrillers From Footage Films (Exclusive)

Tubi is set to launch four new original Black cinema thrillers from Footage Films: “The Assistant,” “Best Friend,” “You’re Not Alone” and “No Way Out.”

The four upcoming thrillers are directed by Christopher B. Stokes from scripts the filmmaker co-wrote with Marques Houston. Stokes and Houston also serve as executive producers on the films, with Footage Films president Juanita Stokes as producer. Tubi has previously worked with Footage Films on several original films, including “The Stepmother” and “The Stepmother 2.”

Per the logline, “The Assistant” follows doctor Raven Fields (Erica Mena) who “finds herself drowning in work and looks to hire an assistant to help with her day-to-day. BET has picked up Haus of Vicious, the drama series led by Tami Roman. It is set to premiere August 17 at 8 p.m.

From creator Jill Ramsey, the eight-episode first season follows Roman’s character Chantel Vivian, a fashion designer whose success is overshadowed by her narcissistic husband, addiction, unresolved childhood traumas, and dysfunctional personal life. With the assistance of her secret weapon, Jaelyn Ryan (Erica Peeples), publicist to her Vicious Empire, Chantel works to rise through the ranks, but her husband Kane’s (Redaric Williams) behavior threatens to tear down the house Chantel built.

Exclusive: LeToya Luckett (Greenleaf), Romeo Miller (Honey) and Keith David (Greenleaf) have signed on to star in the film A Miracle Before Christmas, from writer-director LazRael Lison (#Unknown).

The love story centers on Mercedes Wright (Luckett), a famous, fast-talking relationship therapist who has the answers to fixing everyone else’s marital issues, but is challenged by problems faced with her own husband (Miller), leaning on help from an angel (David) to get past them. Lison and Tatiana Chekhova are producing the film under their Summer House Pictures banner, with Charles F. Porter of Black Bench Productions, and Jasper Cole (Never and Again). Marlon D. Haynes is serving as exec producer.

Herb Kimble as Reverend Takabuck in Cocaine Sisters
Exclusive: The term “urban” has certain connotations in Hollywood and, in the past, has been thrown around carelessly. The new streaming platform UrbanFlix is looking to change all that and redefine the term “urban” by delivering a fresh slate of scripted and unscripted original programming, as well as a wide array of high caliber multicultural content.

Looking to launch in late 2019, the streaming platform was founded by Chairman Herb Kimble and is dedicated to “diversity and inclusion with an edge” that reflects the real world. Kevin Griffo will serve as UrbanflixTV CEO.

“UrbanFlix is committed to original stories that make us think, laugh and cry, tapping into the universal human emotions that touch all of us. We believe in creating content not just for some of us, but for all of us,” said Kimble.
